Well, there is one screenshot that I see that kills the realism.

It looks like you are swimming in the Hudson river and your skin isn't melting off or you don't have broken glass and hypodermic needles in you. Furthermore, if it is the north Hudson, then there should be at least one human body on the shore.  slywink

To be fair, you can't actually see his face in the shot slywink.

I consider it stealing if a person keeps or takes something for which the person didn't pay.

Ever browse the forums at work?

You can provide endless examples of many different situations; the fact remains that in the above example, the person went to the store to purchase a system and game and ended up only paying for the system. Let's put it to the "mom" test: what would your mom say if you were to tell her that you did this? I know what mine would say. Is he as bad as a bank robber or someone of that ilk? I'd say no, but taking what one hasn't paid for is theft in my book.

For the record, I am allowed to surf the net at work.

BTW, the X-Files series set came out last year, so that's why the sequel is separate. It is a nice set for those X-philes out there who don't already have the season sets.

For Bluray, I've ordered Casablanca, Shawshank,The Day the Earth Stood Still and Children of Men.

I know, Robert Downey Jr's character actually being black was a big shock. Hate to have had that ruined for me.

I actually read the preview of it in Nintendo Power (hey, it was sitting there and I had 5 minutes to kill at the store). Anyway, the article said that some actions (fishing, chopping, and their ilk) will be controlled via the motion controls.

Um Razgon, I'd love to know how you think him pirating a game he would otherwise not buy (boycotting being the alternative) is hurting the developers???  Have you been listening to the RIAA publicists again?

That's an awesome excuse.

On an unrelated note, I herebly forswear gaming forever and will never fill the coffers of these helpers of Satan; I have no desire to ever purchase a game again. I'll just pirate them. That way, it's a victimless crime!

Hey KD, this isn't life or death, but there is an ad that I get for a German site/company called "Level R". As it's German, I doubt that you Yanks are seeing it, but everytime I enter your site, it plays a sound effect of a revving engine, and it repeats it every time I click into or out of  a subforum (when that ad is the one displayed, of course). I remembered you writing that you could take certain ads out of the queue, is that right? If so, I would appreciate this one being removed. If it can't be done, then it's not a big deal, just thought that I'd ask. Thanks!

Well - and I realize that it's a newsflash for some - most people develop their sense of right and wrong from the influence of their families. There are certainly some exceptions, but this is how it's done, by and large. I know, shocking!!!

Should we also have a holiday for the thieves who steal someone elses bandwith like that?   Show them for what they really are?

Quote from: Brendan on August 22, 2008, 02:47:03 PM

The line that brettmcd's complaining about is just the alt text for the comic on xkcd, not an editorial comment that Disarm added.  There's a better place for you to complain about that, brett.  Let us know how it goes.

Do you do this 'I'm gonna be a contrarian Ogre' act for a schtick or is this how you really are?

No this is how I really feel about people who steal the bandwith others are paying their hard earned money for.   Its not a act or anything like that, just making a comment, my appologies if doing so offended you in some way that you will never recover from.
