Just in case anybody has been under a rock. Brandon Hantz was pretty much the reason they axed the non-jury members showing up for the reunion. Maybe it would have been tried anyway, but they couldn't give that young man any more screen time. He needs real help, not publicity.
I missed the non-jury members less than I thought I was going to.
Yep they nixed it because of Brandon. Did anyone else catch that they didn't give Eric 1 second of talk time in the reunion. He didn't even get to explain his "injury". Weird for a guy that made it to the final 5. When that episode with Eric gasping for life aired I had a funny feeling about it all. He seemed to be acting to me. As you all know Eric really has some self-esteem issues, always looking to be liked by everyone, and also seeking attention. I believe once the med staff did a thorough examination they realized the scam. That's why he sat on the back benches with a gag order on him. What else could it be? Allegedly he had a cut on his leg that got infected early on in the game, it never healed properly and when combined with the lack of nutrition the infection got the better of him. At least that's what he said in an interview. He also said he was so out of it during that tribal that he didn't even know who got voted out.

My 7 year old loves this series. He watches them non stop. So needless to say we will be there to see it in the theater. His obsession is all about the cars and the driving scenes. I tolerate it for the "scenery" at the inevitable car parking lot party scene. Also, the one "weapons" chick in part 5 is pretty darn hot.

I liked LoTro when I first played. I left when the first or second expansion was up for sale. I think something else was out around that time. If I were to pick this game up again, would I have anything other than the original cd to pay for? Was there any kind of graphical update put out after the CD? Is the community at a healthy level? As Crawley said the game went free to play a couple of years ago and most of the early level content really is free. But the game has added a TON of content since its launch and most of that will cost you either in game earned currency or real life money. It is possible to play the game for free and unlock a lot of the content just by playing, but that is the long hard road. Your best bet would be to buy the content packs that group a bunch of the content areas together. By content I mean questing zones. Once you unlock a quest zone you unlock most of the content in that zone. Also, there is a healthy player base still, but some servers are definitely busier than others.

I feel I need to apologize for taking my bad mood out on the people here. I happened to be browsing GT when my husband brought a letter from our health insurance in for me to read, and I just got rather shocked, and yes, angry, so I typed what I did when I usually just read and get on with things.
I'll ditto Ron here and thank you for keeping it classy. When I read your first post I imagined you as a pissed off fire breathing dragon bashing away at her comp, now I see a nice person typing at their computer. Back on topic: I am not pleased, but probably for different reasons and when I imagine what the alternative option for President would have done instead I don't think they would have done things all that differently.

I wish one of these devs would just make a Diablo game and make us pay for the full game instead of creating IAP gameplay. The IAP system doesn't look nearly as bad as DH4 so far, but it's still a disappointment.
I'm a little surprised Blizzard hasn't figured out how to clone D2 over the iPad yet. Seems like that would be a license to print money. Modern day Blizzard could probably do it but if they started today they probably wouldn't release it until sometime in 2016 and even with that amount of time it would be a stripped down version with a mandatory internet connection using up your data plan.

Well this game came out of nowhere for me TIme and Eternity . It's a hand drawn RPG for the PS3. Think Ni No Kuni mixed with Sailor Moon style characters. It looks promising. Hopefully the storyline is somewhat decent and not off the wall crazy like a lot of NIS produced RPGs.

I watched the whole season. To me this is a show that would have been much better on a network like HBO or Showtime. Let them really go for the brutality. Still it was worth watching. I'll watch season 2 for sure.

I've always wondered if foreign people prefer the standard "Hollywood" American accent or the standard Southern Accent? No one could possibly like the New York, New Jersey, or Boston accents so I am leaving them out of this question.

My initial impression is that they crammed a ton of stuff into the pilot. So much material that it would have taken other really well written shows an entire season to get through it all and really flesh it out. For instance a seemingly main character was murdered right before a commercial break and they had caught the unknown killer and wrapped up all the subplots with that murder prior to the next commercial break, and so on. It doesn't mean it was a bad show, it just felt rushed. I will keep watching to see where it goes from here.

I really enjoyed the show. I thought it was consistently funny from beginning to end.
I'm with you on this one. My favorite scenes always involved his assistant. The time where she suggests that he become a chimney sweep or a pedophile detective is pure gold.

I'm with the above two jokers. BSG had some of the best damn acting on a sci fi show ever. And the special effects were pretty damn impressive for the budget they had. You must have been watching the original Battlestar Galactica. That's the only explanation for that immense disconnect from reality I'm seeing. Man, you guys are one butthurtable group. Thanks for being so levelheaded about the whole damn thing. I think Rick got overly butthurt by the butthurt responses. And yes Rick clearly wasn't watching the new series and if he was he must have been high or something.

And FYI, According to Jim was one of my favorite sitcoms (second to the Bundy's!) so it just goes to show we all have different tastes.
You just lost 5,000,000 points in this debate for that comment. Putting Jim anywhere near Married is an insult to everyone, including kittens.

