Spoiler for Hiden:
The Redcliffe time travel plotline with the Tevinter mages was simply fantastic, so epic it felt like it should be the finale and not just a bump in the beginning of the game!

There are minor nits I have with the interface, and minor things such as not being able to romance Cullen (boooooo), plus I'm getting some stuttering hiccups now and my fans are going wild trying to run the gorgeous graphics, but all in all its worth it.

You get some justice when you make it to Skyhold

Spoiler for Hiden:
I made him Tranquil which pissed Dorian off

Thanks, Turtle.  I figured as much..   I'll just reboot the game more often

Btw, having to quest for the advanced classes suck and I suggest as soon as the opportunity opens up do the War Table quest to open it up.  Sadly, the advance class I chose appears to be over-powered with people posting vids of soloing dragaon as an Knight Enchanter

Has anyone run into the cut scene conversations pausing?  I've run into the particular issue twice on the XB1 admittedly after some rather long play time.

I can't seem to find where I can see enemy difficulty.  I know they are supposed to be color coded but I don't see where.  I was guessing name, but I haven't noticed it.

Actually if you go to tactical view the shield icon by their name will con them and give respective level.  In case of said demon and the dragon both are lvl  12

Is that the rift around the horse area?  If so, my party died several times to the point of frustration.  That's when I figured I must have wandered too far, although the horse quest is one of the first two you get.  I guess the feeling this is more like an elder scrolls would be accurate.

That's the one..

When the game gets into story mode, I really like it.  Bioware has never steered me wrong in that department.

I'm not nearly as fond of the "get a new quest every 3 steps" dynamic that the open world brings though.  It's the main reason why open world games don't generally click with me...jury is still out on this one.

I agree about the amount of quest you can pick up, but what I'm finding is that most of them are quickly completed at least in the Hinterlands.  Btw, ran into my first Dragon and it didn't go well, so I will just avoid that area and come back later and I also ran into a Rift with a very high level demon at least for the area I'm in

Played a bit this morning and I think I should have went PC instead of XB1..  Noticeable stutters at times, but my main issue is controls.  I probably would have preferred PC instead, but I loathe to install Origin.

Anyway, pretty good so far I missed a conversation with Solas as we were traveling he asked me about living as a Dalish and my conversation tree appeared and it was greyed out and I couldn't select an answer.  Eventually he remarked something like "Well, be silent then"  Has anyone run into this?

So you think this sounds useful? Especially for that price point? I am really curious about who would want this and why. What does it offer that you think you might use daily, while not annoying everyone else you live with? I use Siri when I am driving because it is handy. I will use "Hey Siri" when my phone is plugged in occasionally, but I don't really have a regular use for it. Siri has never made me think that I would want a device that just does this.

Even if the music part was nice, it better have great sound, which for that price and a single speaker, it doesn't appear to. How is it in any way better than a Sonos for playing cloud music?

From an investing point of view this seems completely nuts. Amazon drains money like a sieve year after year. They put out the phone, showing they have no idea what they are doing or what their customers want, so of course the phone bombs. Now this thing? Is there a demand for this thing? What does it solve for the buyer? Did the Xbox One Kinect do so well that it convinced them  they needed to attempt to do the same thing for their own content?

Right now I have a little bluetooth speaker for when I want to stream music and I have to bring my phone from its normal place into the room where I want to listen to music.

I also have a radio next to it so I can get local stations.

It seems like this device does both those things, is always on and always ready for me to fire it up.

The Sonos device seems to be $199 so the Echo (for me as a prime member) is a bit cheaper.

Also unless I leave my phone on all the time - not sleeping I can't just say "Ok google" and get it to do stuff.

So I guess I think it doesn't solve any issues but it does wrap up several solutions in one convenient spot.

That's tecnically false... one of the recent Google updates will enable always  on for Google Now, but it will only work will on the charger

I think I understand your complaint, but you don't think the player should be the hero instead of a NPC?

That's the exact opposite of my point. I don't think the NPCs should constantly tell you what to do, including who to fire upon and when. This game is essentially like a huge, glorified quicktime event. You have no agency, and only exist in the campaign to aim and to click buttons when the game tells you to. Tactics are mostly wasted as the NPCs tell you what to do and what to use at pretty much all times.

Let's put it like this: If you joined a squad of elite soldiers and one of the soldiers in that squad kept constantly telling one particular other soldier in that same squad what to do, even including things they've drilled on and practiced for years, wouldn't you get a little worried?

Point, well stated and I actually agree

I have no intention of buying this game, but I've been watching a Let's Play on YouTube since I want to see Spacey in action. Don't get your hopes up about the story. It's beyond stupid (jaw-droppingly so at times), as is the setting itself. Spacey is brilliant as always though, and the spectacle is over the top as always. The graphics are also quite beautiful for the first time in years for this particular series of games.

Edit: Also, the way the game constantly tells the player what to do is quite patronizing. Watching the story unfold without having to actually play it, it becomes blindingly obvious how NPCs keep telling the player every single thing he has to do (use your EMP grenade! Find some cover! Aim for the tanks! Place the mine! Climb the wall!), while not even a single NPC receives similar instructions. Yet at the end of the day, it's always the player who's the hero for some reason. Go figure.

I think I understand your complaint, but you don't think the player should be the hero instead of a NPC?   My main complaint about these games is the A.I. and how everyone enemy NPC focus fire on you instead of the entire squad.

Anyway, I'll probably pick this up next year for the SP when there's a gaming lull

faq  on the Beta boards states that the Keep will pull in your characters from the defunct Bioware Social Network (BSN) but won't update the keep with your choices you will have to manually do that and  push the save out to DA:I.

Sadly, I think they just had too much trouble with all the variables in save games and this was the best option.

BTW,  you save games must be linked to your BSN account for the Keep to see
