I'm finishing up with season 1 (just finished the Power of Madonna, incredible episode) but my power was out when it came on so I'm going to have to catch it on Hulu.

I'm so disappointing in you now CeeKay. Your coolnees level just went straight down to zero for admitting that you watch Glee.

CeeKay no longer has an avatar.  What are you trying to hide?  Old skeletons in the closet perhaps?

just avoiding a repeat of the avatar madness from last time.

Avatar madness? Wow! Thats threat analysis I can get behind.

Ok, I guess its time for me to turn on my "scoopiness".

Ok, only info anyone has at this point is who they are, what the avatar is  icon_razz, and what role they may or may not have. Correct?

First off, we got a whole bunch of roles going on in this game. Two teams with a third that know who they are and are trying to unlock itself that is where the interesting wrinkle is for this game.

The vamps would be nervous about voting wouldn't they? Afraid they might accidentally kill of a team mate. So, I expect that the non-voters or people making sure they vote stays off the trains should be eye balled very tightly tomorrow.

Second, I'm not sure how you guys doing anything around here but when we get to N-1 (one vote shy of lynch) please NO ONE post the kill vote until the lynchee gets to data dump what he is. Since we have no information to start the game this could save a pain later on. We don't want to kill the Seer on Day one before they get a scan do we?

Third, don't vote for me. I am your only shot to win the game. If you haven't played a WW game with me before then you need to know that I have an uncanny ability to win a game all by myself. Even Grundbegriff fears my analytical skills.

Ok, glad I could help. Now vote with me and lets put scrapper on the scrap pile!

Lol, I find this funny since I could very well say the same thing about myself and our chances of winning. Scoop really just showed me who he is. Or perhaps we are the same and don't know it yet?

sounds like a couple of vamps bantering back and forth...the "or perhaps we are the same and don't know it yet?" comment is pretty vamp/goth like....

Here's my Senior pic for confirmation on that. I still want to know how CeeKay got a hold of this.  icon_twisted

I've never gotten around to playing any of these.  Should I jump into 3, or seek out one of the first two? Can you even find the first two for a reasonable price now?

None of them are direct sequels, and honestly there isn't much of a story anyway, so part 3 is fine to start with. Just be prepared for a difficult, but fair game.
2051  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Etrian Odyssey 3 on: September 21, 2010, 02:09:41 PM
So Etrian Odyssey 3 comes out today. I have been playing a review copy for a couple of days now and my pre-review impressions are that if you liked part 1 or 2 then you should love part 3. The basic formula hasn't been messed with, but the addition of a separate Ocean map and Forgeable weapons really adds to the overall package.

The difficulty level is still there. I have easily put 15 hours into the game and I'm still only at the 3rd floor.

Ask away if you have any questions about the game. I hope to have my full review up by the end of the week.
2052  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [WW] GTville VI: Bloodlust DAY ONE on: September 21, 2010, 01:59:17 PM
There are two basic rules to finding a wolf:

1. Tie rocks around a person, throw them in a river and if they sink they were probably an innocent villager.
2. If they make 3 posts in less than 4 minutes then they are definitely a Wolf.

I don't think we have to tie rocks around Scoop to know that he is a wolf.

Soooo many hot buttons. No idea how to even play them now. Think Ill create a new toon on there to join you all with. Whats the name of the guild now?

Watchers of Middle Earth is the kin.

Look up Hanton, Hantin, or Brohiem for invites. But I think you may already have some toons in it.

I just downloaded the free client then logged in using my old account info.

Is it true you have to pay for everything past the starting areas? I actually own the moria exp ..do I still have to either pay to get that stuff or pay $15 a month for it?....if so I dont see myself paying for other lands if I own them...not fair.

I dont think that's true. I think you pay for the Expansion, then you can play it in the F2P. That's tha nature of the beast. You should be ok to play Moria content, so long as you already bought the expansion.

Sorry Scraper, but I wound up going back to Landroval. I've got two 40+s on there and I kind of wanted to keep all my characters on there. We also still have a couple of folks who are still in the Eyes of the Watcher guild so the OOers are starting to gravitate back to it.

