I loved Metal Arms, and the guys from Swinging Ape Studios are really talented. It's good to know that the game is going to get back on track, and that SAS will be possibly making more Blizzard themed titles for consoles.!

I don't want to post the whole listing here, but you can certainly find it at cheapassgamer or fatwallet. CC is having a huge clearance on some decent games, and not all of them have been found yet.

Today I got 13 games for 65 bucks.

Hard to find ones too like Megaman Zero for GBA for 4.99!

I've read in Egm, Game Informer and Gamepro that the voice acting is Okay to good. I guess it depends on the listener...

Eitherway I'm still IN, I can't play regular turn base RPGs anymore, I fall asleep, so action battles sound great to me.
3248  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Game Discussion: Mega Man Anniversary Collection [PS2/Xbox] on: June 24, 2004, 03:25:52 AM
Just to give you all a heads up, this isn't the MegaMan that you remember, these are kinda updated versions of the games. Pretty much we're getting the true Rockman japanese versions, which are considerably tougher.

In the first Mega Man I've seen different enemies allready and a whole different feel to some stages. It's a lot tougher than I expected.

Only let downs for me are 1: No remixed music in game on the Cube, can get over it because I like the classic music, 2: You have to beat the first game to unlock the next one. Atleast that's the way it seems. God I know right now that I am going to have some serious issues with Wily's castle. Mega Man was a tough game when I was in my prime, and it's only tougher with the Rockman remixes...

3250  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Game Discussion: Driv3r on: June 22, 2004, 03:42:44 AM
After reading the Gamespot and IGN reviews, my interest in this game went from 0 to negative 10. Just confirmed what I was thinking, it didn't look like anything special and it seems like a waste of what was a fairly good game in driver 2.
3251  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Tales Of Symphonia GOLD! on: June 22, 2004, 03:38:44 AM
I'm gonna try and finish off Full Spectrum, Tenchu, Killswitch and Breakdown and I'll be able to pick this one up...

I like the battle system, from what I've seen. It has a similiar vibe to the rest of the Tales series as well as to the dev team's roots from making Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile.

It looks like an extremely solid game.

You gotta check out all the options you can give your party in regards to AI, as well as having tha ability to control them, or have a friend step in and help you out in battles...

I think I am gonna preorder it so I can get the Artbook with it.

3253  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Next Nintendo console VGA compatible out of the box. on: June 11, 2004, 02:32:02 AM
Personally I think that within two generations we'll have serious large and affordable solid state media. Hell you can get 40 gb HDs for how cheap now?

On top of that IBM has allready developed quarter sized 1 gig drives about 2 or 3 years ago, so I don't see this being too far off.
3254  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Mega Man on: June 10, 2004, 10:43:25 PM
Mania is for the GBA and is all the GB game. Anniversary is for the Cube and is all the NES, SNES and PSX games, not including the X series.

Ron we were only joking around. They aren't going back to carts.

The only, and I mean ONLY, hard fact we know about revolution is that it will be VGA compatible out of the box.

If you look at the "leaked"  and rumored specs that Nintendo has been considering, it's only disc media and probably a harddrive. Just like Microsoft they're contemplating a dual processor system and a helluva lot of power and ram. In fact the systems that they're both considering seem oddly similiar. Add onto that nintendo's interest in XNA and you can put that in the old rumor pipe and smoke it up ! smile

3257  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Have PS2 Sales peaked? on: June 10, 2004, 01:21:14 AM
Yeah the Ps2 library is daunting, I've bought one twice because of it, but each time I realized that as much as I saw games I wanted to play I never played them and never got the motivation too do so...

It was very odd, lots of great looking RPGs, Platformers and whatnot, yet I'd play em once or twice never really get hooked by any of them.

I've had quite the opposite happen with the Cube and Xbox games. I think I just like the feel of the Cubetroller more than anything with the system, and well XboxLive is more than enough to keep me involved in games.

I don't think that the PS2 has peaked either, it'll go to 99, probably get a PSOne type remodel and then end up 50 bucks. It'll still sell like gangbusters and it will totally feed the PS3 beast.

Time and Time again? WTF

I busted your balls once, and was completely on the right in the last thread.

This time you got me, but it's not like I was going out and personally attacking you. You proved with the doom thread that you mis-read and mis-interpret things.

Right now it's looking like you can't realize when you make a mistake.

I can, you got me on this. I was pretty certain that they made a supposition on this one. I should've been more thorough and checked up on myself. I knew I was leaving myself open. I can admit when I make mistakes.

However, two threads, maybe two or three replies to you personally, does not count as time and time again.

I have no personal beef with you.

And for the record I love XBN, maybe you should look at my post history, for the thread Titled something like "XBN is the best xbox mag period!"

One quote of interest however;

Quote
Nintendo's next-generation console, of course, was the hottest topic of discussion. Currently known by the code-name "Revolution," it's still on track for a debut at next year's E3, Iwata reiterated. Echoing Nintendo's party line for the past year, he explained that the company's next console isn't focused on simply improving graphics and sound technology. "However it might have been in the past," Iwata said, "increased hardware efficiency isn't connected to the consumer's enjoyment anymore."

Now this kinda sorta clears up some confusion I was having. In the past it seemed like Nintendo wasn't really going to do anything with more powerful technology, and yet here it seems that from this conference Iwata is saying that we won't just have a more powerful new machine but new/different stuff to do with it as well.

That alleviates some fears I had, as I honestly thought Nintendo was going backwards in the next gen. Of course it still doesn't look like they'll have online functionality though which is dissapointing because I love LIVE.

