Is it possible to "share" the blacksmith?
I play 99% of my time with a partner, and 50% with a third person. Is it possible for all of us to pour our resources into leveling the smith on 1 character? This way, we level him up faster. And if person A wants an item, he simply gives the gold and mats to person B (the one with the leveled smith), to craft the item for person A?

I have a question about character builds.
I haven't followed like everyone else, but how will one character be different from another at level 40, for example? In D2, you could have an Amazon specialize around freezing arrow, or javelins (lightning fury).
Is the rune system going to come into play there?

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Let's reminisce about some OLD games

My wife got me a collection of old Genesis games for the XBox 360 for Christmas. I'd forgotten about some of these games, and can't wait to give them another shot.
For example, Ecco the Dolphin 1 and 2, and I think I saw a Ecco 3 on there? Wow. And Beyond Oasis, I remember loving this game. You can't beat some of the old ones.

Just completed the 360 demo.
I like it a lot. Art direction is interesting, story looks solid, fan of Andy Serkis.
The camera seemed a little "touchy". Hard to explain, but it won't break it for me.
To me, not having a PS3, the easiest thing to compare this to is Prince of Persia, which to be honest, I grew bored of. But this game I think will hold me a little better than Prince of Persia did.

Played a few hours over the weekend.
Like the last few have said, a solid opinion from me as well. Good action, good sidekick. The story is still in the early phases, but I have no doubt the standard "RE-craziness" story will take off soon.
I think Sheva is a worthy addition to the game so far. I've heard complaints about having a sidekick. But didn't RE-0 follow this same formula?

Okay guys, still trying to do a little research. What exactly is the Arcade version? I hear they're Jasper, with no HD, basically a souped up Core. Could I simply get one of them and put my hard drive in this unit? A lot of words coming at me now. Core, Elite, Pro, Jasper, Arcade. Man. Ha, I just want a working XBox

Hmm. I admit, this is all new to me. I punch in my serial number on XBox's website, and it came back out of warranty.
This is actually another replacement unit from them. On number two now.

Got Fallout 3 for Christmas, went to play, almost got through Ron Perlman's narration before it went. Bah.
It's out of warranty apparently, $94 to fix. Eh. Might just buy a new one with a better warranty of some kind.
Is it possible to buy a core system and simply move the hard drive over?

The problem with listing RPGs here is that they are very much ensemble games to it's very hard to pick out a single two person relationship.
Indeed true. However, a lot of RPGs definitely tried to have the old "romantic subplot" thing going. I remember Final Fantasy 8 being marketed as romantic. Pretty funny, as I thought Squall was crazy dull.

Hey Semi, almost feel dumb for saying, but could you put the games after? I don't know where half of those come from For me, in no general order, and not necessarily romantic. 1. Prince and Farah - PoP Sands of Time 2. Jackie and the Darkness - The Darkness (I just love that dude's voice.) 3. Cloud and Tifa - FF7 (was never a fan of Aeris at all) 4. Locke and Celes - FF3

I ended up going with Dead Space, for the reasons said above. It's a shorter game. As much as I'd like to end up getting both Fable 2 and Fallout 3, I can't see myself getting lost in 2 gaming worlds. So I have to decide which one I'd rather throw time at.

I'm very much in to the game myself. Like most of the characters, like the story that is being told, and the way it's being told. I like the idea of a main character who in one sentence, will say they should run for their lives, then the next moment, leads the way into battle. Just a very unique experience overall so far.
Indeed, all the flaws that have been said are correct. Lack of direction at times, no world map, a lot of item/weapon management. But the strengths outweigh.

Picked this up. I am liking it a lot. I think it's a little different than most RPGs I've played. In this one, the main character is actually a wuss. Can't remember last time that happened.
Question about titles. Do they change throughout the story? I think it's pretty cool you can check out how your character feels about others throughout the story. But do they change depending on how much you use them?

I looked for this yesterday. Couldn't find a copy. I was mad. I'm hoping stories / character interactions / gameplay make up for some of the flaws. I love the character descriptions on their website, looks very interesting. Whereas Tales of Vesperia, to me, from just looking, looks to be generic characters. But that's the sought after game right now. So maybe I'm backwards

Ha You just did what I talked about earlier. Reading your post, I'm thinking "he doesn't like it", then get to the bottom Good to hear though. I'm leaning toward this one over Tales, because of it's shorter (60 hour games are tough for me now). Characters look more interesting too.

I've been keeping track of this game, trying to decide between it and Tales (although no doubt I'll have both down the road). This one sounds more interesting, but the reviews have been all over the place. I listened to the IGN review (I believe it was), and he spent 5 minutes bashing the game, talking about how bad it was. Then at the end says "Still, I'd recommend it, and found myself enjoying it."
Weird.
So yeah, I'll watch these impressions, and try to ignore the reviews. Hopefully it's better than reviewers are giving it credit for.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Trying to catch up (thinking either RPG or survival horror)

Been playing a lot of WoW, been neglecting the poor 360. Now I'm probably a year behind on the good stuff that's out. Would like to catch back up a little.
What's been out in the way of survival horror or RPGs? Working now through Lost Odyssey. Pretty solid so far, only complaint is the long gaps between save points. Before that was Bioshock, amazing game. What else has come out that might have slipped under the radar since the beginning of the year?

Hey guys. Need quick advice.
Only about an hour into the game. I came to a point where I was on my way to get Michelle for the first date. Roman called and needed help. Me being foolish, thought that I could do the date first (since I was on my way), then go back to help Roman. Well, I end up picking him up from the hospital. So I completely missed that chance, and the autosave won't let me go back. I'm going to restart (since I'm only beginning). But in the future, how do you prevent this? Turn off autosave? Turn off the cell phone?

Super human strength: I'm short, and athletic (but not bodybuilder type). Yet somehow I can bench press twice my weight. People who come over sometimes make bets with their buddies who don't know me about how much I can lift. It's usually pretty funny.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / DS or PSP?

First off, sorry if I missed any earlier discussions. Didn't mean to bring up dead horses, if that's the case. I saw discussions on a lot of the games, but not the actual systems.
Hmm, maybe I'll wait just a bit longer. I'd love to get the DS, but I don't have a PS2, and if they're going to be releasing some PS2-style RPGs for the PSP, that's what I'd really love.

Was looking at maybe getting a handheld sometime soon. I've seen the articles, the comparisons, etc. But I have not heard from the almighty GT collective. What do you have, and why?
I'm leaning toward the DS, for sheer cost reasons. But are there killer apps for the PSP that are worthwhile? Is the movie feature really nice?
Anyway, opinions?

Funny how fast the sports world will jump from team to team if they think they can create a story. This drives me absolutely nuts. I swear, during some of the Colt games, I think the announcers and interviewers forget who they were playing. It's all "Colts, Colts, Colts". I'm thinking, "They are playing someone else, aren't they?" Now I can see it shifting to "Patriots, Patriots". Ick. I have nothing against the Patriots, but it does get old seeing one team dominate.
