Anyone ever play this "family friendly" table top adventure game?  I read a couple reviews for it and they seemed good, but for $75 I'd rather hear a good word from someone I trusted before I shelled out "New XboX game" dough.

I have started trying to farm the Keywardens for the key pieces.  The endgame is alot different than the 1-59 grind.  Monster Power adjustment makes a big difference too, both for loot and balance gameplay. As with all multiplayer game, it is more fun with the right mix of people.

Buffalo actually has some potential this year. As a lifelong Lions fan, I know potential when other teams have it... Looking forward to the week 2 matchup with your 49ers, even tho I have it penciled in as a loss on my predictions. I don't see the Lions gelling as a team until we have at least a minimal threat to run the ball when Leshore returns in week 3.

Ok, I know it's a kids movie.... but I saw the trailer last week and, as a gamer, it gave me flashbacks.  Watching the scene filled with all the old classic arcade baddies in a therapy circle had me smiling for the rest of the day.

I have always felt like a peripheral member of the forums. I don't read them during the day and I rarely post on a thread.  I have been fairly active in the online gaming part of the group. EQ1 as a Gone Golder, SWG and WoW as a Wanderer, MW2, Black Ops as a GTer.  I may be doomed to remain a forum lurker, but I do appreciate that your all here. Heck I came to this forum for over a year before I realized there WAS a main page.

They should immortalize your character in a hardcore hall of honor.  How nervous were you as you leveled up from 58, 59 and 60? Were you avoiding elite packs, or just business as usual?

Nervous at points, certainly. There was one point below the fort in act III where I saw an elite pack and called it a night, but aside from that I never avoided a pack the entire way (at no time did I engage a pack then not kill it or skirt one on a map). I had two absolutely epic battles with shaman groups crossing the bridge on the way to Siegebreaker. One was shielded, jailer, arcane enchanted, and half that fight took place in one of the stairwells, which was insane. The other was an illusionist group, don't recall the other mods. The first one had to have gone on for close to 5 minutes. I didn't kite all that far, but because they were shielded, I would stay back a bit (because of the beams) and leap in to try and do damage in bursts. The problem with that was they would jail me and my whirlwind would come to a halt.

There were a couple of points in the 50s where I had 2-3 packs in a row that nearly killed me and I had to rethink my gear. Usually I could find an upgrade to get some more health somewhere, then I had a bit more security for awhile. It wasn't unusual to be at risk, but if I was a whisker away from death multiple times, I knew I had to change something.

I have my hardcore DH up to 36, and I have had one or two elite packs get me nervous.  I do notice when my gear needs upgrading as I tend to have to work too hard for some packs.  How far did you get in your hardcore questline? I'm act2 nightmare and I'm considering staying there for a couple more levels until I can gear up a little more.

Hopefully for the DVD release they will cleanup some of the dialog volume. I missed what Stark said to Cap when he got a lift too. Otherwise it was OK for me even in my crappy small town theater as they had it cranked up volume-wise.

Also:
Spoiler for Hiden:
Who was that at the end of the first credit sequence? I never really was into comics so I don't have a prior background knowledge.

Am I the only person that uses subtitles whenever watching a movie on dvd?  It can add a bit to the movie since quite often non audible statements are a part of the script and thus get subtitles.

The Coulson/Card thing

Spoiler for Hiden:
Yeah, we did see Coulson's body with Nick Fury standing over it when he died.  The cards thing was clearly a trick by Nick Fury, which the chick was calling him on and Fury reacts accordingly.  If Coulson is in Spiderman, it's before this happened.  If Coulson is magically alive, he is no longer purely human.

Spoiler for Hiden:
Nope.. We saw him lose consciousnees/appear to die, then the medics show up, then Fury says over the radio that the medics called it... Minor thing, but we didn't see the medics call it or give up....
I could see Fury lieing about this to give him an opening for the card trick..

Spoiler for Hiden:
When Coulson is lying on the ground, dying, he even mentions to Fury that they needed something like this to draw them together.  Faking his own death was practically his own idea.  Besides he is a pretty likeable character and the most prominent character to appear in basically all the recent Marvel movies. He cant be dead.

Hmm, are you sure she isn't married or in some sort of relationship already?  Sounds to me like she may be interested in the physical aspects of a relationship without the risks of having an emotional relationship. If your just hooking up then it might give plausable deniability to any work related inquests into a relationship.

Spoiler for Hiden:
she is supposed to go with rickon in one direction... AND NEVER BE SEEN AGAIN FOR 2-3 BOOKS   icon_lol

and the frogs go with bran - actually the frogs could be slightly older or replaced by another character... and bran's scenes will probably be a total of 15 minutes screen time the next two seasons - i exaggerate of course)

Spoiler for Hiden:
I remember Rickon from the books but I think he has already disappeared, never to be seen again, from the series...
I expect them to either tag Rickon along with Bran or drop him off at an aunts house somewhere, as the most memorable part that he had in the series to date was the shared dream of his fathers death, and that's already happened.

