I just realized why I initially posted this thread - I did not have an issue with the danger close perk. Heck  - anyone who every plays with me knows that I love me some dangerclose with my Javelin....... ninja

What I wanted to stress was that the One Man Army perk allowed the refill of ammo. I thought it was only to allow you to switch loadouts during the game. BUT when you selected a previous loadout that was already devoid of ammo that it would remain there.

There I said it.

Thanks,

Not sure if this is new at all - but I came across the following video on a 'one man army' IMBALANCE via Blue's.

http://beforeitsnews.com/story/11848/Modern_Warfare_2_God_Mode_Video.html

I hope to god that I never encounter this. I am not normally a complainer (probably because I am not good enough) but I will most definitely rage quit should the happen to me on any given map.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

The X31s are very good and probably provide as much as most people require, and seem to be much louder than the 41s.  The 41s, however, are slightly more comfortable, and can also be used for TV.  [/quote]

I can also use my X31s for TV / DVD - I use the audio out ports on my TV. thumbsup

I've heard mixed info on whether the 360 pumps 5.1 out of the HDMI.  I know my TV doesn't output any kind of surround sound just stereo. I don't have any other kind of HDMI receiver in the house to test my 360.

You'd know if you have surround sound in your headphones or not, I suppose. smile

the X31s do not have the surround sound option- that is only on the x41s - they have 7.1 or something crazy like that.

Nonna - Apart from the faulty chat cable - I am securing it to the headset with an elastic band  Roll Eyes - and they are sending me a new cable in late Jan. They confirmed via email to me that they got a bad batch of cables that do not sit properly in the female connectors.

But having said that - I really really like them. I can hear all sorts of stuff that my TV or surround setup was not able to reproduce. Favela for instance has tons of chatter in the background from cars honking to dogs barking and kids playing - pretty neat. Add to that the ability to play late into the night without bothering anyone and it is a great product.

I also have a wireless setup - in fact my Xbox is also using the wireless adapter - I have zero issues. I have the receiver set to the other side of the fireplace mantle just in case. My wireless router is about 10 feet away and one floor below in the basement - essentially right below the fireplace.

I will say that when I use my headset with the wireless wheel that you just got I have some 'hiss' feedback - not a deal breaker by any means.

+1 on the battery sucking component - there is no way that the batteries last for up to 20hrs of gaming. I may get 8-10hrs if that so I always have an extra set of AAAs charging.

Just like your decision with the wheel you will not be disapointed. Easy setup and very comfy on the melon too.

There are also a ton of threads out there (including a few posts above) that talk about the HDMI cable setup also requiring you to use the AV cable for the audio pass through AND also hacking the cable plug as it blocks the HDMI port. TOTAL BS - I have my Xbox connected via HDMI to the TV and use the 'audio out' jacks on the TV to connect the audio pass through cables to. Assuming of course that your TV has audio out smile

So, I blew out my engine for the first time tonight, on Maple Valley full circuit in my Focus. I'm not entirely sure, but I think what happened was that near the beginning, when you go over some short bumps, my car was nailing the red while it was in the air.

So my question is, does the amount of redline you get change when you changed the gear ratios, or is it set by car and you just have to know to shift up earlier so you don't screw your car in those bumps?

Admittedly I am still pretty new to the game - but yesterday Hark, Kato and I were racing on an oval with the Mercedes 300sl? (the old gull wing model) and we ran 6 laps in the red. And I mean constant red - 7000rpm and no one blew an engine.

Weird.

So I picked the X31s up last night and already have problems.....

No one can hear me chat. They can all hear their own voices being echoed. (Sorry Hark / Otter for last night)

So I contact Turtle Beach today and they are sending out a new chat cable the 1st week in Jan. Great turnaround.
And of course I look at the support forums adn they are rife with complaints.  mad

Game sounds are great though - I can hear more that my TV is able to produce.

Like I said, I don't know how this is happening, but word on the street is that it's an exploit - created by modders - that can be "passed" around anyone and everyone who plays against them, as it sticks in their 360's cache. Only, instead of corrupting data, it blows up MW2 maps.

To get rid of the glitch, you'll have to disconnect from Live and reboot your 360.

