Bought the game and played some levels and co-op. Very fun and fast paced, reminds me of N+ quite a bit with the silliness and art style of The Maw. I can see the difficulty ramping up a lot by the end of 50 levels.
My son did pretty decent with the controls but yeah the platforming might be a bit too challenging for him. Still fun for him to mess around with though.

I haven't owned that many consoles but if I had to pick it would be between the PSP and the Wii. Neither impressed me very much as gaming machines and I quickly lost interest in both. The PSP is long gone but I still have the Wii, it rarely gets turned on though (mainly to get rid of that occasional blue glow thing).

Grabbing this later today. I really enjoyed The Maw and this looks brilliant compared to that.
How are the controls? Is the jumping and platforming easy enough for a 7 year-old to play or is it heavy on the coordination?

I clicked the link and it brought me to some wierd Microsoft Connect page which wanted a bunch of personal information and other mumbo jumbo.... What's up with that? That's how it was last beta, too. I filled out all the information and on the next page it asked for me for a "Display name". I put in my Xbox name, and after that it took me back to the first page with the "Continue" button. Hope I got registered. Edit: Nevermind, got to the actual registration page after trying again.

I'm experiencing a lot of framerate stutter, which is something the IGN reviewer mentioned. I'm going to download the full game again and see if that helps. I'm not sure if I noticed that in the demo or not.
I played the Avatar mode online, pretty funny watching your avatar head get bigger and bigger as you amass kills.

My son and I liked the demo and bought the game. Only played it a little bit so far but it's quite a bit of fun, and looks like there is a lot to unlock.

I just finished up Overlord II and my son is wanting me to play through the first one now too. None of my local game places have it and I haven't had much luck online. I don't really have anything to trade but if anyone has a copy they don't want for like $15 shipped then please let me know. Thanks!

I watched the end of the memorial online and from what I saw it seemed like a relatively tasteful affair. It's hard to trust just how sincere the family is though considering their history and how screwed up they are. I also thought the daughter speaking briefly at the end came across as a forced moment.
Hopefully now that it's all over Michael can get some peace, as well as all of those that either loved or hated him.

If we're talking games released in 2009, I'm gonna have to go with X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Just an all around blast to play and the first game in years that I played through twice. I'm almost done with Wolverine and you know I think it's my GOTY so far too. The combat is bloody fantastic and it's the first game I've played that I felt was actually better than the movie. Red Faction: Guerilla would be my other pick. It's very repetitive but just a ton of fun to play.
