holy crap!  I wish there was a Best Buy nearby so I could grab this.  Last time I bought a boxed set of DVD's from the online they shipped it in a plastic envelope and half the disc were scratched up, so no more online DVD purchases from BB for me.

Maybe Amazon has it for cheap...

you found some funny parts in that?

I wanna know how that crap gets made instead of any number of amazing movies that have a good compelling story, but the marketers don't think they will make any money.  Yet, someone thinks this will.

The sad thing is, that someone is probably right.

How could anybody think spaceballs is not funny?

They watched Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles and History of the World Part I and realized what funny was truly about.

How is, "I'm a Mog; half man, half dog.  I'm my own best friend", not funny?  I don't see it.

Because this

Quote
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: What knockers.
Inga: Oh, thank you doctor.

is way funnier.

Quote
Inga: Werewolf!
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Werewolf?
Igor: There.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: What?
Igor: There, wolf. There, castle.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Why are you talking that way?
Igor: I thought you wanted to.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: No, I don't want to.
Igor: Suit yourself. I'm easy

is better than anything in Spaceballs. I promise this is the last derail on this subject from me.

969  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Elder Scrolls Online? on: November 03, 2007, 08:59:46 AM
Not that I want them to divert their efforts from any future SP sequels, but I think that the Elder Scrolls world is excellent for an MMO. It is large and diverse, with many separate regions and architectural and cultural differences, not to mention a few different races. I don't see this as being overly similar to WoW in any way, assuming they go with the current art style that they've established in the last couple of games. Plus, who knows what story they could use to frame the game? LOTRO only allows players to be on one "side", not to mention that they could allow the player to choose a side in the game rather than choosing during character creation. This has been a staple of the ES games and I can't see it being different in this one. Again, I hope that the SP property doesn't suffer from an MMO, but I don't see how this is necessarily doomed to failure or even mediocrity.

I never noticed in game ads in Swat4. Why look, its just your everyday corner of an office building.  thumbsdown (Yeah for hosts file edits!)

If they do it like this its annoying. The ad should blend in to where you don't really notice it like all the ads you walk by daily. Problem is they want it to pop out for people to notice.

Even most TV ad placement is better than this. Normally, the ad is a prop and not in your face focus of the scene. You get a quick Apple ad by seeing the logo while they work on a computer. There aren't dozens of Apples logos in the shot and everyong standing in the scene isn't wearing an Apple shirt while eating apples and listening to their ipods.

I would be annoyed by this pic, but K. Relly is my favorite artist!

I'm playing CSI Hard Evidence right now and the pimpage for Visa is extermely over the top. There are also plugs for Chrysler and even Dyson vacuum cleaners.

997  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Spiderman III- This Friday! on: May 03, 2007, 04:24:03 AM
Saw Spiderman 3 last night (they had a sneak preview here on Osan AB, Korea; it was nice, but it just highlighted how rare it is for us to get new movies in our theater). Anyway, without giving any spoilers away, I'd rate it 2 1/2 stars. Like the Batman films (at least 2-4), there were too many bad guys, but unlike those, this one spent so much time on the hero, that there wasn't any real development of the villains. I would have cut the Sandman and brought Venom into it earlier. The Goblin story was pretty good, but it went south at the end (I don't use this term to describe things I dislike very often because I find it vaguely homophobic, but it really applies to this; the ending battle was gay. Very, very gay). I think 2 will stand as the high-water mark for this series, as it has for others in the past (i.e., Superman, X-Men and Batman; while they may not all have been the pinnacle, they all were quality films). I have yet to see a truly great third film in a superhero series. Oh well, at least I saw it before most people and it was free.

It depends on the Bond; Connery or Craig (judging from his one film) would own him 3 ways from Sunday, but I think my grandma could at least put up a good struggle against Moore or Brosnan.

John might not win that fight, but he'd take home a Bond souvenir...an ear, a finger, something..
