All gaming sites are blocked at my work except for NeoGAF. Go figure. I'm sure it's Daehawk's fault somehow.

Well, in their own twisted way, they are linking him to the brave men and women who died serving our country. Still a shame, though; those people suck.

Well, dead cats are the number 3 cause of death in the summer months.

I'll always remember Dennis Hopper in Hoosiers, though I've seen him in a bunch of other stuff. I think Hoosiers was my first exposure to him and he was the heart of that film.

It looks like Gary Coleman has died. Looks like it was a brain hemorrhage. The guy was the poster boy (with Dana Plato being the poster girl) for how child actors can get fucked up in that career.

Why do we have this thread? I know it went down a couple of years ago for an extended period of time, but that was different circumstances. I'd be willing to bet that someone in the know from OO would post over here if OO was to be shut down for a significant amount of time. I mean, doesn't Qt3 go down at all? Shouldn't we have a thread for them, too.

A man is driving when he sees an orangutan sitting on the curb. Not knowing what else to do, he puts it in his passenger seat and continues on. He stops at a gas station and the attendant comes out. Seeing the odd scene before him the attendant asks, "Hey buddy, why do you have a monkey in your car?" "Well, he was just sitting on the side of the road; what d'ya think I should I do with him?" "That's easy," the attendant replies, "just take him to the zoo." "Good idea, I'll do just that", the man says, and drives off.

A week later the same guy pulls up to the same gas station. The attendant comes out and sees the orangutan in the passenger seat. It is wearing a swimsuit, zinc oxide on its nose and is holding a towel. "Hey buddy", the attendant shouts to the man, "I thought you were taking that monkey to the zoo?!?" The man yells back, "Yeah, well we had so much fun then that we're going to the beach this week"!

I would like to go back to 1988 and experience my discovery of the Ultima series again. Plus, I would be able to anticipate the release of Ultima VII. That is the game that I remember wanting the most prior to release. I read everything I could on it which wasn't nearly as much as is available for current games. I think it's that mystery that builds the anticipation. There isn't one game I'm desiring that much these days.
784  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Escape Velocity Nova Plug-ins on: April 05, 2010, 11:12:47 PM
I am replaying this game on a Mac and cannot figure out what to name the folder in which to install the plug-ins? I have tried "Plug-ins" and "Nova Plug-ins" in the main game directory but neither work. I know that this is an older game, but any help would be appreciated. The plug-ins I am trying to install are not total conversions, but rather mods that add ships and missions. Thanks.

It pissed me off that they promoted Janeway for Nemesis. Bitch got her ship lost, blew up her ticket home, lucked into another way home after killing half her crew and destroying 847 shuttles and she gets a raise. Equal opportunity, my ass.

Not often that I agree with SL, but the entire show rocks. The show didn't always go where I thought it would, or should, go, but while it wasn't perfect, it was a hell of a lot of a lot of fun. Plus, I loooooooved the final episode.

795  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [TV] Leno back to late Night? Conan Homeless? 10pm slot on NBC freed up? on: March 05, 2010, 10:32:07 AM
Well, I don't think that it's much of a surprise that the premiere ratings for Leno Tonight Show v.2 aren't as huge as your two examples. People know exactly what they're getting from a Leno Tonight Show. Just my guess, but I doubt that Leno will lose too many of those viewers as time goes on. People like him at that time, I don't know why.

I hope there is a travel option in NV that is a steam train. Travel the wastes in your own steam train. Perhaps have mini quests that sees your train get stopped and attacked. Maybe theres an option that as the game goes along you upgrade your train with armor and weapons . Maybe even hire guards. When you are not using your train you can send your guys out to raid and bring stuff back to the vault for you.

Fallout: Spirit Tracks?

It's not like it advocated the killing of handicapped puppies or anything. If KD isn't worried that the article will turn people away from GT, I'll trust him on that.
