I ended up buying the Final Fantasy X/X2 HD remake for PS4 on Sunday.  The HD version looked good on PS3...it looks stunning on PS4.  The character models and movements are still a bit janky, but the refreshed environments are incredible.

Too bad they didn't change the characters or the story with this latest version.

Again, the left's method to label anyone who disagrees with them as someone full of hate is effective, but that doesn't mean it's true. I am none of those things.

Yeah, I basically zoned out playing Rocket League for a few hours last night. The time slips away in season mode, that's for sure.

Edit: On review, and an 11-match losing streak, I hate this f'ing game.

Adjust the difficulty down to Rookie. I had to do this and it made the games much more winnable.
9  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Playstation Plus - Now with lots more free games! on: July 08, 2015, 01:41:18 PM
I knew nothing about Rocket League prior to playing it this morning and I must say I really had fun with it. Granted I only played the tutorial and three season matches, but this game has fun written all over it. I'm betting that the online play is even better.

Also, this is the first month in a long time where I haven't already owned most of the games, so bonus points to Sony for that. Styx looks promising and GW3 will no doubt be a blast.
10  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Telltale & Minecraft on: July 06, 2015, 02:47:11 PM
I'm one of those people who just does not get Minecraft. Maybe I'm too old, I don't know what it is, but I just don't see the appeal of that game. So with that said this game will have to get really stellar review for me to pick it up. This is coming from someone who hasn't missed a TT game in years.

OK, I need some help or else I'm afraid I won't get any further into the game. I just finished the prologue.

First, let me say that I haven't played the other Dragon Age games. I'm thinking of going back and starting over after doing the thing on the Dragon Age website where you can import the world thingy.

However, my biggest issue is with combat. I watched the tutorial in the prologue about pausing during combat and issuing orders. I also have tried real time. Both ways, I'm getting dusted during combat. I can kill a damn thing. I did some online reading where folks are complaining it's way too easy. Therefore, I'm thinking I'm doing something wrong.

Can anyone give me a short guide on how to approach combat? Pause and give orders or real time.

My character I started with is a rogue, not sure if that matters.

Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Real Time is easier. I only really used pause during boss battles. One hint that may help is that you don't have to use the main character as your controlled person, if your main is an up close fighter consider switching to a ranged character and just attacking from afar while staying out of danger. The CPU does a good job of handling the other characters, especially at close range. This will let you see the action better and it will keep your controlled character out of trouble, all while they deal out big damage.

At first I thought this was an actual RARE game which made me depressed because I assumed it would only be on the bone, but after reading up on it I'm glad that it will be multiplatform. Hopefully it allows the devs to go back to their glory days of platforming. You know, before Microsoft ruined them.

ATB must have confused his Golden Girls rerun for the Star Wars trailer again.  It's ok, these things sometimes happen as you get older.  :p

I'm honestly a little bit worried about ATB at this point in the week. First we get that horrible dog/decapitation picture in the funny thread (Which I can look past) but now we get a "meh" on the trailer? Where there's smoke there's fire, I think he may have some sort of brain damage that's affecting his judgment.

It's a parody of Islamic extremism where making fun of Mohammed is met with executions.

The man in the red t-shirt is likely Alan Henning (it's the closest match I can find), and that decapitation occurred in 2014. Alan was a volunteer humanitarian aid worker, (I'd rather give a face to the victims than to remember the villains).

The `funny` is likely in reference to the multiple violent acts including:

and the most recent attack on a European magazine:

30  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: on: March 27, 2015, 06:18:56 PM
The collision detection is pretty solid in this game so if you roll straight at a bad guy you will get stuck in front of them. Try rolling away or just to the right or left.
31  Gaming / Portable Gaming & Apps / Re: PS Vita Impressions! Price drop! Casual Edition! Vita TV! on: March 27, 2015, 01:54:52 PM
As for the integration with the PS4 there aren't a lot of games that use it as a pure second screen (ie to display maps, inventory, etc.). BUT every single PS4 game can be played through the Vita's remote play feature. So if your tv is being used for something else you can always play your PS4 games through the Vita.

Also I have a post above about the Vita 2.0 vs Vita 1.0 up above and honestly both are good systems. I would say go with which ever one you can get a better deal on. 1.0 has a slightly better screen, but 2.0 has a much longer battery life and it is lighter so it feels better in your hands.

So, they kind of have a suspend mode in now? However, looks like they limited it to only when the system isn't being used further?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. This is a full suspend mode from what I understand. The limitations are probably only going to be related to online-only titles.

Yeah I don't get what he means either. The PS4 has always had a suspend mode when the PS4 was still left on. You could hit the PS button go back to your main screen and watch youtube or surf the PSN store and then go right back to your game. The difference now is that you can actually put the PS4 in sleep mode and then turn it back on and be right back where you left your game. In other words it doesn't close your programs when you go into sleep mode now.

I'm going to go on the record and say that suspend mode is awesome. You can literally turn your PS4 on and be back in your game within 10 seconds.

Father G gave me some trouble in his 3rd phase, mostly that if he hit me once I was pretty much dead.  The first 2 phases I never really had a problem with.  BSB was a similar deal, and I beat my head against him for over an hour before going exploring and eventually finding some armor with resists that allowed me to take him out.   So far you seem always able to go in at least two directions and choose from 2 different bosses at a time.  Before I take on my fourth boss though I'm off to farm so I can buy this sweet new trick weapon I just unlocked at the store for 20k.
The first time I tried the priest I was lvl 17 and I got him half way down. The second time I was 20 and I had the hunter armor.

I pre-ordered it. If you haven't played any of the previous games then you are in for a treat, oh and get ready to die. The series is difficult but not cheap. If you die it's usually your fault, caution and a willingness to save often is necessary.
