I've seen the first season, and frankly only half the episodes were all that good and it seemed to be going downhill pretty hard at the end. Flog the fanboys. So you saw the first season and do not recognize the 3 main characters?? You might want to visit a doctor and see if you have that facial-recognition condition.

I did not enjoy the movie too much. Didn't help matters that a bunch of teenagers sat behind us and, it seemed at the most inopportune times, would be whispering, kicking seats, making intentional noise, etc etc. I think I projected my loathing of teenagers to the big screen, thus detracting more from my enjoyment of the movie.
I thought the movie really felt disjointed and hurried/rushed and it seemed to have an almost Twilight air about it some times. On one hand I think reading the books detracted somewhat from the movie, but on the other hand, they glossed over some much stuff that I could see where non-book readers might get confused or not put together elements of the story. I dont think the main character translated well from the book to the screen. I found myself not caring much about her.

Really? That sounds laughably bad. I hope it is a little more restrictive than "all forms of energy".

Really enjoying the show, the chemistry between the judges is even better this season. You can probably do a drinking game based on how many times Adam reminds you that he won last year lol. I decided to dump American Idol this year, maybe I'll check in on the top 10/12 if you guys say I should. Otherwise I think I like The Voice the best of the 3 singing competitions, particularly the blind audition portion. Last year, it took me a while to warm up to the judges since I really don't care for any of their styles of music. But toward the end I was enjoying their part in the show. I agree that the chemistry between them is better this season so far. I think i would have like to see 4 different judges though if I had a choice. Do you think the judges have people to the side that give them information about the looks of the singers? Cause they sure seem to be looking in that direction a lot during that first portion of the songs.

How have you geared your tank? Mine is very heavily weighted toward end and mitigation. Were you questing at level or somewhat over leveled for the mobs?
Standard stuff, I focused on +defense stuff mainly, mixing in a tiny bit of +str here and there. I normally focused on defensive talents while leveling up. I leveled my cybertech slightly faster than my character level so almost always had blue armor plating and modifications ready to insert in all my armor/weapon when I reached the next upgrade level. My next highest level is a sniper and he is 36th. For a pure DPS class/spec, he just is not putting out great DPS. That may change in the next few levels though as I get some good DPS talents up the tree. My bounty hunter is just 17 maybe, but still seems to do way more DPS than my other characters at that level when it comes to AEing weak mobs.

Here's a recipe for sucking the fun out of the game: quest as a fully specced tank with a healer companion. You never die but it feels like you are attacking the mobs with fine grain sandpaper My first 50th was a tank-specced sith warrior (who always used healer companion) and I never felt like I was attacking mobs with a fine grain of sandpaper, especially after leveling up some other classes. (i.e. my warrior's DPS does not seem that far off my DPS alts other than the massive AE of my bounty hunter who can take out a whole group of weak mobs with one ability).

I remember those hibernian bastards that put down the mushrooms that did AE damage. For awhile they dominated any keep battle. My biggest gripe of the game was how they designed a lot of PvP around large-scale warfare yet the engine just couldn't handle it. They really put the cart before the horse in that department.

Anyone hit 50 yet? What all is there to do once you hit it? If nothing, I am okay with making an alt, but I probably won't put in the insane amount of time I've been putting in to rush this trooper to 50. My PC backlog will thank me.
I hit 50 tonight on my sith warrior juggernaut tank. I already had my speeder bike built (from schematic I bought off the auction house). After I bought the skill, all the 50th skills, I went over to my cybertech trainer and trained a bunch of stuff. Due to money concerns I only was learning enough cybertech trainer patterns to level it up and make stuff only relevant to my character. I STILL didn't have enough credits to get them all. The next "step" is to go to Ilum or whatever its called (lvl 50 planet) and work on getting commendations for epic mods. I got all the epic ship components but still having some trouble with the last two space missions. Gonna work on getting those done at some point. Other than that, I am trying to uncover some epic cybertech patterns by making greens, reverse engineering those to discover a blue pattern, then RE'ing it to get an epic one. So I having been sending 5 companions out at a time to scavenge and underworld trade for materials. I got 4 alts between 10 and 15, so will soon be looking to get those going.

Got my sith warrior juggernaut up to 42 today. I am tanked specced. Very rarely run into anything I can't outlast. Of course I am basically forced to use Quinn as my companion which kinda sucks in terms of bringing out other crew members for anything. Not sure why sith warriors get two tank companions. Really makes no sense to me.
My crewskills are cybertech, salvaging, and underworld trading. They have served me pretty good. I always kept it pretty high so I was making "blue" armor and modification slot items for upcoming levels. So now that I have 5 orange armor pieces (and 1 lightsaber), I get a substantial boost whenever I hit a new mod level especially since armor rating on armor is directly tied to the armoring slot modification.
I screwed up at the beginning and had some light-side points where I wish I hadn't. But now I always pick dark side option if there is one. But really the only benefit I am seeing is the two relic slot items you can purchase from the dark side vendor. I do like how your character's look changes with each level of dark side, but thats just a cosmetic change.

