OK so I finally saw that legendary gift sitting in my inventory but I didn't know how to send it lol.  Does anyone know if it's scaled to when the receiving player opens it, or when it was generated by the giver?

Also wondering in an online MP game, what happens if there are 3 or 4 players but 1 of them opens their pause menu - does the whole game pause for everyone or are the remaining players still able to play?

I know that when I got my first gift from TiLT it was a level 11 item and I wasn't high enough to use it yet, so I don't think it scales to the person receiving it.  Although, I wonder what would happen if someone way lower level than you generated it...seems a waste to send a level 10 item to a level 50, for instance.  Maybe it always keeps it around your level or a little higher.

Rittchard, how did that work?  Did a legendary drop for you in-game and a duplicate was auto-sent to me?  Did the game notify you that it was sent?  Anyway, thanks!

It happened really fast, I just saw a note that a gift was sent to Torfish.  I don't know if it was a duplicate or not, but I was playing a Witch Doctor as well so maybe....

If this is what happened, you never sent that legendary. The game doesn't auto-send them. When you find a gift legendary, the game auto-assigns it to someone on your friends list that you have no control over, but you have to manually send the item by going to your inventory and clicking it.

You don't actually have to go into inventory.  You can use the d-pad up thing to cycle to it and you can hit send from there.

Oh, well if you didn't like Diablo 3 the first time, you'll likely not like it.  I mean, they changed things that improved things for people who enjoy Diablo, but if you don't like hack n slash games with phat lewt, you're not going to like the game no matter what system it's on.

Downloading it right now for Vita.  I pre-ordered all 4 of the Indie games for that Play promotion since they all looked great.

Got to level 20 in one evening of casual (listening to the crappy story) solo play at Expert difficulty as a wizard. The campaign in this game is actually really long, which becomes especially noticeable when you're trying to reach Adventure mode. Tongue

Got a level 11 legendary mojo from you.  Weren't sure if you manually sent it or if it was from the feature where if something drops for you then it can drop for your friends.

Oh my. I'm hooked again. Controller works amazingly well. Better than I ever thought they could pull it off. Glorious HD. From my couch.

Less clicking, more streamlined. Just as fun as on the PC.

This may be as close as I'll ever get to gaming perfection.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I really like it as well, but I do notice that I can't be as precise as the PC version with its mouse ability to target precisely what you want to target.  I love the experience of playing from the couch, though.

By the way, if you're like me and couldn't find the pauldrons that come with the game (this is PS4...not sure what is on XBO), then what I had to do was quit Diablo, go to Settings>PSN>Restore Licenses.  Once that finished, I loaded Diablo back up and had the pauldrons in my inventory.

Now, if only Blizzard didn't have stuff down for maintenance, so I can link my game to my Battle.net account.

I don't have first-hand experience, but the reviews I've read say that the controller UI works really well and some people even prefer it to the PC version.

Oh, I do remember that Jeff on Giant Bomb said that he likes the PC interface better when I was watching their Quick Look.  Mostly because you can see more and more easily access things in menus because it's got mouse control whereas they had to change things up a bit for the console version just to make it better to navigate and not be tiny on a TV screen.

I can probably find this in reviews, but is the only difference between the PC and PS4 versions going to be controller support or are there other fundamental gameplay changes?

Also, does the UI of the PS4 version better suit a TV than the PC version would if I were doing big picture mode with my PC?

Not sure on the UI, but I can tell you about differences between the PS4 version and the PC version:

Whenever a legendary drops for you, there is a chance something will also drop for people on your Friends list.

There's the Nemesis mechanic where if a monster kills your character, there is a chance that it can level up, turn into a different creature, gain new abilities and jump into a portal (and out of your game). Later on that same monster can show up with ominous music in your friend's game, with a name making it clear that it was the monster that killed your character. If the monster kills your friend's character, it gets even more powerful, and can go on to someone else on their friends list! If the monster is killed, there are Player Gifts that can be sent back to the character who it originally killed.

A player mail system where you can send items to people on your Friends list.

