I am HOOKED on Pinball FX2. I snagged Zen pinball a bit back for PS3 and it didn't really win me over as well as the original Pinball FX. The new Marvel tables are great as well as the new FX2 ones. I haven't played them enough to have a favorite but I know I'll put some time in. If you posted in this forum, you should have a Gamertag invite from me. = r00b BC

Depends on where you are working. I moved to NoVA a little over three years ago from Saint Louis and did all of the apartment shopping online. Fortunately, I knew ONE person in the area and helped greatly. Housing can be quite expensive, and thee are a lot of places you DON'T want to live. Provide a little more info and I may be able to help.

I still use IE on the netbook. Netflix runs like balls in Chrome. Gog.com has gotten a few more purchases out of me as UT GOTY edition, Freespace and Divine Divinity all rule on the Netbook. I installed Openoffice as I was just too lazy to attach an optical drive for Office and am really liking it. Definitely stuck mIrc on for a little #gg. Don't really need anything else.

“We’ve heard that 60 per cent of [Microsoft’s] subscribers are principally on Live because of Call Of Duty,” Kotick said. Replace "CoD" with "Netflix" and I believe that would be a true statement.

That's bummer news. I really haven't played the SP campaign. I am not one to continually replay the same level over and over again because of lame AI, ESPECIALLY if I have to re-wait for the loading screen. I traded swag in for this but it's sounding like I should have done more research. OTOH, I truly enjoy LBP. It's gotten the most play out of me over any console game besides Links for the original Xbox. I was hoping MNR would have been the same.

Anyone still playing this? I just picked it up with some store credit. Add r00b_BC to your list and I will be up for some playing. It seems like this game should have more legs than it appears here at GT.

Get a cast iron grill pan. It will keep the meat out of the grease and you can also use it in the oven. They are like $20 on Amazon and while it doesn't replace a grill it is probably the best thing you can do in your situation. The benefit, you can get it super hot and it won't destroy the pan to be able to sear. Also, America's Test Kitchen will answer any question you can think of pertaining to pots/pans/utensils/cooking methods. They are the Consumer Reports of the food world. Their books are great.

I haven't had time since the purchase to play. I plan to get some time in with it this weekend. I am not familiar with all-star mode. I must investigate. I AM pleased wiht how easy it is to jump in MP games. Too bad you can't have a "driver cam" to watch while in the lobby waiting for a race to finish although they did at least include a progress bar to indicate how long you will be waiting. I am getting the vibe here that there doesn't seem to be much interest at GT or the tools in #gg for this game. MORE PEOPLE BUY NOW.

I had to pick this up. I haven't karted since Super Mario Kart so I don't have much to compare it to. It seems to be quite polished although I don't feel very intimate with it since I know about 3 of the Sega characters. It'll do 8 player multi and seems like it has a lot of maps and stuff to unlock. The key is to figure out the drift points as it produces boost. There is quite a variety of weapons that are available as well when you hit the power doodad. Add me to your buddy list! r00b_BC kthx.

I've gotten a bit bored through my BG1 rerun...not sure I'll complete it or start a Bg2 character instead.
The game is very hard, and very vague on what you should do next...I think I've gotten used to getting my hand held while spoon fed the information I need over the years...
I may use gatekeeper and just HAX my character. I am a simple man and hate challenges.

A new version of the mod pack is coming out in the next few days (Big World Setup 8.3). So I'm waiting until then.
Please post when it is done. I would be interested in seeing if I could get this all together on my netbook or something. I believe 8.3 is out as of this week. I believe it is the one I installed. It was super easy but took several hours between installing the games AND the Big World mod thingy.

OK,
Got this installed over the course of a couple of evenings. Installed with the standard version which added a bunch of mods as well as BG Trilogy. I have no clue what the additional mods do or which ones I accepted. I guess I'll find out as I start BG AGAIN. What are the odds I actually finish it THIS TIME? That's right, slim to none.

You sure you really want a laptop? You could get way more power out of a PC for the same money. What is the reason for going with a lappy?
More taxpayer money available!

I had to snag AvP classic 2000 for the $5. The graphics are definately from that era but still seem to hold up as I am still too much of a wuss to play in long runs. It is still one of the most scariest games I have ever played. The sounds and atmosphere are still incredible and yes, a very difficult game. It does run at my desktop resolution of 1920x1080. It doesn't support MP (yet.). Definately worth the purchase.

Ug. I moved to DC from Saint Louis. While DC is pretty cool, there are a couple of things I flat out miss from STL, this being one of them. http://www.maull.com/I need to have someone send me a few bottles of Maull's. I am not claiming it is the best BBQ sauce ever but have been slathering it over STL style pork steaks for 30 years. I do have to recommend if you pass through STL, pick up a bottle. "Don't baste your barbecue, MAULL IT!" Edit: HOLYSH!T! On-line ordering! What will the internet think of next?

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Baldur's Gate Trilogy mod, ANYONE?
|
on: June 19, 2009, 05:57:46 PM

I have been thinking of the unthinkable. A run through BG1 and BG2 BACK TO BACK. While I understand this challenge may take years, possibly a decade, the only thing that has kept me starting the en devour is the REALLY crappy graphics of BG1. I have been aware of the Tutu mod and have heard of great disasters late in the game which is enough to scare me away from it. I happened across the Baldur's Gate Trilogy mod and it sounds badass. It seems to effortlessly put the BG1 game data into the BG2 engine as well as the other enhancements introduced into BG2. It also bridges the gap between BG1 and 2 story wise as well as a few other features. I searched the PC game forums and saw no threads about BGT. Has anyone used it and is it reliable? http://www.spellholdstudios.net/readme/BGTReadme.htmEDIT: Heh, I just saw this thread that links to the same site. THANKS