Also, I think Iwata really hits a big point hard. Better hardware doesn't exactly equal better games. Look at the PS2, it still has some incredibly pretty games coming out now, it's considered the weakest of this gen's machines, but tons of people continue to have great times playing games on it. Even in the face of superior hardware and technology the PS2 has survived and I think that's something that's important to take note of.

Eitherway, the VGA capability out of the box, and from what I've seen about rumored specs and how Nintendo isn't completely abandoning new technology, at the least makes me interested in their next system again. I was ready to write it off after E3 and the past few months.

Once again DD misquotes and mis-reads XBN, they say that it was possibly, could've been, might have been, rumored to have been the DX Shooter... Something to that effect. But as other threads have shown DD definately takes stuff way out of context...
3262  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Sudeki [Xbox] on: June 08, 2004, 02:20:04 AM
never really been too interested in it at all. Couldn't get past the too stereotypical character types, and from what I've seen of the gameplay it doesn't seem to bring anything new to the table.

Solid game it may/will be but first day purchase it will not be.

I also tend to shy away from games that it feels like the media is practically forcing me to buy. Make sense?  I mean yeah Xbox doesn't have a lot of RPGs out now, doesn't mean I need to fall over for every halfassed action rpg that comes around. I think that too much has been said about the game allready and it was shown too early that it may have lost a lot of it's impact.
3263  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Investment Challenge: Summer 2004 on: June 08, 2004, 02:15:14 AM
I won this thing twice,Once for a state competition and once in my highschool, in Highschool and came damned close to beating my college finance professor as well.

If you're serious about it, read OTC and those other lame faxes that come through and play penny stocks. You make a couple thousand every few days and start banking it. Very soon  you buy bluechips and big boys and before you know it you're ranking the top 50. Of course nothing is guaranteed. However it was definately a fun diversion.

Goodluck to all of you. I would but I don't want to keep up with it.

Just in case anyone was still wondering here's the text from the magazine:

DOOM 3
Synopsis:
You're on Mars. Demon Aliens have teken over the space station. Kill them all, in the dark, with lots of guns.

Psychic Prediction:
This is interesting. Let me see. I expected to find more to do with money and the game to be a big moneymaker. This one is really weird. They may put some tricks in the game to make it more complex and compensate for its..I don't know. There might be some hidden levels or more than one way to get through this game. It seems like there might be a few optional ways to finish it. The review of the game, by the people.. it's not going to play out as well as people expected. Maybe there was too much expectation. I predict it will be good but not fabulous. If they've built in some twists, that's good. I don't know if technology has advanced enough. i think maybe the sales will be dissapointing.

Psychic's predicted score: 5/10

Hmm. Doesn't look or sound like a review. Sounds like the psychic was using tarot cards to predict the future of the game.

Eitherway I apologize again to the posters in the thread. I got upset with the original post and took it out on everyone. Sorry.

hey I realized I was way too beligerent(sp?) in my first post. Don't really know why I got so irritated, I edited out the "dipshits" because it was completely inappropriate.

But with the internet, once you're quoted you're screwed.

Eitherway I hope you all will accept my apologies for over-reacting to what amounts to really nothing important.

yeah because you know they record hits in a magazine...

Look, until you read the article howabout you keep it zipped, that goes for everyone. If you haven't read it you really can't comment.

It was a joke article, to be funny, nothing serious, god you guys are just.... I'm not even going to comment anymore, I just find it sad that you guys will argue over something as trivial as this without even reading the subject material in question.

You haven't read the magazine you can't truly comment on the article. It's nothing serious the psychic makes comments on a bunch of future games, especially ones they'd know nothing about. Any comment made by the psychic would be totally guessing, including the  "twists" comments. You know that's why they're "psychics there diamond, they pull shit out of thin air...

Done, end of conversation. Buy the Mag, it's great magazine, read the article, you'll realize how stupid you looked, and now how stupid I look, for arguing about it on the internet.
3270  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Doom deservedly gets a 5/10 in Xbox Nation on: June 06, 2004, 07:16:20 PM
But it's not even a published opinion, so why do you bring it up? No one actually rated  the game in the magazine. So if it's just by hearsay then who gives a darn?

Read the magazine, the article it sounds like you're referring too is what I posted about above. No one actually saw the game, they asked a psychic to think about the game and give their thoughts, and the psychic thought it'd rate a 5/10

that diamond and I am getting more on the other posters in this thread for not even taking the time to check the information out.

Okay guyts time to actually read the freaking article in question.

XBN does not review Doom 3 in the latest issue.

If you read the damned magazine you'd see that they had a "psychic" predict the score of the game. It was just something fun to read in the magazine this month..

Goddamn some people are total loons. God help us all...

Next time, ALL OF YOU READ THE DAMN MAGAZINE! Xbn is the best Xbox mag out there, do you really think that they'd do this?

And Ron, you know as well as I do that XBN/1up doesn't have to put shit up to get hits, they're one of the busiest game sites on the web.

Stiffler, the more you watch judgement day the more you'll start to realise that Tommy T is a complete moron who outright bashes games for moronic things, like "i didn't get to kill enough hookers, this game sucks.", and is overall a deteriment to what was at one time a decent show.

definately in the mag and employees definately don't know about it.

I actually changed my mind at the last minute and only traded in Ninja Gaiden, Wario World and Pitfall Harry, all of those count for the deal and I knew 1080 counted as well.

So Rage if you have games from the past 3 or 4 months or so you'd be good.

Mario Golf on GBC was like the old NES Golf.

Mario Tennis on GBC, however, was made by Camelot, the same developer for MG of Cube, Mario Tennis on the GBC, 64 and Cube and Mario Golf on the GBA.

So you  may be remembering the Tennis gba game that had an rpg lite style.
