I'm on T-Mobile and I'll probably stay there forever, 3 lines with unlimited everything is around 115ish. This includes unlimited data no throttling/caps. It looks like 2 lines with 3 gigs will bring it to 90 dollars a month if you bring your own phones. And they just throttle you no fees for going over if you do.

They did kind of milk some Firefly references in the kickstarter video.

I think the main point of the movie is that it doesn't really have a time frame in connection with the show. So you don't if it is a month or two after the last episode or several years.

Some parts look like it is a Disney like movie, there were other parts that looked like it can go into some dark places though. I wouldn't count Pixar out yet it seems interesting.

Funny how this worked out. Looked like a very average movie, that would have probably been soon forgotten. Now, it seems that everyone on them Internet can't wait to see it.

Still haven't heard if it's any good.

Eh, it's okay. Definitely not worth all the drama. It had it's moments but it's basically like any other stoner type comedy.

The robots were the weirdest part of the movie for me. When they first showed up it was basically "How is that a functional robot" then the rest of the movie showed them being totally useful in all the random situations.
13  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: How do you use your tablet on: November 12, 2014, 06:27:22 PM
It's rough web browsing on the tablet for me without adblock and all the other extensions I use now on chrome.

Mostly play games and read on it.
14  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Amazon Echo on: November 06, 2014, 07:13:55 PM
I guess I want....more? I'm thinking like a central hub type deal that would interface with wireless sonos speakers, can add wireless mics. Can play from Spotify/whatever and can connect to either google now or Siri or Cortana or whatever. Along with controlling your lights/alarms/HVAC, can read me the news from an RSS feed or twitter or something.

I feel like we are getting there but everything is so disjointed.

I don't know how you can see any action movies, ever.

Most action movies don't have things that don't make sense, like a motorcycle rider getting off his motorcycle to stand in front of a flipping vehicle which looks like it would crush him, just to shoot blindly into it.  This is not typical of action movies.

Typical of bollywood action movies, which make it amazing.

If you love Kill a Kill, I strongly suggest Guuren Lagann.

Also if you can find it, Steins;Gate is pretty much my favorite anime.

As was said earlier Knights of Sidonia is pretty good. Very Evangelionesk without the total craziness towards the end.

28  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Wildstar (Carbine Studios' first project) on: June 01, 2014, 05:06:09 PM
They are from the Something Awful form, they were orginally going to be on Pergo but apparently Carbine asked them to move to warbringer because of the population on Pergo. The goon guilds usually get really big and they are usually just a giant horde of jerks. If you are Dominion also then it should be fine. Just thought I would throw it out since there is usually stigma that comes with where ever the goons are.

In either case since I'm not huge on PVP the rest of them are on Evindra which is where I have an exile guy and a dominion guy.  I'm in as SkyLander for my dominion guy if you want to friend me.

I also think a majority of dungeons or instances in general are cross realm? I'm not totally sure how that works.
29  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Wildstar (Carbine Studios' first project) on: May 31, 2014, 04:49:17 PM
Just an FYI since I know how some people can be the Goon Squad is on Warbringer, there primary faction is dominion.

I'm sure X-Wing and Tie Fighter are probably better games, but I loved X-Wing Alliance. I loved the whole story, being just a family of smugglers and flying the YT-1300 and other variants and just going out and doing runs and so forth. It was just a great game in general.

I talked to my wife and we're going to try to cut the cord (mostly) in July when our current cable deal is up. The biggest heartache for us is going to be giving up the kid channels. While Netflix has TONS of kid content, it's still a bit of a pain vs just turning on Disney Jr. and letting it run.

We're going to try to go back to a basic cable package for $20/month. This will give us all the major channels (which is pretty much all we watch anyway), and we'll have Netflix and Hulu to fill in the gaps for anything else. Worst case scenario we cave and wind up going back up to a tier that gives us the kid's channels. Even then we'll still be saving a little money over the full blown package we have now.

If you have Amazon Prime they have all of the Nickelodeon programming.

And Netflix does automatically start the next episode now, I think after 10 or so there is a popup asking if you are still watching.
32  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [movie] Captain America: The Winter Soldier confirmed on: April 17, 2014, 03:41:12 AM
To me the 3D in this movie was utterly horrible. Saving grace was that I liked the movie enough to get passed the 3D for most of it. Everyone that I went with pretty much agreed with me. It seemed like there were times where they tried to do tricks with the blur and bring into focus different things, with 3D the whole frame just became blurry. Most of the quick cuts/shaky cam fights were a blurry mess to me. I also left the movie with a pounding headache. Nothing has come close to Avatar in doing 3D well. Hence why I usually avoid it like the plague, only reason I went to this in 3D was that my boss was taking everyone out and I wanted to go to the new imax theater that opened up here. The imax screen is great and I loved the sound to bad every movie in that theater is going to be 3d so this is probably the last movie I will see in it.

Did Scarlett Johansson spend the entire movie looking like she'd lost a battle with a can of spray tan, or is it just me.  She looked oddly orange throughout the entire film.

My wife pointed this out too, she was saying her makeup didn't go with the red hair very well.
34  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: AT&T Wireless New Mobile Share Plan - Really? on: March 25, 2014, 03:46:51 PM
Yeah, I have a family plan on T-Mobile, I have unlimited everything at 110 a month, including data, unthrottled. Before I was doing 145-150ish. And for 90 percent of the places I go to I have good signal with LTE or at least HSPA+, I average around 10meg down consistently. I don't think I can ever go back to Verizon or ATT, contracts or subsidized phones. It would be a wash anyway since for a new flagship type phone I've seen 250-299 at least on verizon unless you find a good deal somewhere, whereas a Nexus phone is usually about 350.

So a good friend from work has designed a board game and he got a publisher and they just put up a kickstarter for his game.

It's a map building/town takeover kind of game. It uses quite a few familiar mechanics if you kept up with Tabletop or any recent popular games. I helped him playtest it and it is actually a pretty fun and simple game. Just wanted to throw it out there if anyone would be interested.