I just hope the villain is a bit more complicated, interesting, motivated than Nero.

My Nero impression is:
"I'm CRAZY! I HATE YOU! YOU KILLED MY PEOPLE! YOU MUST DIE! EVERYONE MUST DIE"
Lather, rinse, repeat. Never mind why his crew wouldn't just mutiny and off their fearless whack job leader.

And I've seen Eric Bana do great work. Munich. Much of Oliver Stone's Troy unintentionally made me laugh when I saw it in theaters in 2004, but I thought Bana's performance was the best thing in it. But he didn't have much to do in ST but frouth at the moth and *see above, repeat ad nauseam*

Watch the deleted scenes on the Blu Ray version. It adds some depth and direction to Nero, although not a ton. But it at least explains what he was doing in between the beginning of the movie and the finale.

You would think so, but I'm convinced that it's my decision that is determining where the enemy team comes from.  I am controlling the other team's actions, but only to hasten my own untimely demise.

I feel the same way.  No matter what direction I go, I get shot in the back from 3 dudes.

The answer is simple. Play with GTers and move as a unit.  When you have team members that you can trust flanking you then you know that your covered.  If someone somehow kills your teammate that's covering your flank they will let you know in chat, at high volume, for close to an hour...  retard

I spent 10 months actively looking for houses a year ago and it was a draining experience.  I had offers in on 9 separate houses over that time and even lost out a "last and best" situation where we were the highest offer by %10 when the listing agent decided to buy it... Unethical? yes, apparently not illegal. But after a long long search I am thrilled with the house I ended up with. Just happened to walk into it at the right time and scooped it up before the vultures got to it.  Keep plugging away, its a buyers market and there are tons of houses out there. Your perfect house is still a possibility.

Dethaw?

de - to undo, reverse
thaw - to melt.

I have to say though, unlike Game of Thrones (I don't have HBO but I read up on it), where a popular actor/character's death can just shock a lot of folks to the bone, you know our two leads in Breaking Bad aren't gonna get offed. They may get maimed, injured, brutalized and everything but; I just don't see the show killing them off until whenever the series ends (if at all). So when they're in a really nasty situation, you figure either someone else will get offed, or one of those two will "just" get maimed.  paranoid

Not really a criticism so much as an observation.  icon_smile

Actually I believe that Jesse was originally scheduled to die in season 1, but the writers/producers liked the chemistry between Walt and Jesse so much they decided to spare him.

I'm just excited to see how far Cranston's character goes down to road to darkness. I would love to see how much he lets Heisenburg make the decisions for a while, and I need to see how Skylar follows him along.  Tiny step by tiny step she is justifying spending the money and trying to distance herself from where it comes from but as it gets easier for her to use the money it gets easier to justify what he does to get it.

11 loved it.  6 year old thought it was ok and that the ending was "stupid".  Special needs 9 year old spent the whole time trying to get away and then playing with my cell phone.

So.. 1 thumbs up, 1 thumb horizontal, and 1 thumb down.

Agreement that this is Pixar's weakest property.  But things like the Incredibles and Ratatouille just don't generate the same kind of cross market revenue. There is no end to Cars' merchandising.

My 5yr old liked it, but the 2yr old got bored after an hour and started trying to play with him so he lost focus at the end.  I watched it, wasn't too bad, but since I know that once it's on dvd I will see it 100 times, I reserve the right to change my mind about that.

I see Cars as being more about the merchandise and less about the movie itself. It's all about the opportunity to sell toys. Generally, Pixar movies have something both for kids and adults, but I feel this is the one franchise where that ideology fails. I think what makes it a difficult concept for me to accept is the fact that, in this world, the world is devoid of any human contact and somehow ruled by cars. I don't mean to get into the technical aspects of why this is, but it's one of things about it for me that prevent it from being watchable, at least to me. I guess it's similar to Thomas The Tank Engine, which is again something for very young kids which uses a similar concept. So, this movie will likely make loads of money like the first one made, mainly due to the kids and the merchandise. And I hear it was moreso Disney that wanted a sequel, where they originally didn't want to do one.

Now that Disney owns Pixar outright get used to sequels and decisions made purely for financial reason as opposed to the artistic freedom that Pixar enjoyed for its first 10 movies.  Of the entire Pixar library, only Toy Story has any footprint in the merchandising segment at all, apart from Cars.  If you consider that Toy Story has 3 movies out and Cars was a single less popular movie,  its pretty impressive that Cars sells so many toys.  Disney has made a commitment to not making ANY movies that don't either cross over into massive merchandising or set up as massive tent-pole movies capable of multiple sequels.

Wow, is that misinformed.

The guy who runs Disney Animation is John Lasseter who was the one who drove Pixar to artistic freedom and success.  He's been turning the company around for years, too.

The only person Lassiter answers to is CEO Robert Iger, but he can pretty much do as he pleases.

So Lassiter's idea was for Pixar to do 3 sequels in a row? Toy Story 3, Cars 2, Monsters University..