I do like the idea of starting completely from scratch on a totally brand new server, but I don't really want to do it unless we start a guild and get organized. If I'm just going to run around solo, I'm better off on Landroval where I at least have old guild connections.

Here's the good part my guild is started and organized, and it has been around since the start of the game. We will all be running new toons starting today too to help out all the new players. Look me up on Teard around 9pm eastern tonight. I will be on.

It's not a new concept for Codemasters. You haven't been around in LOTRO for very long, but I can assure you this has happened before. It tends to happen when there are problems with the American launch (and there has been some pretty big problems this time from what I hear). Codemasters lets Turbine fix the biggest issues before translating the patch to the EU client. We have to wait longer (sometimes for weeks), but when we do get the patch, it works much better than the one the Americans got initially.

Dammit, we Americans are sick of being your unpaid beta testers! We demand restitution!  *Fist Shaking* @#$(*&% smirk

2071  Non-Gaming / Political / Religious Nonsense / Re: CrraAAAzzzzEEEE Republican Phil Davison on: September 09, 2010, 06:51:01 PM
The story behind this is that the Deputy Treasurer just got arrested for stealing $4 million dollars from the county over the past couple of years. This lead to everyone asking why the actual Treasurer never noticed $4 MILLION dollars going missing. He then got booted out by his fellow Democrats. You see the Treasurer never caught it, a bank teller did and then the FBI got involved. Thus leading to the Republican FURY you see on the tape.

For those of you interested in playing LotRO and joining an established Kin here is the info for mine:

Server: Elendilmir
Kinship: Watchers of Middle Earth
My Toons: Hanton (Main), Hantin (Brand New low level Alt), Hanthras (Alt), McLush (Alt)

The Kin has been around since the game launched and it's composed of non-demanding players. Meaning you won't have any required meetings, events, attendance, etc. Instead you can come and play as you like, but at the same time we have a solid bunch of vets who are more than willing to help new players when asked. All the older players plan on rolling new toons to play with the influx of new or returning players.

Even if you don't want to join the kin add me to your friends list and give me a shout. I am more than willing to play with GTers.

Nothing has been done yet. I'd expect this in the next patch (ie. not the one this week).

The instances and raids will be way more accessible with this change. No more need to do the same instance over and over in order to qualify for the next one, which you'll have to do over and over to qualify for the raid you REALLY wanted to do from the beginning. Since Radiance goes away, the massive amounts of Dread in the high-level instances will also have to be reduced to compensate, but that's the way it always was before the expansions anyway.

Nothing is going to get easier. It's just going to get more fun. I've already seen posts from people who left the game when Radiance was introduced, but who are now coming back because it gets removed again. I certainly understand that.

Turbine knew already when Moria was released that Radiance wasn't working the way they had hoped. They tried to fix it with Mirkwood by giving us access to Radiance gear through Medallions, reducing the massive grind to just a large grind. It didn't solve squat. They seem to have accepted the community feedback now.

To me the introduction of medallions did solve some thing. Now you could run any Moria instance or Mirk instance and get several medallions that could be used for any radiance piece that you wanted. THis was a huge improvement over only having one coin per instance and each coin being gear specific. It was and still is easy to find a grand stair group and gert every peice you wanted from just running that one instance.

ah - now I understand..of course you can reach lvl 65 without doing those...Hell, you can reach lvl 50 in the new f2p , if you are willing to forego a lot of stuff.

I find the game incredibly easy, and I like challenges which in LOTRO are mostly in the instances. From moria you'll need radiance in your armor to be not succumb to fear in the instance. To get radiance armor, you'll need to grind other instances.

I'm playing the game the way its meant to, IF I want to take part of the challenging areas of the game.

edit: This should probably go to the Lotro discussion, since I cant comment at all on how WoW is these days, so no comparison :-)

You only really need radiance if you want to do the raids. Which IMHO is really only for the hardcore anyway. You can do pretty much everything else in the game without radiance, in fact some of the craftable armor is better than the radiant gear anyway.

Sure the standard open world is easy and solo-able but like you said, if you want to do the raids then you have to put more effort into it. It's not like WoW where you can just walk into the end game content with little to no effort.
