If you want to hear a great singer of country music, Neko Case has an awesome voice and sings some damned fine songs.

Hey KD, this isn't life or death, but there is an ad that I get for a German site/company called "Level R". As it's German, I doubt that you Yanks are seeing it, but everytime I enter your site, it plays a sound effect of a revving engine, and it repeats it every time I click into or out of  a subforum (when that ad is the one displayed, of course). I remembered you writing that you could take certain ads out of the queue, is that right? If so, I would appreciate this one being removed. If it can't be done, then it's not a big deal, just thought that I'd ask. Thanks!

Well - and I realize that it's a newsflash for some - most people develop their sense of right and wrong from the influence of their families. There are certainly some exceptions, but this is how it's done, by and large. I know, shocking!!!

Maybe since the question is one of a moral dilemma, this should be moved to R&P as folks have already unjustly brought the venom against Ed...

Athiests have morals too. The concept of morality is not inherently religious.

I passed one about that size. Regardless of where it falls on the "childbirth" scale, at least women get to name their lump when it exits their body. I just went "ew" and put it in a cup for the doctor to look at. You'll feel better shortly after passage.

Should we also have a holiday for the thieves who steal someone elses bandwith like that?   Show them for what they really are?

Quote from: Brendan on August 22, 2008, 02:47:03 PM

The line that brettmcd's complaining about is just the alt text for the comic on xkcd, not an editorial comment that Disarm added.  There's a better place for you to complain about that, brett.  Let us know how it goes.

Do you do this 'I'm gonna be a contrarian Ogre' act for a schtick or is this how you really are?

No this is how I really feel about people who steal the bandwith others are paying their hard earned money for.   Its not a act or anything like that, just making a comment, my appologies if doing so offended you in some way that you will never recover from.

It did go down, even if it was for just a short period of time.  Since it's been back up, it's had more stability problems then any other gaming websited I visit, including QT3, which has arguably weaker server support despite being far more visited.

I'm betting the standards will be set pretty high for this blu-ray release. I'm expecting good things.

While I understand why you want it to be, I don't really see why it would over any other HBO mini-series/series. Plus, I do not think it has so much to do with how they do the transfer as with the original format and how it was filmed. You can transfer 8mm over to blu-ray, for example, and there is not really much difference.

I don't see why it wouldn't be a high priority, as it is one of HBO's most acclaimed series (mini or otherwise). Considering how well they did on the DVD release of BoB, I bet this one will be pretty damned good.

This post reads like total bullshit to me, but on the off-chance it isn't, here's some advice: grow a pair. Jesus, your post reads like a 15 year old wrote it. Instead of looking for an out to be able to do this (do you really believe that your wife would be fine with this?), man up and ask yourself what you really want. Do you love your wife enough to withstand the enticements of an obvious slut? You want to sleep with her? So what, that just means your equipment all works. Good for you, now you can either dump your wife for the hoochy or try to make it work.

I don't get why people go to such lengths to aviod posting on other boards. I mean, I get having a preference and all, but though I prefer OO overall (at least I did pre-outage; we'll see what it's like now), I'm not going to deactivate my account here or anything drastic. Why change one's email to a fake one and/or ask the mods to wipe one off the forum altogether? Again, I understand preferences, but whatever one thinks of the modding and/or posters at a certain place, how can it be so bad that one has to disable completely access to that site?

Arnir-

1. Create a "Cache" folder in your PS:T folder

2. Copy the contents of disc 2 into the Cache folder

3. Edit the torment.ini file to redirect the game to look for disc 2 data in the Cache folder (it should be at the beginning of the config file; just paste over the path directing the game to your CD drive to the path with the data on your hard disk).

After that, try to install the widescreen mod.

I am as stoked for Eschalon Book II as I am for any upcoming title (including Fallout 3). It wasn't revolutionary, but it was a great game that took what worked from the older isometric RPGs and made it work today. It wasn't flashy, just fun.

Another C64 vet here. I would have to say that my golden age ranged from about '84 to 92, encompassing Ultima 4-7, Autoduel, Ultimate Wizard, and countless other games that I love to this day. It also reminds me of having sleepovers at my cousin's house and playing games all night. Just a lot of great memories that force me to constantly upgrade my PC to this day. Damn you, great games of yesteryear.
