I beat the game over the weekend as a good guy. Now I restarted on Expert as a bad guy. This second go around is definitely much faster and the expert mode really isn't all that hard. With about 4 hours in my second play through I've already unlocked the third power set. The Platinum shouldn't take me that much longer to get, assuming I keep skipping all the optional content.

Much as I like the show they have so many story threads it seems like more get diminished and forgotten. Malcom Merlin pops back alive with the secret father link but then poof he's gone. The city politician that's running for mayor who moonlights looking like scarecrow(don't know if that's who he's actually supposed to be) while working with Slade but he's disappeared too. Also they kinda wasted Summer Glau as a guest by having her just bat a few eyelashes and trade some barbs with Oliver. The writers could do a better job planning the story out and not leave so many dangling plotlines.

I agree that they have a ton of side stories going on, but my guess is that both Merlin and Summer Glau are build up for season 3. My best guess is that Glau is somehow tied in with the League of Assassins, which would also tie in with Merlin and will create the ongoing story for season 3. Remember we still haven't seen how Sarah becomes the Canary. We know she was trained by the league though.

As for Brother Blood, I was also wondering if Slade killed him off screen or not because he hasn't been on the show for a while. Also this is what Wikipedia has to say about the comic book version of Brother Blood
The first Brother Blood encountered by the Titans was the eighth to bear the title. Seven hundred years earlier, a priest in the fictional nation of Zandia named Brother Sebastian killed another priest to gain possession of what he believed to be Christ's prayer shawl. The shawl gave him invulnerability and reduced his aging, but the priest he killed cursed him to be slain by his son before his hundredth birthday. Upon doing so, his son became the second Brother Blood. He, in turn was killed by his son, and this continued for seven centuries

I'm doubting my ability to get all trophies. I spent a good 15-20 minutes last night rampaging on cars to get the "Destroy 5 in 5 seconds" trophy. I swear to god I did it like 10 times but no trophy popped.

I found a parking lot on the west side of town near the water where there were 10 or so cars parked next to each other. The trick is to hit all 5 within 5 seconds. It was easy there. Just jump in the middle and do a slam.

I can see where doing the side mission stuff would get repetitive - it's the same problem that plagued AC4. However, that's a little bit self-inflicted. Last night I decided to just stop the side stuff hamster wheel and hit the main missions again, and that broke the monotony. It's still really fun though. Unlike Assassin's Creed, I always feel in danger when entering combat.

I usually spend about half my play time collecting side stuff and the last half doing story missions. It's a good mix for me. But then again I obsessed over all the collectibles in ACIV as well, so this is my type of game to begin with.

I think its because I start to wonder if they walked around all day like that or if it was just a brief event that was caught on camera and then inadvertently shared with the world.

Those reviews are good enough for me. I didn't expect Game of the Year, I just want something to play besides Knack.  icon_biggrin

Exactly! smile

I was not expecting it to be the second coming....just a fun superhero type game that looks awesome. I loved the other games in the series (and so did my wife), so I am perfectly fine with it being similar to the others. What exactly were some reviewers expecting?

It's the same with Titanfall, which unfortunately seems to be what everyone is comparing it to, even though they are completely different. I went into TitanFall expecting a fun multiplayer shooter and I got that. I understand that MS wants people to think it is the second coming, but I wasn't expecting it to be, and I had fun.

Overall, I think people just need to stress less over reviews. They are just opinions and everyone just has to learn to relax and enjoy the games. smile

This same thing happened With Batman Arkham Origins. Reviewers universally bashed the fact that it didn't do a whole lot new. So I went into the game thinking I wasn't going to enjoy it very much. But guess what? I loved Batman 1 and 2, and I loved Origins just as much, if not more (Mostly because I really liked the Joker vs. Batman Origin story). So the fact that InFamous 3 doesn't deviate too far from the previous games is just fine with me. Especially since I loved both InFamous 1 and 2.

Are you playing with the unlocked sphere grids so you can experiment more with your character builds, or do you fall into the camp of people who believe that just removes the safeguards preventing you from hobbling your party?

-Autistic Angel

I went with the standard grid.  Partly because I didn't want to accidentally gimp my characters, and partly because the unique roles each character plays is a big part of the story.  Messing with that and making Yuna a melee fighter or Kimahri a healer would just mess with the core of the game, IMHO.

This is exactly why I went with Standard.  I think I had started to play this on PS2 but got rid of my PS2 and didn't play very much of it back at the time.  However, I have no memory of the beginning of this game...for some reason I remember it starting on a beach or something and it starts in a city.  At any rate, anxious to play both of these HD remakes to play these two games I never played.  So far, they look good on Vita.

