This post reads like total bullshit to me, but on the off-chance it isn't, here's some advice: grow a pair. Jesus, your post reads like a 15 year old wrote it. Instead of looking for an out to be able to do this (do you really believe that your wife would be fine with this?), man up and ask yourself what you really want. Do you love your wife enough to withstand the enticements of an obvious slut? You want to sleep with her? So what, that just means your equipment all works. Good for you, now you can either dump your wife for the hoochy or try to make it work.

I would bet easily on it being WoS. They can set up the backstory for the game with SCII in much the same way WCIII did for WoW.

I don't get why people go to such lengths to aviod posting on other boards. I mean, I get having a preference and all, but though I prefer OO overall (at least I did pre-outage; we'll see what it's like now), I'm not going to deactivate my account here or anything drastic. Why change one's email to a fake one and/or ask the mods to wipe one off the forum altogether? Again, I understand preferences, but whatever one thinks of the modding and/or posters at a certain place, how can it be so bad that one has to disable completely access to that site?

Dennis Quaid predicted it, but NOBODY LISTENED!!!

1. Create a "Cache" folder in your PS:T folder

2. Copy the contents of disc 2 into the Cache folder

3. Edit the torment.ini file to redirect the game to look for disc 2 data in the Cache folder (it should be at the beginning of the config file; just paste over the path directing the game to your CD drive to the path with the data on your hard disk).

After that, try to install the widescreen mod.

I am as stoked for Eschalon Book II as I am for any upcoming title (including Fallout 3). It wasn't revolutionary, but it was a great game that took what worked from the older isometric RPGs and made it work today. It wasn't flashy, just fun.

976  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What years comprise your own "Golden Age" of PC Gaming? on: June 09, 2008, 07:53:15 PM
Another C64 vet here. I would have to say that my golden age ranged from about '84 to 92, encompassing Ultima 4-7, Autoduel, Ultimate Wizard, and countless other games that I love to this day. It also reminds me of having sleepovers at my cousin's house and playing games all night. Just a lot of great memories that force me to constantly upgrade my PC to this day. Damn you, great games of yesteryear.

As an aside, though I agree fully that Chad Johnson is a whiny, selfish prima donna, I don't think that he is in the same category as Pacman and Chris Henry or Michael Vick. Has he even been arrested or suspected of a crime? A lot of players demand trades and threaten to sit out. I'm not saying that he's right in this particular instance, but it's not on par with dogfighting.

Anyone know how much of a spoiler that may (or may not) be?  icon_confused

I've only read about 100 pages into it, but the story about Geralt and the Strega is covered in the opening cinematic. It's not really a spoiler as that doesn't really factor into the actual game plot; it's there to show the player what a witcher does.

Yeah that's pretty much nonsense. A lot of people in the US don't even have access to broadband, and you're talking about physical media being dead and everybody having home fiber optic connections within the next five years. If / when it happens, the US certainly won't be the one leading the pack. I wonder how feasible it would be today for say, Japan or western Europe, though.

I don't know about the rest of Western Europe, but I live about an hour out of Franfurt, and the best I can get in this area (which is hardly backwoods) is a DSL 1000 connection, due to the phone lines. The future may be near, but the infrastructure has yet to catch up. This is undoubtedly true for much of the US, especially in much of the suth and quite a bit of the the rest of the country outside of populated areas that have the cable/phone lines to support it.

aye, the only reason I never played the series is because of the terrible control scheme.

I guess that a case could be made that Highlander is a conceptual and thematic sequel for Showgirls, despite the former predating the latter by over a decade. That's a very interesting point. Thanks, TK-421.

Good luck and thanks, Rip.  I think for a lot of people it was surprising just how fragile the internet can be - at least it was for me.  Don't think that many of us don't appreciate your efforts, but keep in mind that it is hard to do so if there is little communication about what is happening.  Get some rest.

True and I appreciate that. I am just tired and relieved. Probably a little grumpy. Haven't had anything good to pass along in a few days and too tired to formulate any effectual communication. No time for rest yet, have a day full of hectic work ahead. Maybe tonight.

Rip, a lot of folks are very grateful to you for voluntarily hosting OO over the years.  You should never feel unappreciated.
