I have never done any of those things, nor have I even thought about sitting through 1 minute of those shows. You should all have your man cards removed, shredded and then burned.

does this mean they consider tenchu on other platforms a dead title?  too bad.  i have fond memories of the first ps1 games.

I doubt that they will use the Wii mote plus since Nintendo screwed the pooch on this one and didn't tell any of the developers they were even making the thing.

Hmmh, I looked around and the boosters are still pretty readily available (at least online). In fact, Gamestop's selling the individual Set 1 boosters for $2 a pop.

Guess I could sell these off while I'm at it, and those that won't get sold, I'll just keep. As for how much, humm, how about... $40 for one (of the two) unopened "36 booster pack" box and/or $1.25 for an individual booster pack? Shipping included, of course.

I'm going to give first dibs to anyone who wants to buy a whole "36 booster pack" box. If both boxes get sold without me having to open the suckers up, even better. Less headaches come shipping time. But if folks are more willing to buy individually I can do that too. And yeah, I realize you'd very easily be able to turn them around, and resell them at a higher price, but good will and all that.

I knew my Rasputin eye stare pic would work. I don't know if I want the entire box though. $40 is a bit stiff for me right now. I would take 10 packs though if no one takes both boxes.
2569  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Tenchu 4 on: September 23, 2008, 05:56:12 PM
Tenchu 4 was announced today and it is coming exclusively for the Wii. See here.

I'm pretty pumped up that Ubi Soft and From Software agreed to make a title for the Wii from the ground up rather than porting it from the 360 or the PS3 (or even worse from the PS2). I hope they are able to tap into some of Nintedo's Wii programming skills and really use the system to its fullest.
2570  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [News] Girl almost loses hand in jump rope accident on: September 22, 2008, 08:39:44 PM
That had to hurt like hell. I'm just glad the parent (or other adult there) had enough presence of mind to save the hand.

I had a finger severed when I was little and my Dad's friend was present when it happened and he remembered to put the finger in ice. I still lost half the damn thing, but it was the surgeon's fault and not the friend. Medical technology wasn't as good 25 years ago.

2572  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Adam Baldwin Thread on: September 22, 2008, 08:19:11 PM
So far this thread has clearly proven that ADAM BALDWIN is distantly related to the far LESS superior Long Island Baldwins and that he could kick all of their asses at the same time.

But ponder this one, what would happen if ADAM BALDWIN met Chuck Norris in a dark alley? I will have to think about the answer, but I do know that a side effect would definitely be Neil Patrick Harris weeping in a corner if he saw it all go down. He simply could not handle the levels of awesome on display in that alley.

Blast from the past!

Basically, I ended up sitting on the 3-"36 booster pack"-packs for a good couple of weeks, and then I cracked open one of them, because I'm weak and only human damn it (by the way, the total number of phantom cards I got from that one pack was 2, Dep. One Fire, one Biolith. That's right, out of ALL the cards, only 2 were phantoms).

The other two packs are still very much wrapped up. I guess I never really figured what to do with them, so I put them aside, and then as my wobbly mind is so prone on doing, forgot about them. I really should do something about that...  ninja

Uuuum. I could find something to do with them if you need me to.

What are the rules on the inclusion of stories/news on Baldwins that are NOT Adam based?  Would something about Stephen Baldwin be acceptable, or would it result in a perma ban, temporary suspsension or a groin based blow administered with some type of special groin punishment device?

Any Baldwin not named ADAM BALDWIN, will result in a groin based blow at a very minimum. For that reason CeeKay should prepare for a kick to the nads.

2578  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Adam Baldwin Thread on: September 22, 2008, 04:09:01 PM
This is the official ADAM BALDWIN thread. It was unanimously decided that GT is seriously in need of an entire thread devoted solely to ADAM BALDWIN. Within this thread you can feel free to discuss ADAM's roles in classics like Firefly, Chuck, Full Metal Jacket, Independence Day and even that time you saw a look-a-like (or perhaps the real thing) at Disney World. You can also post HAWT pictures of ADAM and hopefully some animated giffs. The only thing I ask is that you do not derail the topic.

Going back to the narrators is what made it so funny!

What made it funny was the actors performing the drunk narrator's gibberish. Instead of switching back to the drunk narrator they should have had the actors performing the entire time.

I thought it could have been a lot funnier. They shouldn't have kept going back to the drunk narrator. It broke up the perception that the actors were creating.

No, none of the 40GB versions have backward compatibility.  The 60GB version has hardware BC, and the old 80GB version has software BC (which supports less games than hardware BC).  The 80GB version that is now being released has no BC. It's very frustrating for people contemplating a purchase in the near future (like myself) who want BC.

I'm cranky today, so you get my English lesson, Teggy.

Less is used when you're talking about an unquantifiable amount.  For example, "Less Filling."

Fewer is used when the quantity can be defined with a number.  For example, "Fewer calories"  or "Fewer games."

There is a site to check compatibility (http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/CompatibleStatus), but, yeah, you're out of luck with the 40GB.

Ju just gawt pwned.

I play on the 37" Sharp Aquos 1080p and I also use it on a 52" Mitsubishi 1080i. It definitely looks better on the 37" because the jaggies are much smaller.

The biggest problem with a lot of Wii games is the lack of anti aliasing, and the bigger the screen, the bigger the jaggy.

My wife works for a very large Gas transportation company and she called me this morning telling me that the CEO of the company sent out an email to the entire company today telling them to fill up at lunch time because prices are going up. He blamed it on Ike, but apparently the company was told not to deliver any more gas to stations today (which is extremely abnormal). This company is located in Ohio, but delivers all over the US.
