re Europe that is pretty old news - i'm not aware that Euope is still shipping that many Starforce games - at one point it seemed to be them all I'm not that bothered regarding it - but if I have any issue Starforce will always be my first victim. Tals

You didn't properly read my answer, I don't like Starforce but I have no issue with a good or perfect copy protection system (should one ever exist) - unlike i'm afraid some At the same time I see very little point in putting copy protection systems in that hurt the consumer but do very little to the pirate. I also don't see myself installing Vista for the next couple of years at least. Tals

I'm a little different - i'm all for Starforce if it works and it was so close to being a very good copy protection. However it caused issues on peoples pcs - that is the only issue I had with it. I see most copy protection schemes as a total waste of effort which are cracked shortly after (or sometimes prior) to release and just inconvenience the customers rather than the pirates. So if it doesn't work i'd prefer to not have it incovenience me rather than just having as nice tag of copy protected game Tals

OK its growing on me Game certainly seems to be very slick - the whole UI is very nice rounded off by the excellent army controller. Graphics - seem to be very bloomish, anyone know if that can be turned off. Sound is good and the tutorial - whilst a tad boring did cover the main aspects and did it in a reaosnably well written story. Anyway i'll give it some more time over the next few days - see if it can suck me away from COH. Tals

I'm not saying "Cause and effect" but their boards have been down since mid July...right around the time I started my push against them. .... Ok, its a slow news day. When did they post the torrent link to GC2? For me that was the end for them. Tals

Jury is out for me at the mo - not played it a lot - but its a classic resource gathering rts and after COH or even DOW i'm not sure I can go back to harvesting wood/stones etc. Still more play to be had but at the mo its not a patch on COH. The army commander is clever though.

I am going to have to take the plunge. It looks like a really good way to keep track of multiple sites which I often don't feel like clicking all over to read. RSS readers appear to have come a long way since my last flirtation. I probably won't use it for the forum but there are plenty of candidates for the "one-stop shopping" approach.
I use an rss reader to read Bill Harris's excellent blog site http://www.dubiousquality.com - very good Tals

I think probably the palm tx will be the last. But for instance on the move activesync keeps me synced up with the exchange server at work. TCMP plays pretty much every avi that I throw at it so I have usually a few movies loaded up for the trips. The browser (Blazer) as I understand it is one of if not the best browser. Add on top of that its wireless/bluetooth functionality and its pretty sweet. A couple of friends have windows mobile devices (Ipaqa) but they were amazed how easy the palm handled bluetooth/wireless compared with theirs. But yeah probably never agree which one is better

Fucking Tals. Glad to hear this works with a PDA. In the event I ever get one that's good to know. Ron, can you suggest a good brand? I'm not Ron but if you can pull yourself away from MS the Palm TX is very nice - good price for what you get as well. Tals

Could you click on the link at the top that says "Show unread posts since last visit" or do you mean something else?
That is true - although that covers all areas. And remember i'm talking about viewing through the pda web - did I say that rocks At the top level where it lists the forums eg PC Gaming Multiplayer Off topic etc No indication is given if any new articles are in any of those areas since your last visit. So you have to go into each one to see. Could be marked by a * or similar. Not a biggie just useful/nice. Tals

That would be great! - i'm assuming that is something GT devs would have to do? On a side note after a day of useage the pda web access just Rocks. If I had one suggestion - any chance in having an indication at the top level of forum access what forums have new articles - saves having to recheck in the areas I like. Tals

Just in case I am the only one , was playing a game last night and after Guild Wars we all missed the ability to ping the map. Of course the devs haven't missed that crucial aspect - the icons above the map allow you to indicate areas to defend/attack and take - assisted greatly even though we were all on TS. Tals p.s good news re Gold though I believe Euros don't get the game for a further 2 weeks after main release

I don't know why, but this game is slowly falling into "meh" territory for me. Maybe it's just having two sides (which ties into the whole WWII thing). I don't know. I keep playing this game wishing it was Warhammer. Or maybe I'm just burned out on all things WWII. I don't know, but it's just not COMPELLING to me like DoW was. I think I just need to get more games against actual people in, rather than compstomps.
I much prefer this to DOW - maybe its the supply lines or I can emphasise with the units - either way i'm still having a blast. Very much looking forward to the campaigns etc. Tals

Not sure, certainly when I showed it to my daughter it appealed just simply because she coul dnow ride her roller coasters, and wow we both felt sick afterwards. They have never appealed to me in the same way. I guess I prefer shooting things to making things Tals

I've not played either, however currently EQ 2 excites me more than WOW, not sure why and tbh i'm not buying either till i've played it. My rule for MOGs now is they must have a trial before handing over the readies.

Anyone played the demo for Roller Coaster Tycoon 3? It's pretty cool in that the game's in 3D now and you can watch yoursled ride the rides you make. It's a pretty cool upgrade from the old versions if you ask me. It is if it will run on your machine. For a large proportion of people it is borked, so unfortunately for me - whilst I can run it on my machine and i'm moderately excited (on behalf of my daughter mind ) For my daughters machine which is what is critical, it won't currently run so i'm not even thinking about this game till they release a demo that actually works. Talk about shooting one self in the foot, before the demo I had the game on preorder lol. Tals

I'd agree, I think this site has been a great as a place for the GGers to congregate and those amongst them that play on consoles will no doubt stay. However the forums are ultimately to wide covering for me to stick around to long.

I say keep it at the mo Whilst GG has hit these forums it appears to have given it a predominantly PC flavour. Ultimately it will calm down and I certainly don't want to be reading Console gaming news or chat I'm sure there is a place for all of the forums. Tals

Firingsquad said it "may be the best strategy game ever made".
PC Gamer: "Everything we've seen points to it being an epic and brilliant masterpiece"
PC Zone "the most ambitious and all-conquering RTS the world has ever seen"
I concur. It is one of the most amazing game I have played this year. Very immersive, appears to suit either a quick pick up and blast or a longer game time. Totally hooked
