Tell you what, Scraper.  If you want to send me a can of Skyline, I will sample it again, under whatever preparation instructions you determine, and report back.  I will even defer your costs.

Did you do the typical out of towner ordering and just order a bowl of Chili, because that's the wrong way to do it? The "Chili" is really just a meat sauce, it's not what everyone else would call chili. A fresh Coney with the chili sauce, onions, mustard and a pile of shredded cheese on top is the way to go. It won't work out of the store bought cans either, it has to be at an actual skyline.

Also, the 5 way is awesome too, that works a little bit better out of a can, but in the restaurant is always better. Spaghetti, Chili sauce, onions, beans, a pile of shredded cheese, and none of this half assed cheese sprinkling, I mean a colon blocking pile of cheese.

My favorite way to have a hot dog, and to please YK there is absolutely no Ketchup on them. Mustard and Onions, with the chili sauce and cheese is the way to go. Sometimes I add hot sauce on top, but not always.

Yeah, just like the government forced all those defense industry firms to create those weapons like the M-1, F-15, F-16, F/A-18.  Companies live and die for fat government contracts.  The idea that there's any forcing going on in product creation is ludicrous, especially when the government protects their ensuing monopolies.

There's a massive difference between the government awarding a contract for goods and the government forcing a company to do something simply because its the humanitarian thing to do. Option 2 is what was floated earlier in the thread.

I agree with Isgrimnur.  This is what governments are for.  When it isn't profitable for companies to do it.

That's pretty much economics 101, but there has to be a public demand for it. The way it works in this country though, is the demand is only when there when is a current event where the press reminds the public. As soon as the press stops covering it we go back to no one caring again. That said, today the WHO pledged $100M to fight this disease.

The US government forcing drug companies to research, create, and then mass produce a drug would be the beginning of the end of pharmaceutical advancement. Like it or not the free market is the best economic system to advance medical technology. It sucks but it's the truth.

Also, I'm not too worried about Ebola in its current form for all of the reasons pointed out above, but I do hope the African Countries are some how able to contain it and stop the spread within their borders.

fwiw, Crysis 3 (an EA published game) is free next month on PS+.  Battlefield 3 and Kingdoms of Amalur were on it a year ago as well.

They aren't that common on PS+, but they have had them on (and still do).

Dead Space 3 was free on PS+ last month.

PS+ games for August

PS4
Road Not Taken
Fez (PS4, PS3, PS Vita)

PS3
Crysis 3
Proteus (PS3, PS Vita)

Vita
Metrico
Dragon's Crown (PS Vita, PS3)

I'm not sure about the cross-buy status of these games, but this is what they posted.  Fez and Proteus are cross-buy when you buy it but Dragon's Crown isn't.

I thought for sure that August would be the month that we saw AA to AAA PS4 title coming to Plus. Guess I was wrong. My money is on Thief eventually landing on PS+ for the PS4.

Necro'ing this thread because I actually just got the game. I previously tried Risen 2, but it just didn't click with me - this has.

Anyhow...I'm wondering if anyone who's completed this could let me know if it's possible to take the quests for all 3 factions in Harbortown? So far I've only been taking the quest of the group that follows the Don, but I've encountered a number offered by the Order. I'm planning on joining the Don's alliance and taking a more Rogue-like path, mostly because I almost always play casters in RPG's.  I'd like to take the other quests for experience, but I don't want to jeopardize the chances of my PC joining the Don's alliance.

Yes you can do all of them, up until the point where they give you the obvious dialogue choice to join their faction.  This XP system is a staple of the Gothic/Risen series.

I'm undecided on this one too, I may wait for impressions before I buy. But I'm not worried, the Lord of the Rings game comes out soon after and it looks awesome, the Infamous DLC comes out just before it as well. Dragon Age will also be a must buy for me, but probably on the PC.

Brazil literally had no defense. They just stood there and watched Germany take practice shots. Heck half of their goals came after multiple passes in in the box. That  shouldn't happen at this level. Hell I would be mad if the defense did that on my U9 team.
57  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Tomorrow is July 1, will we have ATB's GOTY? on: July 08, 2014, 03:44:12 PM
I'm going between Infamous and Wolfenstein right now. Both are good games. Infamous I platinum-ed and Wolfenstein is such a well built single player shooter.

