41  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Steam and Friends List on: June 13, 2009, 03:45:28 PM
Ok, Steam is pissing me off.  I have been badgering a couple of people to join steam and add me to their friend list for some of the more casual games.  I launched Plants vs. Zombies this morning and a request popped up for an "add" request and I accidentally hit "ignore."  I spent an hour trying to finding the the fucking ignore options to try to correct the problem.  Anyone know how to un-ignore someone on Steam?  It appears impssobile.
42  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Re: LF BF2142 on: May 29, 2009, 02:32:35 PM
I was just trying to get back into 2142.  I bought a new widescreen monitor and they won't play nicely.  Running vista - made the tweak to the shortcut - and removed the cache files in "my Documents."  If I can get it to work, I'll play but hopes are not high!

That was a fun little game.  I think I was able to get through it in less than an hour and wish there was more.
44  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: The Steam weekend deal: Orange Box for $9.99 on: April 25, 2009, 05:55:33 AM
Well, I had to pull the trigger.  I didn't have episode 1 or 2 or TF2, plus I ran through Portal on the 360 so it will be nice to have these.  I recieved HL2 as a gift about a month ago sooooo, anyone want HL2?
45  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: City of Heroes Architect Edition Question on: April 21, 2009, 04:15:10 PM
Cool!  Thanks for the explanation.  I kind of assumed everything is intact regardless of the version but I wanted to make sure I didn't want to send folks out to buy the wrong version.  I can certainly live w/o a couple of costumes although for the additional $5 for the latest install and a couple of extra goodies.

I haven't checked the rest of this thread but is anyone still active?
46  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / City of Heroes Architect Edition Question on: April 21, 2009, 02:06:24 PM
Well,  I haven't COH'd for years but kind of got the urge to jump back in as roped in a few co-workers to play as well.  I have COH/COV keys registered to my account at NCSoft.  Do I have to buy the City of Heores Architect Edition to have all of the current content or is that stuff all included with COH/COV?  If my co-workers purchase the $10 COH/COV version, will they be up to date as well?  Anything else we need to know as well?

Highly disappointing so far.  It's basically like any other stupid Facebook game.  I hope it gets better but it's generally a little fun to get in on these at the beginning.

IN!

I played the orange box a little on the 360 but hated the controls and sent it back.  Interested!

57  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Register your retail copy of Unreal Tournament 3 on Steam - coolness! on: March 09, 2009, 06:21:18 PM
I bought it on an impulse Saturday morning for the Steam sale and it finally finished downloading 5 minutes before walking out of the house for the Sunday dinner group I am a part of.  I haven't had time to play it yet although I did spend some time reading reviews while hoping the d/l would kick in.  So far, I regret the purchase.
58  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Which old PC Game Developer would you bring back? on: March 09, 2009, 06:18:17 PM
I have to back Origin as well.  Except for Wing Commander: Armada (it was poo!), they always put out great games.  I am pretty sure I have played them all and was never hesitant to purchase anything from them.  I never got far into Bioforge and regret it as now I don't have the disk, nor do I want to take the time to fiddle with DOSBox.  An Origin Compilation package allowing everything to run in VISTA/XP would rule.  I'd pay top dollar.
59  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Quake Live Open Beta on: February 27, 2009, 01:33:44 PM
I used to play a lot of Quake 3 back in the day and while I am finding I am horrible at Q3Live, it is still pretty fun.  I wouldn't pay for the service but I will certainly play for free.
60  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: [Circuit City liquidation]All PC games 30% off on: February 11, 2009, 02:46:44 PM
I stopped by the local CC here to browse the wares.  They had a lot of games left for PC and a decent selection of 360 games.  Everything is marked 30% off but everything is extremely retail.  I did see AoEIII gold but it was marked $49.99,  Diablo Warchest was $29.99, and a lot of other shovelware was $29.99.  Still not a great deal on PC.  I was tempted to pick up The Witcher (original version) as it was marked $20 after discount but then I remembered I have a billion other games to play.

65  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Budweiser: King of Beers or Cow Pee in a Bottle? on: January 27, 2009, 03:58:45 PM
I was going to come in here and defend Budweiser, not that it tastes great, but is what I am accustomed to and enjoy almost daily and just encountered a rude awakening.  I lived a couple of miles from the brewery and STL is just a Budweiser town.  I then started doing the math on how many Bud's I consumed.  I used to be more of a snob back in the college days and ended up not caring, especially after the local hangout right next to work and home exclusively sold AB products only and next to nothing.  I probably had 6-15 beers 4 or 5 nights a week for several years and still drink 3 nights a week.

10 beers a night for 4 nights a week for 250 weeks (roughly 5 years) is 10,000 Budweisers.  At $3 a pop (majority were purchased at bars) is $30,000.  I have drank a whole new car!

My friends and I must have kept Rosie's open for years with just our patronage.

I am supposed to go play dodgeball tonight followed by drinking and talking with the ladies at the league bar followed by our kickball HH marathon that falls on Thursday this week and of course would go out for a bit on Friday and stupid Super Bowl on Sunday.

I may have to quit drinking.

67  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Re: 20gig 360 HDD on: November 26, 2008, 02:54:16 PM
I have a coworker that is trying to join the 360 revolution and was going through his stash to try to trade for your HDD (and doesn't have the games you had listed.)  He doesn't have much CASHMONIEZ and was hoping to buy the arcade version of the console and work on the HDD later.  He is not a member of GT but I can say it would go to a good home.  I'll be glad to cover the transaction, shipping or if you want some dinero as well.  If you would rather keep it directly in the the GT family, I can understand that as well.   Let me know!

I concur with most of the content on everyone's lists.  Unless I missed it, where's the love for Tron and Discs of Tron?  Both are awesome.

A personal fav of mine that got pretty tough after a few levels.  LOVED the music!
