A digital only model will not work in the US at this point or anytime in the next 3 years. The reason is simple, there is a large percentage of the US population that don't have access to internet service that is fast enough to make the download option more appealing than the disc based option. Until high speed internet is widely available to most of the population this will not change.

Heck I still don't have a Netflix subscription because I have no way of streaming the service at a fast enough rate.

The one exception for me is Steam. I can put up with Downloading a 20 gig game at 120k per second when the game is 75% off.

Well this was a surprise! My publisher is putting the book out early and the paperback just appeared on amazon. The ebook will be appearing on all sites over the next week or so. Not sure when the audio book hits but I think it will be out by the end of the month.

Spoiler for Hiden:
From Among the Dead:

She fought to steady her hand as she lowered the blade. It almost dipped to the ground, but she refused to drop it. It was hers; she had purchased it, practiced with it, bloodied it, and eventually killed with it. They had a history, Kate and this sword, and no man in a green suit was going to separate her from it.

Another joined him and pointed a gun at her. He spoke, but she had trouble processing the words. Of course she wasn't bitten; of course she wasn't one of them. The words came out in a jumble, slurred and bereft of conviction.

“Have you been bitten?” the other man screamed as he chambered a round. Why do they always do that? she wondered in some vague region of her mind that was still lucid. Why do they always chamber a round to emphasize a question? It was enough to point a gun at someone’s head; you didn't have to be a dick about it.

She tried to reason, to tell him everything was okay, but those words didn't come out. Instead, she said the only thing that she wanted to be remembered for.

“Fuck you, asshole.”

Then a hole opened up, and she swam toward it.

Sweet!

I just spent a good ten minutes trying to find a source for your assertion and failed.  Can you please link us to evidence of the medical diagnosis you're talking about?

-Autistic Angel

I don't know about on a national level, but locally for me it has declined significantly. There used to be several "homes" that while not technically insane asylums, did act as institutions where people could live who had mental health problems. Now all of those homes are gone, due to a cut in funding. And all we have left are Mental health facilities that are very limited in what they can do for people who don't fall into the severely mentally disabled label. This also means that a mentally unsound person is much less likely to be properly diagnosed, much less treated. It's a real problem where I live, and one that I deal with through my work.

Again this is locally, I can't say what is happening on a national level.

That Darksiders Franchise deal was amazing. Best deal I have ever seen in Steam. Especially since part 2 is a really good game. Also the Grimrock and Orcs Must Die 2 deals were pretty good (I already have both though). I did pick up Amnesia for $5 which I thought was good.

I really don't have high hopes for this movie. The book is decent enough, but turning it into a movie seems like it would be really boring. Unless they turn the sessions at Command School into real looking space battles, and even then the characters would seem so detached. Not sure how they are going to pull this off without spoiling the end.

I decided I would pick up the "deluxe" version of this only if I stumbled across one but I wasn't going to go out of my way to track one down. On a whim, stopped in my local BB on the way home and they had one left from the shipment that got that day, along with a good number of the basic system. Snagged it about 30 seconds before someone else showed up looking for one and also picked up ZombieU. Got started late with the setup and gave up on the system update at midnight after two hours of "downloading". Woke up this morning to find it had failed.  icon_cry

Guess I'll repeat the update tonight and see how it goes, then perhaps actually play a dang game. Or try to transfer stuff off my Wii...

I saw both versions at a local Target yesterday. On a whim I looked up what the system is going for on Ebay and it seems like they are selling for near retail. So even though the sales numbers are strong I wouldn't say the demand is too far ahead of the supply.

Spoiler for Hiden:
I didn't see that mask on her underneath the Helmet,or is that pic from a later episode? the pic isn't from an episode that you guys have seen yet, right?

as i just found out,the UK is only 6 days behind(at this very moment,4th Dec they have both shown the same episodes)

Still enjoying it though,i know it has been picked up for the full season, but how is it doing in The States?(i don't want another cancellation of a series i watch)

The last numbers I saw had it being the highest rated show on its network, and then it got picked up for a full season. I haven't seen anything to show that the ratings have dipped at all, so I would say this one will get picked up for season 2 for sure. So far it's getting higher ratings than Smallville did in season 1 (Which was on the same network here), so that's a good sign.

GOTY: Walking Dead and Riders of Rohan

GOATS: This is a toss up between Diablo 3, ME3, and Guild Wars 2.

GW2 just did not click with me at all. The lack of actual classes that matter, the fact that every single map is a square made up of a bunch of small towns in a circle around the square, the lack of a good storyline, It was just a huge let down for me.

ME3= The ending

Diablo 3 was fun for one or two play throughs, but it got old really quick, even when playing co-op with friends. Diable is not supposed to get old quick.

Christie’s surprising answer:

I have no idea, nor am I the least bit concerned or interested. I’ve got a job to do here in New Jersey that’s much bigger than presidential politics and I could care less about any of that stuff. I have a job to do. I’ve got 2.4 million people out of power. I’ve got devastation on the shore. I’ve got floods in the northern part of my state. If you think right now I give a damn about presidential politics then you don’t know me.

Rick, it does not apply to any of those.

I said I Kid, sort of, only because I think there is a larger percentage of Obama supporters that really should be tested in some way before voting.  Controversial obviously, and I realize and respect why  that will never happen. Still though, after watching and listening to many interviews of Obama supporters this past year the thought entered my mind for the first time.

Similar to the time I was almost hit head on by a 90 yo lady going the wrong way on a one way street.  Elderly people should really be tested occasionally after a certain point to determine whether they're capable of driving safely.  If I were 80, I'd want to be tested .

Most people think that other people are stupid. But it's the smart people that know that they are a part of those "people". Saying that Obama supporters need tested and not other groups is just ignorant and shows an inability to analyze yourself and your fellow party members.
