I bought a new machine and just bought SHIV. I thought it would be a fun game but I am a little stuck as I started a tutorial/training mission and it just sticks you in the water without much direction. I have skimmed the manual but I haven't had time to really try to figure it out. I might be interested in the expansion if I could get interested in the original. Have any tips?

I snagged this last night and got a little time in on MP. Good Looking game! Much better with mouse and keyboard than when I tried to play it on the 360 which only left me frustrated. I plan on spending some time with this one assuming I find better servers to play on than the one last night. It was a goddam grenade fest. I hear HC is the way to go. Looking forward to playing with others in MP. Loving the M16!

Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Coming to Washington DC and New York City in May - Suggestions?

DC United is in town May 24. Do yourself a favor and go. It's, by far, the best sporting event experience and atmosphere in DC.
I just spent last week replacing all of the banners, light boxes, and vinyl decals at RFK stadium and then stuck around for the match Saturday night. It WAS a lot of fun AND a disaster project. A disaster project? How so? I work for a full service sign company in the sales department. This job had another out of town company print everything and ship it down all at the last minute. A lot of stuff didn't match sizewise and some of the light panels were cut in half to get shipped overnight which made it hard to install. Everything arrived 6 hours late both days and one piece was missing. We got the whole stadium rigged up in three long days finishing at 4:30PM Saturday on opening night. All in all, it was a fun experience since I usually don't do much hands on time and the ridiculously huge banners in there look awesome. Capping it off with some tailgating and watching game made a nice close for the project. /Back on topic I think the Jefferson Memorial and Arlington Cemetery are the two must see things in the Mall area. I live by Old Town Alexandria and have a good time hanging out down there. The Fish Market is a pretty yummy place to eat and is not incredibly expensive. HUGE east coast oysters are served there and are incredibly awesome. In fact, I may go there tonight. Tall beers and oysters = good combo!

I am pretty sure I will pick this up the day it is available. Is anyone interested in running through the the campaign with me? I never completed the campaign for the first one although I think I played most of the missions co-op which would was fun. Let me know schedule and availability!
EDIT, I just found out my folks are visiting this week (Thurs-Mon) so I guess I am OUT until next week. Still would be interested in doing a run through co-op.

I ended up picking this up last night as well. I was a little hesitant at first from some of the early reviews but as I am playing baseball again in the DC Old Fart league.... I thought, "What the hell." I traded HL2 Orange Box and CoD4 for it as CoD4 on the console INFURIATES me! I pretty much have the same feelings as Ken, as the pitching and fielding are really neat and fairly intuitive but there is a definite learning curve. the graphics are hit and miss. I kind of was expecting more. The game seems to be put together well but still needs polish. I guess that's what '09 is for. I don't get batting hardly at all. For a regular swing, the instructions claim you pull back on the RS and then release. Sometimes, my batter won't swing, he will just stand there. For a power swing, you pull back and then push forward. the batter will swing everytime you perform this. I can't quite figure out if it is supposed to be a quick swing, smooth swing, or something else. There is a home run derby option but it really doesn't do batting justice as I wish there was strictly a "batting practice" option. I played a game at default level and the Cards got their asses handed to them 9-1 by the Nationals. I am warming up to this game and really hope a few others pick this up. An on line league would be pretty fun.

I finished the second episode since I had it started. It is still a fun show although I can tell they are going to throw everything at it they can to draw it out. Considering it is on right after the only other show I watch (American Gladiators!) I'll stick with it. I'd like to support a show like this instead of some other lawyer/doctor/cop show. I do predict at least one groan inducing moment per episode and I will immediately stop watching the second there is man/robot love!

Dammit. It started out as a fun show (read not great but fun) and a half hour in the second episode, it just took a big huge shit. Where John goes after doing a little Googling is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. There is no way this guy is the savior of humanity. No wonder we burn up. I'm done.

I played a little Infernal on Gametap a few days ago. The graphics are pretty crisp and clear and the game ran extremely smooth all cranked on my moderate system. I believe it uses the same engine as Ghostbusters.

The trailer makes it look like they did a good job of capturing the cartoon and making it live action. I wasn't a huge fan but generally did watch Speed Racer when it occasionally came on when I was a kid. The Mach 5 better have some saw blades! I will certainly rent this when it is out on DVD.
Also, An I'76 type game of Speed Racer would be awesome!

IPTV Functionality - support for TiVo like PVR options. Will be able to record TV direct. Options include source by channel, director, actor and distributor
How would it record live TV since there is no source input on the console? Can the 360 cables go from blow to suck or something?