I'm in the same boat. I started X on the PS2 back in the day but never got past the two hour mark, even though this type of Final Fantasy is my favorite. It seems like a mix between the PS1 era and XII and XIII. So I picked it up on the Vita, this time I vow to finish it. X-2 I'm not so sure about, but I will definitely finish X.

I picked this up for the Vita as a digital download from amazon for $15. So far the game has surpassed my expectations. Since it is a 3DS and Vita duel release I assumed the graphics would be bad, but they really aren't. The game looks like it was originally designed for the Vita and it appears to use the Unreal Engine.

The game play is a mix of the Arkham games and Metroidvania. It's a 2D platformer, but almost all of the controls are identical to the console versions and the fighting system is exactly the same. At the same time it has the same 2D exploration system found in the Metroidvania games. It even has a separate story line from the Origin games on the consoles.

The only downside to the game is that there isn't a leveling system. There are tons of unlocks to find and new weapons to find, but no leveling up.

It's easily worth the $15 I paid on Amazon.

< EIGHT paragraphs of text letting all Bone users know how it's not going to help them>

If you don't want to be seen as a participant of the console war, stop being a champion warrior of one side even to the extent of coming into the thread of the console YOU DON'T OWN and posting an 8 paragraph essay about it.

I'm sure this post will be replied to with:

OMGz I'm a victim and the only European highly skilled programmer and thus the only true authority to speak on these matters TOTALLY neutral party who is being picked on by the TRUE console war brutes!   See?  I've even tried to extend the olive branch in a couple threads but the others are not civilized enough to take my crap...err... Did I cover everything?

Edit to add:  Oh right.  I forgot the couple of fellow-PS4 non-Xbox One owners that come in after you to pat you on the back.   How could I allow such an oversight?

Cranky much? Did you even bother to read his post? He didn't rip on the bone at all, instead he talked about how DX12 really wouldn't help the Bone or the PS4 at all. Whether or not he's right is one thing, but I hardly see how his "8 paragraphs" is fanning the flame war.

They finally got my key to me late yesterday afternoon...but only after sending me an erroneous email telling me my key had been shipped out via Royal Mail and to expect it in 6 to 12 business days.  When I blew my top over that, they apologized and said it was yet another technical error on their part.

So, they're legit...they're just not very good at what they do.  I stick to my earlier advice and say they're not worth it.

I have a feeling they are operating out of someones garage and they will more than likely stay in the garage.

Off the topic of adds and DX12, has anyone been using the fitness programs? Specifically P90X and Sean Ts, and if so does it add anything over their standard DVDs? I have P90X1 but I was thinking about buying Sean Ts, which will run me about $150. Are these workouts still free if you have Gold and if so are they going to remain free or do you need a separate subscription? Also is it worth buying the Xbone just for this function (assuming you work out enough to use it, which I do)? I already have the PS4 and a good PC and to be honest the Xbone doesn't offer enough exclusive games to make me interested in the console for exclusives alone.

So can I justify spending $500, plus $50 for Gold in order to gain all the workout programs? Also what workout programs are on there?

It's not like not having Xbox Live is going to prevent you from being the target of political ads from every other media stream you consume.

I have never encountered a political ad arriving through PSN, Steam, Origin, uPlay, Stardock, or GoG.  Until that changes, deciding not to have XBox Live will at least prevent me from being the target of political ads while I'm gaming.

-Autistic Angel

With the number of ads that are on Xbox Live I'm amazed they actually still charge for Gold. My 360 is collecting dust because I refuse to pay for Live at this point. If I could use it to play Netflix and Amazon it would get daily use.

Also, come election time I refuse to watch live TV, games are an escape, god forbid the countless political adds invade that space.

Yeah, it saves whenever that bear shows up. I've had some framerate issues on the PS3 at times, but generally fine. Only a few hours in but having fun. There are inside jokes everywhere and in all of the junk across the game.

I'm on the PS3 and I get the frame rate issues too, but it seems to be limited to just after you enter an area. If you stand still for a second and let everything load it smooths back out. The one exception to this was in Al Gore's storage locker, for some reason that area slowed down really bad.

On a side note the only other nitpick I have with the game comes near the end of the 1st day when you have to do a quick button press event. It was really hard, it took me about 20 tries to beat it and the only reason I beat it is because I took the flat side of a crayon and used it to mash the button, that seems to be way faster than using your finger.