Dodging

Apprentice Mode which boosts lower level players when they’re playing with higher level players

It's not a teaser that's designed to be completed. You play it until you can't figure out how to keep going, and then stop. The devs didn't expect anyone to complete the teaser within the first week, and people still haven't fully agreed on how you actually solve the game.

I'd say more it was designed to require internet collaboration to finish.  Think an actual video game of an ARG like I Love Bees.

It's also totally worth checking out even just for a bit to get a sense of the the atmosphere etc that they can accomplish, it's a pretty impressive little package, and everyone with a PS4 should load it up and make at least a few loops of the corridor.

Everyone always talks about how scary Amnesia is, but I think this thing is about 50x creepier than Amnesia and it's a mere interactive teaser.  When I saw Kojima was going to do this thing, I was really excited because he has had some cool ideas in the MGS games and I think in a horror game he could go even deeper.

Ehh... I've kind of soured on the Pathfinder card game. It just didn't have enough mechanics for my group and especially not enough player interaction. It's not a game like Hearthstone, I don't see automating the die roll helping.

I enjoy the card game quite a bit.  The thing that a computer can do for you is be in charge of the rules so that you don't have to think about them.  A good translation of an existing board or card game takes care of all that stuff for you so that you can focus on strategy and playing.  I play it a good bit with my daughter and we love it.

One year I am going to make it there.  I always go to PAX, which obviously isn't board game focused, but at least has some of it.  Still, I want to bathe in the glory that is GenCon.

Is PAX Prime low on boardgames?  PAX East practically has a football field dedicated to it.  I had a lot of fun just wandering around to different "teach this game" tables.

It has all that stuff.  Just low compared to GenCon. slywink  Although, I will say that the setup at East is better than Prime.  The Seattle convention center is smaller and so they don't have that huge area for tables (they have smaller areas).

The game I am really looking forward to is Bayonetta 2. I loved the first one and played the hell out of it on the Xbox 360, so the Wii U will be worth it just for the sequel.

You also get a version of Bayonetta on the WiiU with it.  I imagine it will run better than the 360/PS3 version.

Made it to Level 8 last night, which is the max of the beta.  Definitely really enjoyed my time with it, but I think I will stop playing the beta and wait for the full game to come out.  I saw a friend of mine playing last night and joining him through the game UI was a piece of cake, which I really loved.  Gameplay is fun and the menus and artwork have that wonderful Bungie polish.  Beta definitely sold me on the game.

Got 4 weekend passes.  I'm going to PAX Prime this year for the 8th year in a row and went to PAX East for the first and only time this year (just wanted to experience it and now that there's a South in San Antonio, I will likely go to that).  I have a brother-in-law who lives in San Antonio, so have free room.  I've taken my son to Prime the past few years and this will be my daughter and wife's first time to go to one.
79  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Confessions of an Xbox One addict on: July 02, 2014, 07:40:50 PM
I use my XBO to watch TV and to easily turn on my TV and receiver if I want to play games (which I rarely do on the XBO) on the PS4 and Wii U.  I definitely think the UI has improved over time and the voice commands have gotten better.  I still have issues with resuming games that have been put on standby.  Dead Rising 3 seems to be the biggest offender and if I leave that game to do something else or put the console in standby and resume, I pretty much always have to quit out of the game and launch it fresh.  I have a feeling these issues with resume are why Sony has yet to release theirs.  They probably can't get it to work consistently from standby and therefore aren't putting it out.

I will play more games on XBO when some better games come out.  Titanfall didn't grab me and I thought I'd play more Plants vs. Zombies, but I don't.  I bought Dead Rising 3 and Forza at launch and I've barely played Forza and took a long break from Dead Rising, though I have played it a little recently.  Honestly, I bought the console for the TV integration for my family and for the Below game from Capy, so still waiting on Below.  I think the next major release I will buy is maybe Forza Horizon 2 and if not that, then Fantasia.  There were some interesting XBO Indies coming, but not sure when.  PS4 will continue to be my multiplatform release system.

Probably will get The Swapper on Vita even though I enjoyed the game and beat it on PC, just to support Indie games on Vita.