I've probably put the most time into The Show 14 though, my Road to the Show character is currently in his 3rd full season.

Goat is probably Watch Dogs. I'm playing through that right now, but it's not really grabbing me, I don't like the forced stealth and the side activities feel flat. I do like the scale of the city though and I don't have a problem with the driving aspects. I'll probably burn through the main mission then never look back, unlike other open world games.

I just re-read the 2nd page of this thread to see if I could figure out what's being discussed and I can't figure it out either. I think Zeke wants HepC to admit that a decision that was counter to Hep's stance was the correct decision. But what that decision was and what stance HepC has is beyond me. I think at this point HepC and Zeke just like to argue for the sake of arguing, kind of like brothers or an old married couple.

There's no way Hetz wrote that post, is it possible Ceekay hacked into his account and has assumed Hetz's identity? Ron can you look into that?

Seriously though I think it's awesome that this console Generation is off to such a good start. I literally have a new game to play every week and I only own the PS4. Ubisoft alone has released a bunch of good games for both the PS4 and Xbone. This year alone I beat ACIV, Child of Light,  I just beat Valiant Hearts (which came out of left field for me) and I just bought Watch Dogs. That's just the games from Ubisoft. Once you get into exclusives and indie titles you can literally play a great new game every week if you want. Heck I still haven't bought Transistor. Also Sunset Overdrive may be the game that gets me to buy an Xbone.

Mexico played their hearts out yesterday, but just couldn't keep it together for the final 10 minutes against the Netherlands.  The Dutch team was patient.  They let the Mexican players wear themselves out and then capitilized on their late game mistakes.  I don't know how they do that.  I guess it's just experience.

The Costa Rica and Greece game was a nail biter too.

Some of the European and South American players are so talented, it's like they were born with a soccer ball at their feet.  I don't know how the US team stands a chance other than to maybe outwork the other teams just through sheer determination.  Some of the things I saw European and South American teams do just moving the ball around were amazing.  Backwards heel flick passes, lots of slick 1 touch passing.

That said, I hate all of the flopping, fake injuries, and pretend head bumps.  It's insane.  They look like idiots.

The US's passing and ball possession leaves a lot to be desired. This is where Bradley was supposed to help, but he isn't playing up to the level that he has proven that he can. Maybe the MLS move was bad for him?

Do you need to play the earlier ones to enjoy the new one?

Last Light is a direct sequel to 2033. So I would recommend playing both. 2033 is a really good shooter, Last Light is 2033 with improvements to the gameplay, set pieces and pacing. Both are outstanding though.

You could technically plat Last Light without playing 2033, but you would miss a lot of the story.

Also note - Amazon has the PC digital download version for $29.99.

Agreed. It's the best single player FPS to come out since Metro Last Light. And if you haven't played Last Light yet, then do so when it comes out for the PS4.

What more is there to explain? The PS3 version uses the dual shock 3 with two sticks. The PSP version has 1 stick. Thus it's easier to control the PS3 version. Not to mention it looks better.

Another group is planning a lawsuit against the Chief Wahoo logo for the Cleveland Indians.  Unlike Snyder though, Cleveland was already in the process of phasing out the logo in favor of a red block letter C.   I think they realize it was coming and they most likely won't be making as big a stink about it.  Fans, maybe a bit though.  But that's to be expected.

I live in the Cleveland area and not a single person I've spoken too think this is a good idea. Crazy.

I live near Cleveland too and the only reaction I've heard to the phasing out is that the Block C logo is really lame, it could be used for any number of teams including the Reds and the Cubs who already use a similar logo. It's just generic. But honestly Wahoo is a portrait of a racial stereotype. It's not any different than using a black face cartoon character as your logo.

In my opinion they should come up with a new logo that identifies as being Indian but isn't offensive. Heck they could take the feather from Wahoo's bandanna and focus on that and it would be better than a lame Block C.