Holy hell the government shouldn't have a say in what I drink, nor should they require me to purchase bags.
That shit wouldn't fly in Tennessee, and for that I'm grateful.
Never say we can't find common ground on something, because I couldn't agree with you more on this topic. It doesn't start or stop at 20oz drinks with Bloomberg, remember the switch in frying oils every single fast food restaurant in the country made a couple of years ago? That was Nanny Bloomberg. Add salt, smoking in public, and mandatory calorie labeling to the list. Even if you agree with some of those where does it end?

had a couple of hours to kill this morning so I fired up Wings to continue the campaign. got all set to play when the game started updating and then it said it needed to reconfigure the game files, which proceeded to kill about 90 minutes with what appeared to be a massive download I went through this too, only to then find out that my battlenet account has been hacked. I haven't had the time or patience to deal with Blizzard on getting it fixed.

Not at all.. just that I keep an open mind when watching these shows that more than anything, they are meant to entertain audiences. Sometimes you have to go a little farther because if you base everything as it would be in real life, it'd probably make for a pretty boring and slow show.
Even in the walking dead thread people bring up how it's "not realistic" (since when is a zombie realistic?!) of course it's not, it's fiction.
Since I don't mind it being "unrealistic" since it serves as entertainment, makes watching all the more enjoyable.
I love unrealistic. However, I hate badly written. Im in this camp too. I tried to like The Following, but everytime the writers write the bad guys into a corner, they just make shit up to get them out of it. The whole SWAT Team replacement and the girl sheriff were the final nail in the coffin for me. It's just sloppy writing. I don't mind curves in storylines, but they at least need to make sense.

I think it is fairer to say that Sony dominated last gen, but this gen not so much. Lifetime sales numbers from wiki: PS2 - 155 million Xbox - 24 million PS3 - 77 million (estimate since Sony hasn't been reporting numbers) 360 - 76 million Sony will probably add on more to the PS3 total as I see MS doing the same thing with the 360 as they did with the Xbox. of course, the more important lesson from last gen is: Nintendo made bitches out of both of them Has Microsoft ever released the number of units that died because of the RRoD fiasco. I wonder what that does to the total number of units sold?

That's only the theatrical cut though...easy to get that one out quickly and make some money. They're holding off on the extended edition until sometime in the winter holiday season.
Extending that movie even more than the theatrical release will make it way too long. They will have to include even more stuff that never actually happens in the book. I mean what the heck will we see, Tom Bombadil fondling Goldberry?

Gaming / Portable Gaming & Apps / Re: [3DS] Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate
|

Just played the demo on the 3DS. It's definitely promising. It feels like a mix between all three kinds of Castlevanias: The first, linear ones, the Metroidvanias, and Lords of Shadow. It's mostly the latter, and the combat is very recognizable from that. The demo is somewhat short, but contains two different boss battles anyway. The graphics are good, with deep 3D and a castle design that definitely resembles Lords of Shadow's. It's a bit strange fighting as in LoS when on a 2D plane, since the enemies can take a lot more damage than what you'd expect from a 2D Castlevania, which requires a slower pace and more thought. There's leveling involved, but it doesn't seem to offer you any choice in what abilities you unlock, at least not in the demo. Looking forward to reviews for this.
I wish this was on the Vita instead. But I will still probably play it on the 3DS. The Vita just seems like it can handle this type of game better.

If they really were committed to their agenda of destruction, they should spend all their defense budget on mmo development featuring horrific level and item grinds, and turn the youth of SK into a nation of mmo zombie addicts. They don't need to resort to violence and bravado. MMOs should be their weapon of mass destruction.
Judging by the quality of their missile attack video that would be one REALLY bad MMO. Worse than WarZ bad.

I wonder if the writers had intended on Andrea's character being as hated as she's become. She really is an annoying character who seems unreasonably naive and clueless. Not only that, but she has seen things in Woodbury that would have made most people either run for the hills, or organize an overthrow if they had the means.
I've heard that the comic version of Andrea is very different...that she's a badass.
In the comics Andrea is the best sharpshooter of the gang and pretty much all around likable. In the TV show everyone seems to have developed more enhanced shooting skills. I still have high hopes for Andrea to get over her fascination with the governor's giant schlong and get back to shooting bad guys; I see what the writers were trying to do but they pretty much blew it with this plotline. Seriously though you can't blame her too much, there's pretty slim pickings in good looking men and girlfriend is clearly horny. Rick is still by far the hottest guy but he's a lunatic and it's questionable how good he is in bed. I guess she could always do that nerd guy but the gov is way sexier. Rittchard you are one horny dude.

This game really is what will finally make me get a WiiU. My son (7) is really into Mario, but I couldn't justify the purchase for that alone at this point. Now with Lego City he will at least have two games that I know he will like. He loves Lego Batman, Indiana Jones, etc, so City is a no brainer for him.
