Trailer is very cringe worth in my opinion.

Movie is a cult classic for a reason and the series can never reach that level , imo

I think the biggest issue was that none of Microsoft's originally announced features for the Xbox One felt like they were made for the consumer. Instead they felt like they were made for the companies selling you products, with buzzwords on top to make it all sound acceptable to the customers. Both Valve and Sony have been very good at avoiding this kind of angle.

This.  MS messed up the messaging.  They can't blame Sony for this

I'm all for equal rights, but I'm not sure I want to mow down women in a video game. I think we have enough real-world issues with women being abused to start having that simulated in video games.

Equality typically refers to making sure each gender has the same benefits and opportunities. It doesn't mean I want more women to die of a male-dominant cancer for the sake of equality.

I can agree with this..  I know I draw the line when it comes to children, so I don't think we'll ever see that in games

I read this piece on Joystiq yesterday and it made for a good read.

Quote from: Joystiq
The Last of Us, Joystiq's very favorite game of 2013, is a mean game about mean people finding reasons to survive when the world's gone to hell. Joel and Ellie, the heroes of The Last of Us, dole out the harshness regularly to all sorts of bad people that are a lot meaner than them. Strange thing about the "hunters" in the game's post-apocalyptic world; they're all men. Plenty of female zombies, but no hunters. Pretty weird that the only people willing to kill other people for food and supplies are men. Women have to eat too.

Stranger still is the fact that lady hunters were apparently supposed to be in The Last of Us. Naughty Dog's artists designed them, as seen in the art book, but they never made it into the game. Then again, maybe it's not so strange. In a world of video games about fighting, shooting, surviving, and killing, female enemies are out there, as in BioShock Infinite, but they aren't common. Tomb Raider, another entry in our Best of 2013 list, also pits you against hordes of human enemies, the sinister Scavengers, and every single one of them carries around a Y chromosome. No women shipwrecked on Yamatai have killer fighting skills, only Lara?

Our question for you: is this a problem? Does it bother you that women are as under-represented as enemies as they are heroes in video games? We ask these questions and more below. We also invite you to elaborate on your answers in the comments section.

It's 2014 and we still treat women as the weaker sex when it comes to movies and games in general.  Isn't it time for a change?

MS, imo, had Sony's hubris when the PS2 was king.  Sony learned from that debacle  and they are a better company for it.  Hopefully, MS learned the same lesson.

Haven't since the big redesign back in 2011. We've wanted to bring it back, but it hasn't really been a high priority and it's so hard to maintain. You are the first person to mention it since it went away, if that gives you any idea of why we pushed it down the priority list...

Well AOS is back from the holidays.  The return episode might be the best yet.  I really liked the direction they took.

Spoiler for Hiden:
This episode was the lynch pin to the team coming together as a unit finally.  Theyve learned the most important thing that they needed to learn was to trust each other, completely.  I think we are probably done with the wishy washy team stuff and they are now going to be a lot more kick ass.  Excellent stuff with Coulson as well, including an awesomely creepy scene.  Oh and Ron Glass alert!  Anyway I want to believe that AOS has turned the corner, and this episode shows it may have just done that.

Good to hear..  Maybe I'll catch up later, but I am done with this for now

I've been having a lot of problems with late shipments from Amazon lately.  I've been a Prime member for a while now, and all but a few items I've ordered have arrived on time.  Even this Christmas, I got all but one item on time.  However, things have fallen apart since then.  Of the last five items I've ordered, four have been late.  Has anyone else experienced this or have suggestions on how I should ask Amazon to compensate me for this terrible service?

Who is delivery company?   I was having issues with the local delivery company that Amazon had contracted with for same day delivery and refuse to use same day delivery cause of my bad experiences

I'm actually surprised by how small the gap is. But of course we all knew that in the beginning both were going to sell all the units they could produce. I'm guessing that the next couple of months will be the real test.

The gap is actually larger than most people suspected, and seems to indicate that the Xbox One might not have sold all available stock. The numbers were very close at the end of November, so for them to have diverged this much since then, particularly when the PS4 is very hard to get in mainland (and especially northern) Europe, is more meaningful than most people expected the numbers to be at this point. The real diverging should have happened around March, if at all, but it seems to have started earlier.

I don't know but MS focused on a smaller area than Sony, so I expect that Sony would sell more with their more global focused release.   2 mill more at this point don't seem like a huge difference when you compare the release regions.   I still believe PS4 will sell more cause of their just gaming focus and price difference.

Still no matter they both sold well and means console gaming is far from dead

Are you guys running into little weird issues here and there?  I came back home after two weeks away, turned on my XBO, and went to turn on TV for my daughter.  No audio from TV.  I could heard the system noises just fine.  Powered down the XBO completely and all was well.  I run into bizarre little issues here and there like this.  For instance, had an issue where IR stopped working for turning on and off the XBO until I completely powered it down and then turned it back on.  Just curious if you guys are running into little bugs like this.

Yes, over the weekend I was watching Netflix and went back to watching TV, but the TV app wouldn't show the picture and was only sound.  I tried to do a soft reboot using my voice, but it wouldn't power down.  I eventually had to do a hard reboot

Don't worry about those. They were only pulled because the license finally transferred from Interplay to Bethesda in full. They should be back up in some form pretty soon, though Bethesda might save it for some kind of Fallout 4 promotion.

Bethesda has yet to put any of their games on GOG - I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them to reappear there.

Not saying they will appear on GOG again, but they should be available to buy eventually, probably through Steam.

They will be showing up on Steam according to a blog post from Bethesda.  no mention of GoG

I know this is a conversation for another thread but this is just one of the many reasons I hate/fear the move to all digital.

Actually, I think I am going to go digital with my XB1 as I very rarely buy physical media on my PC anymore.  The convenience of Steam, GoG and Amazon just work for me. They only thing that is really holding me back is prices..   If Microsoft would drop prices like these other services it would be a no brainer for me.  Recently, I wanted to pick up FIFA 14 digitally, but MS was still selling at full price where Amazon  had dropped the price for the physical disk by 15.00 bucks during a holiday sale, so picked up from Amazon.

Thing is switching to the digital copy on the XB1 works so flawlessly  you can see where MS was going with the buy the disk to install and never need again practice.  If they had that option now I would use it as I rarely sell my games off
