You have taken leave of your senses. MGS2 is possibly the best game of the series.
Seriously? Part 2 is no where near as good as 3. Two was the worst offender of 20 minute cutscene, followed by walking down a hallway, only to get another 20 minute cutscene. And don't even get me started on Raiden or the fact that the entire game took place in one boring grey environment.

MGS3 in the context of the other 2 is something that you should experience. Bottom line. 3 is definitely a great game and shouldn't be missed. But I think one could probably skip part 2 and just play 1 and 3 and still get enough of the story. It's hard to pass up when Konami just released the MGS pack with 1,2 and 3 in one set. Also, I just played 3 last year and I think it stands up very well against any next gen game that I have played. The graphics are really good for a PS2 game and the story is excellent.

I have a Sharp Aquos and this happened to me one time with the PS3. All I had to do was completely powerdown the PS3 and then the PS3 recognized the HDMI cable setup and went back through the display setup to select 1080p as the default resolution. The weird thing was it completely reset my theme as well so I had to go back in and reset it as too. Not sure why it did that, but it seemed to fix itself.
For comparison sake I have:
20 Gig Launch Ps3, with 160 gig HD in it . 37" Sharp Aquos bought in November of 2007.

Is that Mysteries of Westgate? Apparently, that adventure pack has been done for a while now but Atari has been dicking around over the digital security system for the download. Sigh. yeah that's it, so it's not Waterdeep, its Westgate. For some reason I had Waterdeep on the brain. Anyway I wish Atari would quite messing around with it and just get it released.

Second movie was too outrageous & cartoon like even for action movie The series officially went to shit when he jumped the car flipping it over midair, in order to use the crane to pull a bomb off the bottom of the car and then landed it perfectly.

This is really surprising to me because it seems like it will certainly alienate a lot of their Japanese fans who don't own a 360 and never will.
My guess would be that Microsoft was really trying hard to get all their titles onto the 360 first, but Square Enix said no to Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, but said yes to lesser selling titles like Star Ocean and others.

Oh, and Tom Bombadil was highly overrated! He was obviously some drug-induced creation from Tolkien created solely to get the hobbits some safety. How dare you Sir. That tree surely would have killed poor Sam and he would have eaten all of Sam's Shire Weed if it hadn't been for Mr. "ding a long, dillio dong doo, hey! Doolabadoo fa la la ring a ding!"

you can't go wrong with Motorstorm. I love that game and I usually don't like racing games.
Uncharted like the others have said is REALLY good.
For the youngster I would definitely get Ratchet and Clank.

I can't give ally'all LotR even. The first movie so close to perfect that they others lacked by comparison, which is not to say that they weren't excellent. However, I don't go all fanboy critical over Fellowship, I do over the other two. From CGI Legolas to the train wreck that was Faramir they were "worse" even in the special editions. It just so happens the bar was set so impressively high by the first installment that the others could afford to fall short and still be excellent movies.
Let's see how the new Batman does. The Dark Knight has me so excited I might just icon_eek retard paranoid excuse me.
Agreed. Considering the extended versions and theatrical releases, Fellowship was by far the best of the three LOTR movies in my opinion. (all were excellent, however). I know this is really dorky, but I wish they had included Tom Bombadil in the extended version. His chapter was always one of my favorites in the entire series. He is such a classic character it would have been great to see him on the big screen. That is my biggest complaint with the Fellowship.

The Final Fantasy Tactics game is essentially the same game that was released on the PS1, only with updated cinematics, so if you have already played that game you may want to pass on it.
I do recommend Crisis Core, I wrote a review for it on the main page you can read.
Other than that I don't think you can go wrong with the GoW bundle. Once you actually get the PSP you can go online with your computer and download demos, wallpapers and such. You can also buy Castlevania Symphony of the Night for about $9 on the playstation store. That game is a steal at that price.

The only two series I saw that no one has mentioned is the Blade series (which one could argue got better as it went, Jessica Biel's shower scene making the 3rd one better than the others for that reason alone) and the Mexican Series (certainly Desperado was better than the original and Johny Depp steals the show in Once Upon a Time in Mexico).

Waiting to nail down some exact dates to announce. ninja2 I'll go ahead and spoil his surprise. KD is actually working on a deal to sell ad space exclusively to Hillary Clinton's campaign. Complete with Hillary's picture taking up an entire 50% of the page for her ad banners. Thus increasing revenues 100 fold and enabling us to create a better site. It should be great when it goes live.

How many people in Florida and Michigan did not vote because they knew their primary vote did not count? I would be willing to bet a ton of people didn't vote because it was pointless. If they had known that their votes would actually go towards the delegate count then they may have had incentive to get out and vote. I vote in every election because my vote is actually counted. But if I knew that my vote was literally not going to count towards the final outcome then I wouldn't even bother to vote. Asking for a change in the rules after the game has been played is a slap in the face to every registered voter in those states.

