I think Brendan is in; plz keep this open so we can run a little larger. I'd like to see a hunter/berzerk wolf game.

I'll leave it open til saturday.  I'm hoping Unagi checks back in.   Remus bugg Rev, Sean and CR see if they want to join up

Just in case we get enough players - what is a hunter? And what are the strategies that should be played both by the hunter and by the WW against the hunter (i'm assuming he hunts wolves and not villagers)

Yes, the Hunter does hunt WW.  Depending on the game type the Hunter can protect a innocent player at night so a WW kill doesn't occur if they target a protected player and sometimes he has the ability to one shot kill a player during the day.  The shot can only be used once and must be used prior to voting being closed. Depending on the mod if a shot occurs the vote doesn't occur or sometimes it does.

The rules can change depending on the host of the game

3925  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / GTville-Hunting Grounds-Day 1- Everyone alive!! on: April 25, 2008, 01:37:48 PM
Danger lurks once again in GTville.  Werewolves have turned up and the struggle between Light and Dark has begun

To join in a simple "In" is all that needed.  Depending on the number of players I will decide on the roles.  At the minimum I will have Two WW and a Seer.  If we get enough I will add another WW and a Hunter. I will begin with 13 or 14.  I will add a Hunter and the Werewolves will be Alpha and Beta.  Alpha will be able to turn normal villager into a Berzerker WW

Roles:

The Bad Guys

The game begins with Two WW:
Alpha WW has the one time ability to create normal WW.  If this ability is used on a good guy special they will be turned but lose their special ability

Beta WW is a berzerker. If lynched he will take a villager of his choosing with him

Normal WW is the newly created WW.  Has no special ability

The Good Guys

Seer has the ability to once per night turn ask the true roles of any player.

Hunter has the ability to protect any player, but he can't protect the same player two nights in a row.  If he protects a WW he will be that nights kill. The Hunter has one time ability to kill a player during the day turn.  The shot must be taken prior to lynch voting being final.  If the Hunter takes the shot voting still needs to be done to advance the turn

Undertaker: Can during the night ask the role of any deceased player

Rules

WW can PM each other during the day and night cycle
Seer, Hunter, Undertaker and Villagers cannot PM at anytime
WW must make a kill at night
Villager must vote  player to the gallows during the day. if the Hunter shot is used the days voting will still need to be completed
Lynch votes should bolded and withdrawal should bolded
Once lynched mod will only indicate innocent or WW in his write up (this is up for discussion.  with a undertaker role I think he is a counter to the wolves faking a special role.  thoughts from players?)
Upon kill WW will be given the true role of the player

Order of turns

Seer Scans
Hunter Protects
WW Kill or Convert

Please post any questions for clarification.  Game will commence this afternoon.

Players:

1. DarkEL
2. Stessier
3. Arkon
4. Remus West
5. Brendan
6. Purge
7. Austin
8. Cheeba
9. Lassr
10. Newcastle
11. Raven VII
12. rickfc
13. pr0ner

Game is still open for 1 or 2 players.  I will assign roles and start game this afternoon

3926  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Werewolf Game-Day 3- Austin is a four course meal on: April 25, 2008, 09:23:43 AM
Remus shook his head in disgust as he was lead to the gallows.  His anger didn't allow him to say anything as the noose was put over his head and with a quick throw of the lever Remus' life was over

Remus didnot change he was a innocent villager

"What the h-" was all rickfc got out as his head was torn off by  purge

Poor Brendan tried to run, but Arkon didn't allow him to get very far.  His last moments was not very pleasant

Werewolves Win!

Players and roles

1. Austin
2. Stessier
3. Newcastle
4. Purge - WW
5. Semaj - Seer
6. Arkon - WW

Semaj internet outage hurt the village.  He had two live innocent scan which is enough of a voters block to control the game

Austin, Remus and Newcastle stood aroundl. Used to the first day voting lasting for a week or more they was quite surprised when rickfc cast the final ballot

"Sucker ",uttered Goldchamp as he was led to the gallows. With the noose around his neck  Purge threw the lever and goldchamp dropped

Everyone waited...
waited..
waited..
waited..
waited...

Goldchamp never turned.  He was a normal villager.  Eight remain and each one knew that one of them would not see the morning

Good luck and thanks, Rip.  I think for a lot of people it was surprising just how fragile the internet can be - at least it was for me.  Don't think that many of us don't appreciate your efforts, but keep in mind that it is hard to do so if there is little communication about what is happening.  Get some rest.

True and I appreciate that. I am just tired and relieved. Probably a little grumpy. Haven't had anything good to pass along in a few days and too tired to formulate any effectual communication. No time for rest yet, have a day full of hectic work ahead. Maybe tonight.

Rip, a lot of folks are very grateful to you for voluntarily hosting OO over the years.  You should never feel unappreciated.

Just vote in the thread by bolding the name as such Stessier  do the same for retractions withdraw stessier.  New players don't feel the need to vote early.  Some of the players will be lying and trying to cause confusion.  Seeing through the lies and deceit is where the fun lies

Please remember you arenot allowed to PM other players about this game.  Only the WW have the ability to PM for strategy.

Mini camp is starting today and it seems during the first team meeting he dropped the bomb to his team mates

Only person that stringing anyone along about retirement is Jonathan Ogden and he's basically told the Ravens Org to proceed as if he is going to retire

It will probably be a basic game with 2 werewolves and a Seer.  If enough interest I might add a Hunter. If we get ten I'll start the game

The Basics:

Bad Guys
Two Werewolves.  Each night can kill one person.  Allowed to PM each other at anytime

Good Guys

Seer.  During the night cycle can scan any player.  Will be given true role of any player

7 Villagers.  Wolf Bait.  Cannot PM.

During each day the villagers must vote one player to face the gallows.  Majority rules. No time limit on voting. Once majority reached  voting is closed
Talking during night cycle is allowed
Please watch the meta gaming
Roles will be randomly assigned

Order of turns

Seer Scans
Werewolves have dinner
Everyone willl receive a PM.
