If you love Kill a Kill, I strongly suggest Guuren Lagann.

Also if you can find it, Steins;Gate is pretty much my favorite anime.

As was said earlier Knights of Sidonia is pretty good. Very Evangelionesk without the total craziness towards the end.

They are from the Something Awful form, they were orginally going to be on Pergo but apparently Carbine asked them to move to warbringer because of the population on Pergo. The goon guilds usually get really big and they are usually just a giant horde of jerks. If you are Dominion also then it should be fine. Just thought I would throw it out since there is usually stigma that comes with where ever the goons are.

In either case since I'm not huge on PVP the rest of them are on Evindra which is where I have an exile guy and a dominion guy.  I'm in as SkyLander for my dominion guy if you want to friend me.

I also think a majority of dungeons or instances in general are cross realm? I'm not totally sure how that works.
5  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Wildstar (Carbine Studios' first project) on: May 31, 2014, 04:49:17 PM
Just an FYI since I know how some people can be the Goon Squad is on Warbringer, there primary faction is dominion.

I'm sure X-Wing and Tie Fighter are probably better games, but I loved X-Wing Alliance. I loved the whole story, being just a family of smugglers and flying the YT-1300 and other variants and just going out and doing runs and so forth. It was just a great game in general.

I talked to my wife and we're going to try to cut the cord (mostly) in July when our current cable deal is up. The biggest heartache for us is going to be giving up the kid channels. While Netflix has TONS of kid content, it's still a bit of a pain vs just turning on Disney Jr. and letting it run.

We're going to try to go back to a basic cable package for $20/month. This will give us all the major channels (which is pretty much all we watch anyway), and we'll have Netflix and Hulu to fill in the gaps for anything else. Worst case scenario we cave and wind up going back up to a tier that gives us the kid's channels. Even then we'll still be saving a little money over the full blown package we have now.

If you have Amazon Prime they have all of the Nickelodeon programming.

And Netflix does automatically start the next episode now, I think after 10 or so there is a popup asking if you are still watching.
8  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [movie] Captain America: The Winter Soldier confirmed on: April 17, 2014, 03:41:12 AM
To me the 3D in this movie was utterly horrible. Saving grace was that I liked the movie enough to get passed the 3D for most of it. Everyone that I went with pretty much agreed with me. It seemed like there were times where they tried to do tricks with the blur and bring into focus different things, with 3D the whole frame just became blurry. Most of the quick cuts/shaky cam fights were a blurry mess to me. I also left the movie with a pounding headache. Nothing has come close to Avatar in doing 3D well. Hence why I usually avoid it like the plague, only reason I went to this in 3D was that my boss was taking everyone out and I wanted to go to the new imax theater that opened up here. The imax screen is great and I loved the sound to bad every movie in that theater is going to be 3d so this is probably the last movie I will see in it.

Did Scarlett Johansson spend the entire movie looking like she'd lost a battle with a can of spray tan, or is it just me.  She looked oddly orange throughout the entire film.

My wife pointed this out too, she was saying her makeup didn't go with the red hair very well.
10  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: AT&T Wireless New Mobile Share Plan - Really? on: March 25, 2014, 03:46:51 PM
Yeah, I have a family plan on T-Mobile, I have unlimited everything at 110 a month, including data, unthrottled. Before I was doing 145-150ish. And for 90 percent of the places I go to I have good signal with LTE or at least HSPA+, I average around 10meg down consistently. I don't think I can ever go back to Verizon or ATT, contracts or subsidized phones. It would be a wash anyway since for a new flagship type phone I've seen 250-299 at least on verizon unless you find a good deal somewhere, whereas a Nexus phone is usually about 350.
11  Gaming / Analog Gaming / [KickStarter] Mob Town on: January 31, 2014, 06:22:32 PM
So a good friend from work has designed a board game and he got a publisher and they just put up a kickstarter for his game.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/5thstreetgames/mob-town

It's a map building/town takeover kind of game. It uses quite a few familiar mechanics if you kept up with Tabletop or any recent popular games. I helped him playtest it and it is actually a pretty fun and simple game. Just wanted to throw it out there if anyone would be interested.

I just got my fiancÚ an Air on release day, and it is a really slick device...significantly lighter and easier to hold than the previous iPad, and very quick to load apps.

I was a little surprised to compare it to my almost two year old Asus Transformer Prime, however, and realize that they're pretty much the same thickness, feel like the same weight, and only differ in their longest dimension because the Prime has a 10-inch 16:9 screen. Apple talks up the Air like it's a marvel of engineering, and it is a good step from previous iPads, but they're not breaking new ground this time. I still think it's a pretty impressive device though.

Does the Asus have the same CPU/GPU performance and battery life as the Air?  I would think that it's* much further ahead (aside from the 2 year gap in tech). *the Air

I think he was getting at the thinness/weight is really not that much better than what has been put out from other companies in the past.

27  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Steam Box on: September 24, 2013, 03:00:28 PM
This is something that I've been looking for. I believe the streaming is the main feature. People who use steam most likely have a gaming pc that isn't hooked up to the TV. So if you get games like, Batman or Assassins creed which were built with a controller in mind you can then just stream those games to your big screen if you want. Or a bunch of indy games that don't look the best on your pc monitor or are more casual/aren't hardcore. Which is exactly what I would like since I have a beefy main gaming rig that is to big/heavy/loud to take down to my main big screen TV. But there are games that are most suited to the couch. So why buy something twice or have to split my library when I could get the best of both worlds.

I got an HTC One in the last 2 weeks and it fits in my pocket just fine. I went from a Nexus one which was a 3.5 inch to a Galaxy S2 and size kind of scared me and my wife who had an iPhone 4. But after using it for awhile I can't go back to a smaller screen. The HTC One is actually a little longer than I would probably like I would say a 4.5 inch screen is the sweet spot for me. But the phone is amazing in many ways so I'm happy with my choice.

I did a biggest loser challenge thing at work once and basically dropped all soda/sobe that I drink. Switched to just iced tea at restaurants or water. Now regular soda is way to sweet. I maybe have one sobe a week. I still just have iced tea when going out even though that is more of a sham than soda since usually it's 2-2.50 for a glass of tea.

My wife and I go back and forth on a lot of "Home Remedies" basically herbal supplements or different vinegar/oils and things that are supposed to help with all sorts of things. So I would say some things works a bit better than a placebo and other things don't do anything at all. When it comes to health type things I've approached things from the perspective of "it might do something, but it was never designed for the specific purpose" Basically the herb might have the effect that you are looking for and it should be fine if you want to do it day to day but if you have a serious condition an herb won't have the punch that you might need. Although according to the internets Apple Cider Vinegar cures the world of everything.
