DBT is going to have a problem with that link since you have to put in your date of birth and the available years don't go back far enough for him.

Did you try resetting the router? Sometimes my wireless router will stop reading Wifi but continue to read the land lines going to it and I have to restart it to get it to work again.

More new stuff dealing with Resistance Retribution and R2:

First, there's PSP Plus which allows you to plug your PSP to the PSP and then use dual analog sticks to control PSP games.  In Resistance Retrubution that will allow the game to use dual analog controls and will turn off the extra aiming box.  Other games can make use of this is other ways.  Such as the rumor of Monster Hunter United using the PS3's networking for online play.

In other R2 news, you can link up your copy of Resistance 2 with Retribution which then changes your copy of Retribution.  This mode for RR is called Infected where it actually changes the story and gameplay of RR a bit by making your character in RR infected by the Chimera virus.  The RR character then gains health regeneration (before you had to find health packs) and you can swim underwater indefinitely.  Infected mode also unlocks the use of the Magnum weapon from R2, and in a joking nod to Halo, you can find intel items which will unlock Plasma grenades that work just Halo.  Due to the Chimera virus in your blood, you'll be able to get past certain bio scanners on doors unlocking some new pathways through levels to gain access to more unlockables.  Finally, the game's narrative will change a bit where characters you meet will acknowledge that you've been infected.

Both RR and R2 sound really good. That link up feature guarantees that I will play through RR twice. Once without the link and once with it.

Looks like they're trying a new tactic with the PSP.  SCEJ just announced that the PSP Store can be accessed directly from the PSP on OCt 15th in Japan.  What's more, all future Sony titles in Japan will be downloadable from that store.

No word on whether that'll carry over to the US.

Now, if only they'd release some kind of open SDK so anyone could develop PSP apps to be sold on the store...

It's been rumored that the 5.0 firmware update will include PSN store compatiblilty so I assume the US will see that when 5.0 is released (which is supposed to along side the PSP 3000)

Do you have any other GBA or DS RPGs.

I have a boxed copy of Warhawk for Trade. I love the game but I have two copies and don't need both.

I'm open to suggestions on Wii, PS3, DS and PSP games.

2411  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Swoopo Users? on: October 07, 2008, 04:01:27 PM
So I noticed the site has had a banner for swoopo.com running and I decided to check it out. It seems it's an auction site with a focus on gaming and electronics. Has anyone here ever used it before? I read through their usage policy, apparently you have to sign up and pre-load your bid money prior to actually making a bid. Which sucks. But from watching some of the bids you can get DS Lites for about $60 plus shipping.

So does anyone have any experience with this site at all?

Ask him if Ace is as annoying in real life or just edited that way and ask him is Ace's accent is real or fake.

A 555-mile, 5-hour plane trip was flown at two speeds. For the first part of the trip, the average speed was 105 mph. Then the tailwind picked up, and the remainder of the trip was flown at an average speed of 115 mph. For how long did the plane fly at each speed?

I think the answer is pie.

On my low end Creative 5.1 surround system I can't really tell a difference. But X-Fi should theoretically make some games perform faster and it also supports EAX 4.0 and above, whereas I think Audigy cards only go up to EAX 3.

I received a review copy of this one and have been playing the heck out of it. I should have a full review up by the end of the week (I want to play all the way through it). But I will say that my initial impressions are really good. It keeps all the good things about HoMM and throws out all of the bad things. I will keep you guys posted when the review is done.

No I can't even figure out how to set t to display in 16:9. I can't find the option and the graphics driver software doesn't seem to offer one.

I just got a new V7 widescreen LCD at work. I still have the old comp (which is AMD 1800 Athlon ancient), it has a really crappy S3 graphics card. The problem is I cannot figure out how to get it to display in 16X9. It's stuck at 4:3, does anyone know how to fix this and/or does Windows provide a solution for this without the need for newer S3 drivers? I'm running XP Professional Version 3.

I tuned in for Marcus too. I haven't watched the entire episode yet, but it does seem like more of the same. If Survivor is going to last longer they really need to mix it up. Immunity Idol this and Immunity Idol that.

After a decent amount of PMing back and forth with various folks, both of the whole boxes have now been sold. And that pretty much wraps this epic story spanning 9 months in the making!

My only regret is not being able to fulfill your wish, Scraper. Anyone who quotes Rasputin in an EoJ thread deserves some boosters, damn it. But like I said, Gamestop does have 'em on-line for $2 a pop, which is still a hell of a deal.

Hey no worries. I'll just buy some from Gamestop. Normally I would have jumped on the $40 box, but money is real tight right now. I'm just glad other GTers got them.
2431  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: When Did Upturned Collars on Polos Come (back?) Into Style? on: September 25, 2008, 01:35:39 AM
The answer is never. They have never come back into style. It's just a select few douche bags who insist on wearing them up who keep it alive. It's a lot like Mullets. They were never in style, yet you can still see this abortion of a hair cut in the wild from time to time.

I would pack the cats up and drive them out to the country by some farms and let them loose. This way you are at least giving them a fighting chance of survival. Most farms like having cats around to eat the rodents.

I doubt that they will use the Wii mote plus since Nintendo screwed the pooch on this one and didn't tell any of the developers they were even making the thing.

Hmmh, I looked around and the boosters are still pretty readily available (at least online). In fact, Gamestop's selling the individual Set 1 boosters for $2 a pop.

Guess I could sell these off while I'm at it, and those that won't get sold, I'll just keep. As for how much, humm, how about... $40 for one (of the two) unopened "36 booster pack" box and/or $1.25 for an individual booster pack? Shipping included, of course.

I'm going to give first dibs to anyone who wants to buy a whole "36 booster pack" box. If both boxes get sold without me having to open the suckers up, even better. Less headaches come shipping time. But if folks are more willing to buy individually I can do that too. And yeah, I realize you'd very easily be able to turn them around, and resell them at a higher price, but good will and all that.

I knew my Rasputin eye stare pic would work. I don't know if I want the entire box though. $40 is a bit stiff for me right now. I would take 10 packs though if no one takes both boxes.
