She doesn't need to be naked or airbrushed to be hot. My first thought on seeing this? "Walk like an Egyptian, walk like an Egyptian..."

I would throw the Ford Focus in there as well. Quality on a par with Honda and the SYNC gizmo for tunes and what not. Of course, I'm partial to the Mazda 3, especially in Mazdaspeed guise. You might also consider a Mazda5 if you need some utility with your commute - 3 rows of seats and a dual sliding doors.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!
Still to pumped up and excited. Great game. Nerve racking finish. That hooking call would have been weak in the first period of the regular season but that late in the Finals?! Arrggh. Still, good teams take advantage and the Pens did which made the whole thing that much more tense and exciting.
+1000000000000 Why is it that the two sports with consistently horrendous officiating are NHL hockey, especially playoffs(!) and Big 10 football? And NBC does indeed suck - they should have hired the Hockey Night in Canada crew and let them have at it - Don Cherry in HD, baby!

We used to get it professionally done, but at $300 or so a crack, it ain't happening this year. I did rent a cleaner/vacuum sucker deal at Home Depot for $30 and it did a pretty good job. Enough to put off the big bill for a while, and I can do that almost 10 times for the price of a professional. With two kids, I'll fork over for "pretty good" as it's not going to last long anyway!

It has a great cast (William Hurt as a bad guy is always good) and mediocre FX didn't really hurt Spidey 1 too much. I might actually go to the theater and see this one. Of course, I liked both Fantastic Four movies, so my taste in movies might not be the best. I liked both FF movies as well. I think what most folks miss about the FF is that they have always been a bit more "cartoony" than X-Men, for instance, and this was especially true in the early years. I'm not in love with what they did with Doom, who IMHO is one of the greatest villians in the Marvel rogue's gallery, but it's not a deal breaker. And the Johnny Storm / Thing interplay is spot-freakin-on...

I tend to not like most "crotch rockets" - no GSXR for me, thanks - but the Duc is thoroughbred Italian redhead on two wheels. Only 80 hp, so it's no rocket, but it makes wonderful sounds and is, IMHO, stunning to look at.

I want a Harley. Or possibly a Buell. Or maybe an old Triumph Spitfire. Of course, the wife made the "no bike" rule abundantly clear prior to marriage, so I'm hoping this urge will pass.

So who's the bad guy? Arsenal? War Machine (I hope not, since that would break from the comic)?
Iron Monger, I believe. And it looks like Tony Stark, if not Iron Man, has a cameo in the upcoming Hulk flick.

I'm not a huge Tom Long fan generally (I find most movie critics a bit too "film" for this poor redneck boy) but I have very high hopes for this movie, so I'm inclined to think Mr. Long is right on the money.

...so our trusty $48 combo DVD/VHS has finally bit the dust, freeing the way for us to buy a new one. Since we've got a 42 in plasma HD TV in the living room, it's time to get serious on the feed to it. As I know *zilch* about this stuff, I'm asking for input from the hive mind.
Muchos gracias!

Did you know that there are places where you can actually rent purses? The really high end stuff like Fendi and... I don't know, whatever is high end. On the one hand, that seems like a sign of the apocolypse, but OTOH, I guess in the long run renting a purse instead of buying a new one for every outfit could save money.
Ya know, if you replace "purse" with "wife" in the above statement, it still sort of works. Of course, you can't be governor of New York and still be a renter. I'm just sayin'

I should read through this whole thread. I'm a huge Dark Tower fan and finished the books a few months back.
I was disappointed by the last book, not because of the "Groundhog Day" ending - which I actually find ironic and fitting with Roland's character - but because of the weak final conflict with the Crimson King. The CK is supposed to be one of King's greatest villains, but the battle between him and Roland just wasn't as epic as I would have liked. That's what I found underwhealming.
So funny that this thread popped up again though, seeing as how I just ordered King's re-edit of the first book.
+1 on the CK "battle" - it has been a while since I finished the series (re-read from The Gunslinger on...) and I too found that disappointing, especially after all the buildup in this series and other works (Insomnia, Black House, etc) about what a Class A badass reality-destroyer the Crimson King was supposed to be. I found the ending disappointing, but fitting. How else could it end? It's ka.

"Merlin" is an exciting, hour-long fantasy series set in the mythic city of Camelot -- but inspired by 21st Century storytelling. That statement just screams of "suck."
