Yeah, damn him for thinking that referring to a team of mostly black women as "nappy-headed hos" should be unacceptable and should want to continue a dialogue about this. Why can't we all just stick our heads in the sand and pretend it's 1963 again!!

I'm sorry that his family has to go through the hard time ahead and I certainly would never wish death on a person for creating something that I disliked, but I thought BC was crap. It may have innovated the world of comics decades ago, but it was grade-A shit as far as I was concerned. The jokes were one note repetitive drivel and I disliked the Christian subject matter.

Perhaps they could sell it as individual sets. One box would have the guitar, another with the bass, etc. That way, one could coordinate with one's buddies or link up online with whomever is looking for one's instrument. I can't see plunking down ~$250-300 for all of those components.

Grand Leader Osama,

The plans are now complete and ready to be executed in regards to the "Largest Ball of Wax" project. No longer will the imperialist American dogs be able to visit a hokey midwest tourist trap without remembering April 2nd and all of the infidels running in terror from hordes of genetically enhanced rhesus monkeys. Once the word has been sent, we are prepared to unleash the righteous simian fury.

Not to mention that sometimes crosswords require obscure knowledge of things which you have no interest in which means that if you don't know it your chances of figuring it out are very slim, whereas everybody can count and add small numbers with ease.

There is no adding in Sudoku. The numbers are used as symbols. You could replace them with A-I and it wouldn't change the game.

1059  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Best/most memorable gaming moments on: February 26, 2007, 04:17:45 PM
In no particular order...

Ultima V - I slept over at my cousin's house every weekend for like 2 months when this came out and explored every nook and cranny. My ultimate favorite game of the series, a feat not spoiled by the fact that I didn't have the sandalwood box when I got down to LB in the underworld.

Wolfenstein 3d - I loved creating new levels as much as playing through the game (which rocked). I must have made upwards of 30 levels for it, but I had no way of distributing it, being pre-internet. I don't know why I never continued building levels in the following shooters as I found it very satisfying. Also, I always thing of this game when I hear "Achtung" or pretty much any German.

Morrowind - Standing on top of the lighthouse in Seyda Neen and watching the town and the surrounding landscape as the sun went down. Actually, that whole game was one big "wow" moment for me and it's still my favorite in the series.

X-Com 1 - I played through the game on my initial run with the same set of squadmates (named after a bunch of my college buddies). I would always reload if they were even injured. It took a while to beat that way, but I got so attached to my little soldiers that I couldn't sacrifice any of them. When I play though now, I tend to be fairly liberal in my sacrifices, but I'll always remember my firslt squad with fondness.

Ultima IV - When I made my way to and from the Shrine of Humility through the Balrog/Daemon gauntlet. That was exhausting. Also, this was the game that introduced me to Ultima and will always have a special place in my heart.

Police Quest 1 & 2 - Probably my favorite adventure games from the 80s, in spite of Sierra's typically unforgiving habit of killing the player for the smallest of errors. I just loved driving around until I saw that little car in front of me run the red or drive erratically. Can anyone imagine them making a game about a uniform cop these days?

I know that there are more, and perhaps I'll edit som emore in later, but these are off the top of my head.

1069  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Military Folks- Abu Ghraib Question on: December 11, 2006, 12:46:47 AM
I don't see this as a military phenomenon, as it can be found among many tight-knot groups, especially ones that deal with dangerous situations (i.e., police, firefighters, postal workers  icon_wink). Though I agree that people in these groups should have a strong loyalty to their fellow members, I agree that it can be taken too far sometimes and that ultimately, truth and morality need to come first or the organization in question is corrupt.

Bethesda only published the game; MadDoc was the developer and thus, they are responsible for the HDR.

Taken from Rotten Tomatoes:

Quex'cohoatl is a by-the-books priest about to retire from the church when he's partnered with Kukulcan, a young recruit who's rumoured to be violent, unpredictable and possibly even psychotic!! Join them on their wild adventures through the Mexican jungles as they battle with wild savages, panthers, mythical Mayan Gods, and South Africans!

I'm not sure how this has anything to do with trust.  I am in favor of a draft, or even compulsory military service.  I think the brunt of military service is borne by the poor and minorities, and that has made the government more likely to get into unnecessary wars.

Having been in the Air Force for the past 7 years, I can say that I've met people from all walks of life not only in the USAF, but in my sister services too. Certainly, the AF tends to attract a slightly more middle class demographic, as the standards of entry are a little higher, but there is still a lot more variety in personnel than one might think of following certain stereotypes.
