Fucking girly-men not wanting to catch diseases. Take a course on sanitation and you'll find out what is spread when surfaces and people are not sanitized properly.

Sure, but it can go too far the other way, what with the people who think they need to sanitize everything and probably not coincidental rise in cases of people who's immune systems don't work quite right.  The human body has a symbiotic relationship with a lot of things; killing them all in the name of "sanitation" is probably not a good idea.

Nobody is saying you shouldn't wash your hands after going to the bathroom.  But not having paper towels or a dryer handy to dry off after you're done washing has nothing to do with cleanliness or sanitation.

And I agree with that, but it has nothing to do with what Biyobi was saying, imo.

767  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Kindle DX for sale on: January 14, 2010, 12:20:44 PM
Okay, my folks got me a Kindle DX for Christmas, but I live overseas, and this isn't the international version, so I am basically up a creek unless I want to hold onto it for 3 years for when I can return to the States. I am selling this for $325, I'll pay for shipping as long as you cover the insurance. It's a great deal for a new DX. It doesn't have the packaging, just the manual. I will ship it in appropriate packaging so that it makes it to you.

My cats are young, but they lost their appetites a few weeks ago. It took them 3-4 days, but they started eating again. I think they had a stomach bug, because they puked some, too.
771  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Well, so much for Christmas this year on: November 24, 2009, 07:09:14 PM
Dude, that whole thing totally sucks, and there's nothing short of a lotto win that will make you feel great right now, but think of all of the awesome holiday memories you're making right now. Seriously, the holidays I remember best are the one's where things went wrong and we had to improvise. The Christmases where the power went out in our old house, the Thanksgiving in Florida with my grandparents when we had actually sat on the balcony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and watched a waterspout make landfall and turn into a tornado and have to evacuate. Any time I opened one of my aforementioned grandparents' legendarily awful gifts. Really, those always come to mind and make me smile now, because we just laughed about it then and made the best of it.

Still, I hope you're stuff gets fixed really soon and that you have a great Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Can one burn a copy one gets from GOG and burn a copy to install on another PC? My good PC is having internet issues and can't hook up, but if I can transfer it over, I'd get it.

The second one was a 2 1/2 hour trailer disguised as a movie. Discordant, poorly filmed action scenes filled with random robots with little to no context. Terrible film, even by the first one's standards.

I always thought that somebody should hook up The Proclaimers with Vanessa Carlton. That way neither one would have to walk the full 1,000 miles, but could meet halfway. Or perhaps they could talk to Oleta Adams about the best way to travel the distance.

God, I just thought of another one.

"WE BUILT THIS CITY! WE BUILT THIS CITY ON ROCK AND ROLL!"

The 80's were full of awful. "I'm never gonna dance again, guilty feet have got no rhythm." Ugh.

The aformentioned "Take My Breath Away."

Oh, that horrible Dirty Dancing song. "I had....the time of my life......." This thread is evil! My mind just keeps making leap after leap from bad to worse!

I'll give you Starship, but the '80s were full of aweSOME!!
793  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Battlestar Galactica: The Movie on: August 16, 2009, 10:42:38 AM
I love the most recent series (and am currently rewatching it on glorious bluray right now), and I think that that one will always be my favorite, but I'm a little curious to see what he'll do with it. I mean, it is silly to go back to that well so soon after the series if they're not going to go off of the series, but that's out of my hands, so even if it is cheesy, I'll always have my blurays.