Grrrreat - if this is to be believed / vetted in any way does this mean that a future exploitation including viri and their ilk can move to our home networks etc etc if we are using the media extender option? Not trying to be a fear monger by any means - but even to read/suggest that this is a 'possibility' is very dis-heartening.  crybaby

Expensive? Sure - but it is more than the bang for your buck.

Agreed - he is not even close to learning that stuff just yet and I would certainly watch him for this type of 'glitching'. I hated the elevator glitches in COD: WaW - frustrated me to no end. And I made sure that he did not use it.

Ditto for OtterChaos and I'm almost always on the bottom of the score table, I think my k/d is something like .33 so easy points if I'm on the other side.

Exactly my thoughts the other day. I was 'fortunate' enough on Sunday night to have joined the party but there were no spots left on Harks list so I was punted to the other team. I think you and I were both on the 'bad guys' team and we were handed a beating match after match. My KD plummeted from the kelvin scale of .69 to .65 at the end.... crybaby

It was actually kind of commical to hear our team complain about the kills they were subjected to and we had to reinforce the point that they were not cheating - they were just really really really good. I actually remember a mass exodus of players off the list after once match.

Ah good times. But lesson learned - I will never again be on the other team against this crew - too bruising for my online ego  icon_lol

I must admit that I did not expect some of the vitriol in a few of the posts either. I posted this out of sheer humour (Canadian spelling) factor.

Vitriol?  Expressing concern over a son's behavior involving "cheating" in a game (your word, not mine), regardless of whether you were being facetious, and being met with opinions on personal character is not "vitriol."  You called your son's behavior "cheating."  We responded in kind.

Sure he is artificially raising his rank- but he is not hurting / illegally modifying anything or anyone and at the end of the day he is not out to cheat anyone but himself. He knows that it is a game and that there is certainly no gains outside of getting new weapons that will make him a better human etc etc. Come on get a grip.(sheesh)

He knows the difference between right and wrong as it applies to REAL LIFE but this is a game in which there are no significant gains as mentioned above infact he is the most sensitive individual when considering other peoples feelings outside of me that I know.

PS I am leaving out his age just in case the high and mighty want to jump on me for that too. Rest assured that I was present to ensure that he skipped the airport scene. I did explain what it was and also mentioned that it was not something that he needed to see.

He's your son, not ours, and you have a far better understanding of his maturation and growth.  Raise him as you see fit, and if his actions online are not considered by you to be questionable or in poor form, that's your call.  But to equate opinions on character with "vitriol" is a bit thin-skinned.  Ultimately you determine where your son stands on character.  But your initial example, whether it be in jest or not, certainly isn't an ideal representation.

EDIT:  That probably sounded harsher than it was intended.  I'm not upset about the topic or with your son in general.  I merely took your initial post as being serious in intent rather than in jest, and I worry about setting precedents about cheating and dishonesty, regardless of how minor.  You know your son and the upbringing he has had, and perhaps disciplining his actions would be a bit much.

Mountain out of a molehill and all that.  Best of luck trying to catch up to his prestige level.   icon_wink

Are you sure the 5000 wasn't just from completing a one-time challenge?  I know there's one for absorbing a certain amount with a riot shield, which sounds more likely than a straight 5k every 3 minutes.

Yeah, that's what I figured, but if you search for "riot shield boosting" on google, it is very popular and it says you can get 30-50K very quickly. I'm not quite clear - do you just get regular bonuses for deflecting bullets?

Apologies - it was only one instance of 5k you are correct. However after that it was a pretty steady climb in terms of increments by the tens every second or so. It did amount to a lot at the end of the day.

I recently discovered that my son is a cheater in MW2  crybaby

How does he cheat you ask? Well back in COD4 days he would specifically search out other players in cage matches who were only interested in 'head shot' type games so that they could both just stand there and increase their stats.
Easy enough to do back in COD4.

But I had heard that they eliminated this type of staged 2 player matches in the latest incarnation......

Well he and a friend on Live figured out a way to make their cage matches work and are raking up the points! finger

Example - they are playing a match yesterday and his friend adds the turret to his kill streak and my son dons the riot shield and stands in front of the turret and I watch gobsmacked as the points start rolling in - upwards of 5000pts in the space of 3mins. He is getting points for deflecting 50k + rounds.

I am a sad dad today  eek

Here he is a level 49 while I am struggling at level 39 or so.

Granted - he is a darn good multiplayer. But come on already  Roll Eyes
