I went and looked at the new Retina MBP at the Apple Store and man it's purty.

I saw the ifixit tear down and holy shit has apple basically destroyed any and all upgrade-ability. Soldering the RAM onto the logic board, you can't just get the lowest ram and buy 16 gigs off of newegg for 100 dollars. More proprietary SSDs. It would be incredibly hard for me to want to dump that much money on a laptop that has no chance of me extending its life a bit.

Lance Armstrong is and was one of the most tested athletes out there. I don't know how anyone could call him guilty.

MacRumors has a breakdown on what will work where with iOS 6:

Some of this totally baffles me, why can't the iPhone 4 do turn by turn? My ancient android phone could do turn by turn without any issue, hell the multitude of apps on the store that do turn by turn supported my iPhone 3G.

it'd be nice if they gave some sort of hint about the next iPhone, because the Samsung Galaxy S3 is looking sexier than Kathode in a teddy.

If by hint you mean what the OS will be then you'll be ok, otherwise I wouldn't expect to hear anything until Sept.  Here's a preview though, it'll be better than anything else on the market.

Sure.

It's really hard for me to see how people can be so tied to sports and competition in general when it is literally destroying there bodies. I have a friend at work who has had his shoulder dislocate. He finally got around to doing surgery, then went back to football and dislocated it again. He's finally stopped playing football, but he still climbs and rides his mountain bike hard. It seems there there is a point where he is willing to nuke his whole shoulder than stop competing in things. I understand that it is part of things that you love to do but I guess I feel there has to be a line so that you don't end up in a wheel chair or the total loss of use of one of your limbs.

My only...concern with the movie is that I never really saw a moment where banner gained control over Hulk, he just showed up and Hulk was all cool with everyone. I didn't think the scene when he landed was that moment where he magically had control.

ah yes, the old "hot temp kidney snatch." classic.

Is a kidney really worth that much? I mean really now. That is a shitload of work just to get 1 Kidney. I mean, you need to fill a bathtub full of ice. Then you would need a good base of ice and drag the persons bleeding body onto the ice. Why take the time to just get 1 kidney instead of killing them and then you get 2 kidneys? Organ thieves are not thinking of a good ROI for their time here.

I did find Lagunitas A little Sumpin' Sumpin' at Whole Foods. Which apparently Whole Foods has an amazing beer selection compared to the liquor store. Should of just went there in the first place. I will now commence sampling these other beers.

I haven't seen any that are listed here. The one I went to did prescribe me something that did help wonders.

But in general it's been "Chiropractors are great, the pain goes away. Then I have to go back to make the pain go away again."
145  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Summer Beers on: April 22, 2012, 11:20:39 PM
So I went to the liquor store and...they didn't have nearly what I hoped. So I went with my fall back which I like which is Great White.

And I grabbed this: http://www.lagunitas.com/beers/imperialred.html

As something different and interesting. We just had some of the great white. I will try the other one later. I tried to find things but I guess I have to go to a different liquor store or to Whole Foods which has a good beer selection. Sorry for the anti climacticness.

147  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Summer Beers on: April 22, 2012, 12:05:17 AM
So it's my friends birthday tomorrow and he is a person who loves beer. So I'm trying to find some good summer beers that I can get when I go over tomorrow. I'm in Reno so I will probably have access to any west coast beers and some from the Denver area. We have quite a few out of the Oregon breweries.

So far my list is basically the one that I love which is Great White. I also know that he loves Scotch Ales but those seems a bit heavier with it being so hot. That and I don't know what goes into a good Scotch Ale.

Any suggestions?

My light googling didn't find what you were looking for.

If I understand right you want something that you can take a bottle of pills and dump it into 1 bay, and then another bottle into a different bay. Then you program it, in the morning 1 from bay 1 and 2 from bay 2 and so on.

Bioware has a panel at PAX East, as well as them dropping stuff about new DLC plans. We will see what they say. Everything I've seen is that there is going to be more DLC to "flesh" out the ending. I don't want a fleshed out ending, I want a fucking new one. So, no more money for Bioware. I'll just youtube whatever they release.

You can probably find a pretty nice Mazda hatchback that's a few years old. I think 09 was really good right before they added the goofy happy front end. My friend has the sedan version and he is 6 foot and seems to be comfortable in it. What about a crossover? Either a Sorento or Tuscon or something?

Hey, you can use an iPhone's 3G connection (tethering?) using a WiFi-only iPad, right? Of course right now I'm still using a 2004 Nokia brick phone so this question is strictly hypothetical. I just don't know anyone who's used one that way and can maybe speak to whether it works OK.

I think my Verizon Wireless contract renewal is approaching, and might be a good time to finally upgrade. God knows I waited long enough.  icon_redface

If you jailbreak it, or you pay the extra 20 or whatever plus a month for tethering which only gets you 2Gig if that.

If you have unlimited internet on your phone and the signal is pretty stable along the freeway, you can stream a lot. That and you can dial in a lot better the music you want to listen to. My issue with satellite was just how crappy it sounded since they can only do about a 64k stream.
156  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: How long does an employment background check take? on: March 28, 2012, 06:38:27 PM
Depends on how much stuff you put into the application or not. I think mine took a week to a week and half. But that is probably because I've never had one done before. My wifes who has a much more complex history only took a week.
157  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Work decision on: March 28, 2012, 03:35:02 PM
I would argue 60% offsets the commute. And I would say challenge is a good thing as long as it doesn't add to your stress as well. Basically will they give you the chance to learn and adapt to all new things before deadlines crash down on you.

So besides the commute I see no cons. I'm assuming there company is pretty stable?

I could live with ghost boy and the stupid 3 choices ending, if they actually showed me that all the work I did building alliances, scanning all the planets and getting all of the resources for that final fight mattered. It didn't. I could probably fucked up everything and done zero things and I would of made it to that same elevator and talked to ghost boy on the citadel. The ending invalidates all of the decisions and choices I made in the past 3 games. That is what pisses me off the most. I've actually tried to replay it, going through it and trying some different things because of Tuchanka and Mordin and because of that Quarian/Geth part. I have no issue recommending the game that 99% of the game is amazing, I'll just tell them to let Marauder Shields kill them. But the ending has just destroyed all of it for me.
160  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Mass Effect 3 - Spoilers/Ending (Now with Spoiler Tags) on: March 27, 2012, 02:17:11 AM
There was bonus ending DLC for Fallout 3, I believe one of the biggest examples was Sherlock Holmes had the ending change.

And this isn't artistic integrety, there wasn't a singular group of people that had a full idea from start to finish for these 3 games. I believe there are only a few of the original writers from ME1 all the way through to 3. There might of a been a central idea or theme which they kind of kept through the series but from what I understand that kind of went out the window with the ending. Since the narrative changed so much within that last 5 minutes I have no issue calling for a new ending. Sadly we aren't going to get it, the only thing we will get is 10 dollar DLC that "explains" the shitastic ending.
