I am really digging Towncraft. It's kind of a mix of a "Dwarf Fortress"-ish game with a touch of Minecraft in the crafting. After a bit of a learning curve, I'm enjoying the town building and completing the simple quests.

I finally completed the fossil section in my museum! Since I'll probably never complete the other sections, I'm quite pleased, though I feel like that should net me a golden shovel, instead of requiring me to buy 50 bags of fertilizer.

This issue has been growing over the last year. While I'm sure the NCAA isn't happy about this, there isn't much they can do, except settle with the student-athletes, and that's going to be difficult.

"Home" was withheld for a couple of years after it first aired, but that ended in the late 90s. As for this show, I have no faith in NBC's abilities to properly translate the comic into a show.

Chromatic aberration

I think hat the game looks pretty fun. The hands don't really bug me; they don't seem that different from the hands in a number of FPS games I've played.

Who the f*ck picks the English titles for their games? If it's a straight translation, then they need to start putting some interpretation into it, because a lot of their titles come off as word salad to me.

I think Fox needs to learn the lessons that WB taught us a decade ago with Birds of Prey; nobody wants to watch a Batman series without the Goddamned Batman.

There is still one fossil that I have never seen in this game and I got the second to last fossil like a month or two ago.  Unbelievable that I wouldn't have just happened to get it by now.  frown

I'm in the same predicament.

Any chance someone who DIDNíT play the original could post some impressions?  Despite my best efforts I have never been able to get into a 3D Zelda game (have tried Ocarina on 3Ds and Twilight Princess on Wii).  I love the 2D top down versions but something about the third dimension doesnít gel with me.

For what it's worth, I also have a harder time getting into the 3D Zeldas compared to the 2D ones.  I think I've gotten to the end of every 2D Zelda I've played, and I've played almost every 2D Zelda, but I don't think I've made it all the way to the end of any 3D Zelda...

...except for Wind Waker.

And that's...the rest of the story.

Its not the Granddaughter and Grandma in a threeway that's most disturbing here, but more to do with the fact that you are able to smell it  saywhat

It's the smell of lilacs and America.

Well, the title of the piece should be "My 50 Favorites" rather than "best" or even "influential" as that is kind of sketchy. I'd actually be interested in a recurring feature like that; various staff members posting their most loved games and why.

It's not as if she's tearing it up on the big screen, so this could be a great opportunity for her. Plus, there may be a time travel story in the future that could reunite her with Cap.

103  Gaming / Portable Gaming & Apps / Re: iPhone/iTouch app and game thread on: September 20, 2013, 04:45:39 AM
From what I understand, the devs were just going to update the original, but the Junk Jack's program wasn't advanced enough to allow them to put in all of the new features that they wanted, so they made JJX. Owning both, JJX feels like Junk Jack 1.5 to me. I don't see any reason to pick up the original now, as JJX has all its features and more, and they did support the original quite a bit, so JJX should get a lot of substantial updates.

Yeah, that one has the res set at 0, even after I set it in-game. When I set the the res in the "My Documents" folder, it screwed up the res, and it wouldn't work even after I changed the res back in the file. It was weird.

Do I want to help beta test this out or not...

I've only run in to two things I would consider major bugs, both of which I was able to fix on my own:

1) There was no resolution setting choice for 1680 x 1050 (fixed by editing config files)

I changed the reolution in the config file found in the game directory found in the "My Documents" folder, but it doesn't work; the screen displays the game wrong. Is there somewhere else I need to change the resolution, too?
