It didn't blow me away, but I think part of it was that it was very hard to tell what on earth was going on for the first half hour.  Once things started to become more clear I become more engaged and they also gave a good amount of hints about what the upcoming storyline is going to be (what happened with "Alpha"). Although that story seems a lot like what they did with Bionic Woman. We'll see.

If they got rid of the friendships then I can deal with the cops. Having to keep up the friendships made parts of the game a chore, and was one of the only bad things in the game.

Was there any friendship you had to keep up?  I just stopped answering my phone altogether when I wasn't on a mission and I feel like nothing bad happened.

well,i kept them all happy until i got them all 100%,got the achievement and then pretty much never spoke to them again...not sure if you have to keep them like over 75% so you can do their missions

If you keep them happy you get their perk, some which are valuable and some which are not.
7163  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: I never ever trade in games. Do you? on: February 14, 2009, 01:01:24 AM
I never traded anything in for the longest time. Then I started budgeting to pay off debt and I looked over on my shelf and saw a whole mess of games that I knew I would either never play or never play again and I bit the bullet. I didn't trade in at Gamestop, though, I use Goozex. It doesn't have the same level of instant gratification, but you get so much more value for your games that it's worth it. I still hang on to a select few games - older stuff I really love (Ratchet and Clank for PS2, for example) and new stuff if there is a really strong multiplayer component that is likely to get played in the next year (Call of Duty 4/5) or DLC expected (GTAIV, Burnout Paradise).

At this point I have enough points stored up that I can easily trade for older 360/PS3 games if I get the urge for something, and since I'm not really spending any money on games I don't feel bad when a really big multiplayer title comes out and I want to drop $60 on it. I pre-ordered Killzone 2, for example. Sure, I don't get to play some of the single player games until they become readily available for trade (I'll probably have wait another month to get my hands on the new Prince of Persia and Tomb Raider, for example), but that's not a big deal to me.

I popped the original Killzone back in tonight to refresh my memory a little bit. Someone mentioned the head bob, and wow, I totally didn't remember it being that severe.

My wife wanted us to host a foster dog from a shelter.  I agreed.  We cleaned him up, got him to a healthy weight, and even got him potty trained (he has a small bladder and didn't know how to control it when we got him).  We had him for several months but no one expressed any interest in him.  Then one day someone from the agency sent my wife some questions about him and my wife instantly asked, "Can we keep him?"  I think she was on the verge of tears, so I said yes.

I'm a sucker, but it's hard to resist.  That being said, my wife is banned from ever going into a pet store except to buy food.

My sister-in-law hosted a CCI dog which she would have had to give up except for the fact that it failed the "test" (it was afraid of stairs or cars or something). But there are people that do it over and over again with the dogs starting as puppies. No idea how they can do it.

Congrats on finishing it!

I made more progress in the factory, and am just about out. Unfortunately, I'm stuck.

Spoiler for Hiden:
Not really looking for a hint yet, but I can't find/dislodge a fuse to get out of the place. Been running around now for a half hour. I can see a fuse, but when I try to take it, I get electrocuted. I can't cut off the current either, and my partner isn't offering any help. I'm wondering if there is a different fuse I'm supposed to get, but I've looked pretty much everywhere.
Baffled.
OK, I won't give you a hint biggrin

I thought of a possible solution today as I was working my way through the day. I'll give it a try tonight...

Spoiler for Hiden:
I'm thinking that maybe I'm supposed to use Pey'g's (sp?) special boots that I found.

Does telling not to bother doing something count as a hint? Too late. I won't tell you the answer, but I will say you might want to check a guide before long because I think you are going to get frustrated.

If they are going by dollars spent it makes sense that RB2 would be lower than RB1 since the instruments work with both games.  I personally bought RB1 for $150, but only spent $60 on RB2.  I would think many people who bought RB 2 just bought the game by itself instead of the bundle.

Agree, I was just going to suggest the same thing.

What I heard was 20 hours for this download - that way it is equal in value to the 60 hours you got for the $60 you paid for the original game.

EDIT: just did a little googling, and some places say 12-20 hours. So it probably depends on how you play the game. Perhaps there are optional things like races, etc. as in the original game.

and the spoiler:
Spoiler for Hiden:
Niko appears at some point in the game

Spoiler for Hiden:
oh yeah i noticed that and Rockstar said that the voice actor wouldnt be doing any dialogue for this DLC,a falling out i think after the guy who did his voice started to complain about how much money he got

so,he either doesnt say that much or they had already recorded his voice and maybe cut it out of the retail game and put it back in now

there are some missions that cross paths with the original story, like the one where Nico, Playboy X and the biker (I forget his name but he's the one you play as) have to escape a SWAT team when a drug deal goes bad thanks to an undercover cop and then they split up with Nico/Playboy going one way and you the other, so chances are they'll use the stuff recorded for GTA IV for those rare occassions.

Ah, crap, how am I going to escape the cops without my lawyer girlfriend? smile

Even though it's been quite a few years since I played it, certain very helpful things came back to me. I also didn't go after every single pearl - I completely skipped the races, for example.

If you don't pick up a pearl in the first part of this mission, is there any way to get it later on? Without giving too much away, I killed something very large that dropped a pearl. I forgot to get it, and now I'm well past that area. I don't want to reload an earlier save unless I really have to, but I don't want to run out of pearls later and then be really screwed.

Yes, and someone will make reference to where it is. And you didn't forget to get it, you really can't get it until later.

Also, don't freak if you don't get a pearl here or there. You'll find out why after you finish the factory.

I've played maps where I didnt' get in a single tank the whole match and tanks are still super easy to kill.  I really don't understand the viewpoint that says they are unkillable.  The average Live scrub doesn't have a chance against a tank, but that doesn't have to be true to anyone in this forum because we've already told you the secrets to killing them easily.

Well sure, if you can walk up behind a tank and toss a satchel under it it will blow up. But my problem is getting anywhere near the tank to do so without getting shot by either an enemy or that tank.  My only satchel kills have been when I have dropped one out in an area that tanks normally pass through and laying in wait. Stickies a bit easier because they can be thrown from cover, but the tank needs to have been worn down a bit. Rockets are a bit harder because they really require you to come out of cover.

Absolutely love Chicago dogs. However, since Nathan's hot dogs and sauerkraut exist, I can't deem them "the only way to eat a hot dog".

If Fed Ex screwed up after it left, I don't see how you can blame PDP as they would have no idea what was going on. It would seem that if this was a common thing PDP would have changed the packaging. Sounds like Fed Ex dropped a piano on it or something. The fact that they attempted to deliver a package that was damaged to the point of leaking is pretty stupid. They should have contacted the seller when that happened.

Was watching this last night on Boomerang. I can't believe when I was little this show seemed plausible. For example, in one show, one of the Herculoids enemies comes along and shrinks them down in order to have them fight some microscopic creatures. His reasoning being that if his microscopic creatures win, then he will shrink down the rest of the universe and enslave them. Nevermind that he could just shrink down the whole universe anyway, regardless of what happens to the Herculoids. Or he could have just stepped on the Herculoids.

In another episode, they catch a bad guy and put him in a rocket with big letters on the side reading "PRISON ROCKET". That was just kind of funny. Also, in the other episode, Mr. and Mrs. Herculoid are sleeping together under a blanket, which I thought was pretty progressive for a kids show.

I don't know, when I watch old episodes of Superfriends, it doesn't seem quite as far fetched.