Just watched the season finale. What a fun, scary, unexpectedly well written show. Great, weird story with some really solid acting.
Definitely not your typical season finale. Kept you wondering what was around the next corner from start to finish. Well done and an overall awesome season 1.

Wow what a horrible final. For their first songs they pair the contestants with a duet partner. In each performance the professional overshadowed the contestant's performance, which was sometimes also drowned out by the ultra loud background music/vocals. None of those duets were any good I felt.
For their final song they each sung their initial audition song. Seriously? It might not had been so bad if the auditions were AI style (i.e. 10-20 seconds with no musical accompaniment), but xfactor auditions were long and allowed contestants to play a track to sing along with. The result was (at least for me) that I enjoyed their audition performances more than their final performances, other than Melanie's cause hers was essentially the same but with a more confidence. Josh's arrangement was just horrible imho. Chris's final performance was just way over-produced and lost so much of its sincerity compared to his audition. Really disappointed. When I watch these singing competitions I want to hear them sing and sing different stuff each week. The finale failed on both of those levels.
While Josh would be the only artist that I would listen to after xfactor, I don't really care who wins since I liked all 3 of the finalist.

They really need to implement a separation-of-church-and-survivor rule for this show. Really did not like all the time spent on showing religious "expression" for lack of a better word.

I'm in it to win it! Or at least to the bitter end. I was pissed off they dropped Drew last week (apparently others were as well as Paula was getting death threats). She was the only one who didn't have big production numbers and just sang extremely well. The other judges seemed like they wanted to send Simon a message and deliberately didn't save her, it was pretty ugly last week.
They all have all been complaining (or at least hinting) about Drew's inability to do anything notable outside her limited style (the ladies less so than LA's obvious disdain, but it was still there). She tried a few times to go outside of those rails and it was not very good. I was still a little surprised she was in the bottom two though, I thought she had more support than that. Other than last week, Josh seems to be owning the competition, and at this point I think it is his to lose.

Kato, look away! An unexpected side-effect of the 2010 flooding in parts of Sindh, Pakistan, was that millions of spiders climbed up into the trees to escape the rising flood waters; because of the scale of the flooding and the fact that the water took so long to recede, many trees became cocooned in spiders webs. Hmm, that seems odd. If I was a betting man I would bet that those are not spider webs but the webs of some worm. I have seen trees in KY look very much like that due to worms (not sure the type of worm though but my brother use to harvest them to use as fish bait).

Im kind of curious about those who have had the multiple crash issues with Skyrim. I have had exactly one crash in 40 hours of play and that happened when I tried to alt/tab out of the game. This is seriously one of the most stable games Ive ever played. I do have a very up to date computer, with an Intel i-7 2600k processor and a GTX 590 graphics card, so maybe the game was optimized for newer equipment. I was actually quite surprised, based on my game play, to see people complaining about its stability.
I have a GTX 580 (with up-to-date drivers) and an i7-2600k running windows 7 OS and have multiple crashes every session. Lately the thieves guild area in Riften seem to have the biggest issue. I often noticed framerate hiccups starting in that area which results in a crash shortly after, but it can happen anywhere. I save very often now.

Drew is seemingly more and more a 1-trick pony and, for me at least, it is already bordering on boring. Simon tried to break her out of that mold last week and it was not that good. So this week she was back to the same mode and it sounded, as LA was saying, like the same song as before. She still has a strong fan base and I dont see her going anywhere anytime soon. Highlight of the show was Paula telling her she should not take any more fashion advice from Simon who immediately informs her that Drew designed her own outfit. Stacy really needs to keep her bangs going, jesus what a huge forehead she has. She was very scary looking to me. Not a good performance for her. While I still like Melanie a lot, her performance was so-so this week I felt, mainly due to song choice. Josh was pretty good (like the second half better than the first) and it still going strong. I agree he is sometimes a little too dramatic. Don't really care much for either rapper. It would be cool to see them both in the bottom two one night and force them to have a rap battle, lol. Rachel did pretty good. Definitely needs to stay in that genre. The previous two weeks have not be very good due to song choices imho. She still shows her inexperience at times vocally, but when she is on, she is on. Plus she is too damn cute. I imagine both groups will be in the bottom two tonight.