Ask the dev what they thought when Matt Damon said he wouldn't lend his likeness or voice to the game because he's anti video game violence. I heard in an interview that they didn't approach him for his likeness because at the time that they were developing the game Damon had stated that he was done with the Bourne Universe. Sounds silly to me, but that's what they said.

This is sickening to read. The failure rate of these things must be close to 100% over a 2 to 3 year period. It seems like everyone on here has had theirs die. I've been teetering on a PS3 purchase anyway, and I think if my 360 RROD's, I'd probably get a PS3 that same day. I'm one of those people that waited to buy the 360 and I would have eventually bought it, but the RRoD combined with my purchase of a PS3 has made it a no purchase for me. I don't regret going PS3 and PC at all.

He will protect the rights of hunters and other law-abiding Americans to purchase, own, transport, and use guns for the purposes of hunting and target shooting. This is where I strongly differ from his stance. Guns are not in the second amendment simply for hunters and sportsman for the purposes of hunting and target shooting. It clearly states that there is also an intent to have a well armed militia. It is a very telling quote that Obama is not in support of the 2nd amendment as it is fully intended.

What the heck is this country coming to? It is illegal to smoke in public in Burbank. My question is how far are we willing to go as a society to provide a "safe" environment for the masses? Should we not be allowed to smoke in our own cars for fear that some of it might leak out and get into the car behind us? Should we outlaw standing near camp fires? Should we dispose of all fireplace chimneys? Seriously it's getting ridiculous.
I'm amazed everytime people pass new laws taking away our freedom.

This is pretty sad. I too wish Microassfuck would take some time and punish the racist pricks that pollute live, and quit worrying about stupid shit like a little slander against "The Man".
I was in a game of COD4 the other night, and there was a clan of southern sounding rednecks, that were spewing some of the worst racial slurs I've ever had the displeasure to hear. I don't think they were kidding either. It really takes away from the enjoyment, and if I was a member of the race that they were slamming.. probably would have been even more bothered by it.
I recognize freedom of speech etc, but it should be an all or none. I know I can mute people.. but I shouldn't have to do it on a regular basis. Part of the reason I prefer playing with people I know.
Oh, and if anyone hasn't experienced this yet.. fire up a game of RB6:Vegas. You've been warned.
-1 Microsoft
Please, for the love of God, can we get past the labeling of "Southern" people as rednecks? I have a Southern accent (though anyone that has talked to me will verify that it is hardly a drawl) and I get so sick and tired of being called a redneck (even though I am as far from being one as possible), just because of my geographical location or my accent. Rednecks are just as prevelent in Western Pennsylvania, as they are where I live in Tennessee. The vast majority of people in the South are the complete opposite of the idiots you encountered, and I hear just as many people with a Northeastern or Midwestern accent throw around the "N" word or other slurs, as I do people with a Southern accent. Historically the term Redneck originated from West Virginia coal miners. The Union went on Strike and they wore red scarfs around their neck as part of the strike. They even went so far as to take up arms and fight with mercenaries that the mine owners hired. Thus the striking miners became known as Red Necks. So technically the term redneck shouldn't even apply to Southerners. Instead I prefer to call them "ignorant, slow, mouth breathing, racist, HONKEYS". JK.

when you guys pick up your copies of MGS4 on the 360 will you grab me a copy of Bioshock for PS3?
thanks.
That's pretty funny. I bet it doesn't take as long to switch out that many discs as it takes for the intial 12 hr install on PS3 . If the game truely does take up the entire Blu-ray disc then that pic isn't too far off. As absurd as it is the game would have to be on about 10 dvd's and that's assuming they don't add things in to make it the director's cut, which you know they will add stuff. SUre you can compress but that's a lot of compressing to do.

I seem to recall reading that the PS3 version didn't have as good of graphics or performance.
I can't really compare the graphics since I haven't played the 360 version, but I have played through about 50% of the game on the PS3 and I haven't noticed any slowdown or long load times for the game. It runs smooth, I just don't know if it looks the same as the 360 version.

might give it a rent after all. tried Eternal Sonata and really didn't like the battle system. i'm more the traditional JRPG style battles, compared to what Eternal Sonata offered.
any difference in the 360 and PS3 versions? it matter which one to rent? one have better frame rates or added content or anything of that nature?
I have the PS3 version. It's more of the director's cut version. It has more Golems to collect and I think it has a couple more cut scenes. The game runs smooth too. It also only costs $19.99 at most stores so it can't hurt to try it. My only warning is to play past the first 3 hours or so, because it will definately get better.

OK I just rolled a CoV toon on virtue, his name is Scraper Von Doom. Hopefully the devs wont change my name.
First off - isn't Scrapper spelled with two P's? Second off - as long as he doesn't look like Doom, I think you're safe. Doom is too generic of a name by itself. Scrapper is indeed spelled with two Ps, but Scraper is only spelled with one P. There is a difference, look at my pic if you need help.
