Well, I use my PSP everyday! I listen to MP3 on my way work since I take Mass Transit. Also, when I break it out to play Madden or Xmen Legends it seems to impress everyone around me.
Lets not forget the the DS is now just considered coming into its own. I'm sure if I looked I can find tons of threads bashing it due to its weak initial line up of games. Some of the better PSP games are just now being released.
Some of you have some very short memories when it comes to the DS. Heck, the WiFi feature of the DS just got support if I'm correct. The PSP had it since launch and is only getting better

I'll Play
MADDEN 06 2005-2006 Season
Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers
I'm 5 games into the season with the Ravens at this point 4-1 going into a grudge match with a division rival. I built up a 14-7 lead going into the half with Jamal Lewis running well. By the end of the 3rd its 21-14 Ravens up. It stays this way til I missed a 48 yd FG with 50sec left on the clock. Big Ben drives the field and ties the game up at 21 even with a perfect pass to Hines Ward. OT- The Steelers win the toss and I stop them three and out. Ensuing kickoff I take back to the 50 yrd line! A. Wright connects with Todd Heap and Mark Clayton to put them with in FG range. Instead of kicking the field goal cause I'm kicking into the wind, so I drive to 1 yrd line. A.Wright fakes to Jamal Lewis and give the FB for the WIN! 27-21 Ravens win
Ravens 5-1
Next up Cinn. Bengals

I mean, yeah, I can understand the fact this console shouldn't be grouped with the 360/PS3. It doesn't offer their level of graphical power.
And I can understand how people wouldn't want one (at this point in time). You're going to be getting totally unique games and frankly, we have no clue what they're going to offer.
But slap me sideways if you disagree, but as a gamer, I couldn't be happier with this new console. It's not just another upgrade, it's entirely new. My initial thoughts would be that gamers, as a whole, would be excited/interested in the Revolution; that such a large company would be willing to take a risk and try something incredibly new (Microsoft being on the complete opposite end of the spectrum which is perfectly OKAY, so please don't flame me).
The Revolution doesn't REPLACE any of my next-gen console purchases, but it sure as hell belongs in my household right next to whatever next-gen consoles I decide to purchase. While you have some very valid points I think many are just burned out by Nintendo. While they want to focus on "kiddie" games that in many ways just don't appeal to me. Granted RE4, Soul Calibur , Geist and the rest are the exception not the norm. This might not bother you, but many doesn't like Nintendo tight fisted control. It was understandable in the mid 80's and 90's when Nintendo was fresh out the gate after the Atari fiasco, i.e. bad games flooding the market. Ninentdo hasn't appealed to me since I jumped from the orginal Ninentdo to the Sega.

Check out this cool new stuff from Agetec! http://www.gamespot.com/psp/rpg/popolocrois/index.html?q=PoPoLoCrois I would say that PoPoLoCrois is one of the best up-to date RPGs for the PSP. The translations are good and the text doesn't overlap just like PoPoLoCrois. If you are deciding whether to get PoPoLoCrois or The Legend of Heroes, I would suggest to get PoPoLoCrois first and get The Legend of Heroes later. -Game Informer And the other one is Wild Arms:Alter Code F http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/rpg/codef/index.html?q=Alter%20Code%20fWild Arms Alter Code: F is a good revisit to a classic RPG. The battle system remains a fairly neat thing to play with, and the storyline--featuring demons, elflike people, ancient technology, and swords and firearms all wrapped up in a world with a pseudo-Western feel--remains unique and interesting.- Gamespot.com Mehtinks someone works for Agetec Just a guess :p