I thought the whole show was a little over the top. Often they had dancers dancing around when there really was not any reason to. Also thought that the sound sucked balls. Something seemed really off with it in terms of volume. The crowd and background music seemed too loud compared to the singer's mics.
Not many surprises in this first live show. The biggest one to me was getting rid of the brother duo in favor of the hodgepodge groups (although the girls I think sounded good, but again, hard to hear them over the everything else).
I enjoyed Josh the most I think even though his song was repetitive. I thought it was kinda funny that nicole was asking simon "wheres my props (for coaching Josh)" then in the next sentence said how she loved how he ignored everything they had been working on and did it his way. I was disappointed Simon didn't get a chance to comeback with something like "Josh, props to you for ignoring a week of Nicole's mentoring."
I really like Leroy and hope he sticks around awhile, he voice just commands my attention.
While I liked Drew's voice I didnt like how they took a fun, upbeat song and made it slow and somber. Just made no sense to me. You can tell she is still very inexperienced and probably needs to stay in that sit-still-and-sing-song-slowly mode, which, imho, will get old eventually. She is still the one to beat however, due to 1) Simon pimping her and 2) Justin Beiber asking his fans to vote for her. For some reason i find her tween awkwardness endearing, but not sure how long that will last. She is a dead ringer for my cousin so that might be part of it.
I loved Rachel Crows rendition of If I Were A Boy in bootcamp and was expecting more of her in this live show. But her song choice, outfit, hairdo, stage production really sucked last night I thought. She needs to stick to what she does best if she wants to stick around.
Melanie I thought did a decent job with the whitney song but you could tell that it was a little too big for her. Simon wanted to push her and thats what happened. You could tell she was not comfortable with that performance. She is still a very solid singer and, imho, will probably be in it till the end.

Yeah, didnt like LA's choices. Why would you want to bring along the unlikable little rap guy along with Chris, poor strategy imho. I thought Paula's choices were horrible, both of the hodgepodge groups which stunk. I like the two brothers though. Didnt care for simons choices, but since it was all a set up to create drama, I guess I can live with it. I think Simone is horrible, no one will vote for her so seems like the waste of a slot. Would have enjoyed rugby girl a lot more even if it would have been only for a few weeks and she would have brought something different to the x factor tour (assuming there is one). And the girl with the big mouth not that great either. I think the bieber girl is not that talented vocally. Her last performance was so post-processed that it didnt even sound like her. Her previous "real" performances showed a much weaker voice. I assume the live shows will be live and not have that post-production, so I expect her to be a lot weaker next week.

very happy with this episode. Despite having read the comics up to volume 80ish the ending still made me jump - I forgot that I read about it. Commercials don't bother me at all - they have been part of my 38yrs on this Earth and were there before me and will be there long after me.
They bother me when they get to the point of breaking the flow and pacing of the show (which happens even though I skip through them on my DVR). I know toward the end it was 5-6 minutes of show, massive commercials, 5-6 minutes of show, massive commercials, 5-6 minutes, massive commercials. It was brutal and really lessens my enjoyment of the show.

Well that was interesting. This week they had the contestants at the judge's houses where they came out and performed in front of the judge and a special guest. Simon's guest was suppose to be Mariah Carey but she got held up due to a storm. Which made for a pervy scene when the girls would come out and sing love songs to Simon who was sprawled out on a couch. I am a bit torn by what they did with the performances though. There was a LOT of post production work done to the vocals, so they mostly sounded pretty good, but some I thought were just overdone to the point that it didn't really sound much like the person did during previous auditions.

She's going to be in armor for most of the time. I think they'll be able to fake it.
She may prove me wrong, but I don't see her wielding a sword with any amount of dexterity/strength. I imagine they will have to use some cheesy camera work to make it look like she is a good a fighter as the character she portrays.

Some pretty good performances during boot camp week. I thought it was a bit silly to make up 2 more groups from single contestants that didn't make the cut. Guess it goes to show how bad the groups all-around were. I am really impressed with the range of singers that I like. On one end of the spectrum you have 14 yr old Rachel Crow belting out "If I Were A Boy" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZ3MF5PSTfw then at the other end you have 59 yr old Leroy Bell just oozing coolness and style with "To Make you Feel My Love" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzJlzTSDmX8 . The other standout for me during boot camp was Josh Krajcik singing "Up to the Mountain". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dddFA6DofBg&feature=relatedChris Rene showed that he really has to stay with the rap genre (or needs to improve a ton very quickly) I was shocked they let Simone through after her absolute train wreck of a performance. Was some pretty nice editing to build up to that epic fail. There were other girls that should have been picked over her.