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / [PSP] PoPoLoCrois -any impressions yet
|
on: December 05, 2005, 03:09:55 PM
|
The PoPoLoCrois saga, first seen on the original Playstation and continued for PS2, goes portable with an adventure built specially for PSP. A decade ago, an ice demon attacked the Kingdom of PoPoLoCrois. As a heroic white dragon banished the Ice Demon to the World of Darkness, the queen of PoPoLoCrois fell into a deep sleep. Her son, Prince Pietro, must band together with a group of friends on a quest to awaken his mother. Strategically explore a grid layout and battle in a turn-based RPG system. Use magic, attack in tandem, and call in fighting beasts for backup. Beginners can use AI-based, computer-controlled combat, making this an adventure playable by all. Basic description. I should have my rental from gamefly sometime this week

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Gamestop post third quarter lose. Buying EB and 360 to blame
|
on: December 01, 2005, 04:43:09 PM
|
Original storyGameStop posts $2.5 million Q3 loss Cost of EB Games acquisition, slow game market one-two punch number one game retailer--though not as hard as expected. Buying out a rival is never cheap. For GameStop, its purchase of former competitor Electronics Boutique (aka EB Games) poured red ink over a normally profitable quarter. Today, the now-number-one game retailer posted a $2.5 million loss for the quarter ending October 29, 2005, far below the $12.5 million in profits it enjoyed during the same period in 2004. The figure was within expectations, but at the lower end of the predicted loss range.
GameStop's shortcomings could be pinned on two major factors. First was the acquisition of EB, which created $18.8 million in merger costs in addition to the $1.44 billion in stock and cash GameStop paid for the company. Second was a 12 percent drop in "comparable store sales"--ie, sales in retail locations that have been open for more than a year. The company blamed the drop on the lack of major games released in the quarter, singling out the absence of a major title like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Despite the loss, the company put on a brave face. In a press release, it touted its quarterly net sales for the quarter were actually up 28.2 percent, going from $416.7 million in 2004 to $534.2 million in 2005. GameStop's guidance predicts $0.98-$1.06 per share in earnings for its fourth quarter, and $1.65-$1.75 per-share earnings for the fiscal year.
"We made significant progress during the third quarter to position ourselves for the fourth quarter and the long term," R. Richard Fontaine, GameStop's chairman and CEO, said in a statement. "We successfully completed our merger with Electronics Boutique, integration milestones are being met, and a number of best practices have already been cross-applied to the combined company."
However, Fontaine had a rather gloomy assessment for the rest of the year. "During November we experienced weaker than expected new video game software sales mainly due to core customers waiting for the launch of Microsoft's Xbox 360 and to value consumers continuing to gravitate to used video games," he said. "We anticipate this trend to continue to a degree throughout the holiday season, with gross sales levels declining, but strong margin contributions supporting forecasted earnings."
Analysts went one step further than the downbeat executive. Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan Securities downgraded his rating of the stock from "Buy" to "Hold" on account of "management's inability to forecast its allocation of Xbox 360 units; the company's reliance upon used software sales and margin growth as a driver for earnings growth; our lingering concerns about the console transition; and questions about GameStop's market position as a destination for 'hardcore' gamers."
GameStop stock was down slightly in after-hours trading, slipping just $0.04 from its market-close price of $35.14.

Former Military myself and this type of "War" isn't winnable imo
The people that hate us will always be able to recruit more matyrs and dimwitts. The only thing we as Americans see is the casualties. The news hardly ever report how many casualties we inflict but as always quick to report how many Americans have been killed by a car boomb.
This is a clandestine war. The only way we win is with a small cells to strike at thier cells. I'm so reminded of that movie with John Travolta and Halle Berry

It's one of the main reasons why I continue to refuse to date. I have my gaming systems to come home to from work! The X360 is the pinnacle of gaming systems. Much better than any woman could hope to ever be! I don't know man?? Women have some advantages. Heck, one real important one. Thats pretty on par with the 360

I guess I'm in the minority, but I like the 360 version of Madden. I don't care about no practice mode or any of that other shit. I just want a game that I can play solo or with my buds.
Hell, I love my PSP version and the 360 version as well. I am a die-hard football fan, but dealing witht he salary cap , practicing my players is just something I could really care less about when I am playing a football game.
Just my opinion
