I do find it humorous the number of times Romy is on a roof and the number of times you can hit Dan and Romy with one bullet due to their attachment at the hips. lol

You can kill us with your bullets. But you'll never kill our love!

Dan: " Hey Romy I like what you have going on up here. Great spot for sniping " nod

That was effing ridiculous last night for a couple of matches.  Talk about rolling thunder batman. You guys just kept coming and coming – Bradley (Nonna, Hark) /tank (Nonna,Hark,Pug) /UAV (kato, M4ck3r) / chopper (pug).
If memory serves it was something like this in terms of teams:

Harkonis
Damage
Kato
Nonnahob
M4ck3r
Owain
Wonderpug

Vs:
ArchDan
RomyBolognaPony
Useless twat #1
Useless twat #2
Useless twat #3
Useless twat #4
Useless twat #5
Useless twat #6
Useless twat #7

Now I know what it must feel like to be a soldier on a vastly overpowered force ! Very demoralizing and frustrating to say the least.

Yes you guys did send out invite – and they did mean something to Dan and I. But we wanted to not come across like quitters in some weird way – hope that makes sense.
Like I said last night - Dan and I are like peas and carrots. We spawn together and camp together ( I mean get stuck behind rocks and such)
Still was fun – but I almost Nonnahob rage quit once maybe twice.

yup. If memory serves the last update killed the 3rd party memory card options that were out there.
Up here in Canada they run about 40 bucks - http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/xbox-360-512mb-memory/10086830.aspx?path=6f79c07243a18b53ce6360c3ac031567en02

I am pretty sure that mine is only 64mb - so that should be cheaper.

I have to thank you guys. I really do.
After the 1st weekend I was really regretting buying this game – I am weak when it comes to the forum effect at times and felt that this time the effect pulled one over on me.
I did not like the controls – could not get up the stairs at times. Did not understand the whole squad based idea (I was constantly by myself on ‘Rush’ maps and had to run 10miles in order to get back into the action.  Roll Eyes
The guns in my assault class took much effort to get used to.

But now after much time and practice I am really enjoying the MP elements. Playing with the GT group is %110 the reason. We have fun – make fun (of Dan) and play as a squad at the best of times.
I do wish that there were map options though – all the good roofs on the snow level are now known about. ninja
I love love love the AN94 with acog and grip – reminds me of the G3 in MW1 and the Gewhr in W@W.
I have maxed out the assault class  and am afraid of moving onto another class – I loathe the default gun load out for the engineer.

Overall I am happy that I stuck it out.

Ha! This was my first challenge too.

Spoiler for Hiden:
Have the hellhound light it on fire and leave it right in front of his cage. Then go back to 'burning man' and hop back up ontop and jump on the hanging platform and ride it all the way down. You will see the gate above the hellhound rise. Once you stop moving on the platform run back as quick as you can to the cart of embers and use the thermal updraft to allow you to soar up above and and trigger the lever. That unleashes the hellhound fight him and ride him and kill everything - including the burning man  icon_twisted Get the bow and arrow thingy. look for secrets........

If it were the US version I could have got an integrated TV tuner  icon_cry

So I am now thinking about an External TV tuner option to use in conjunction with Win7 Ultimate and Windows Media Ctr.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should look for - specific product etc etc.

Newegg has this: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815100035 but do I limit myself when using USB - or should I look for a 'truly' external box option. Or what about PCMCIA option?

I plan on using the laptops HDMI out to connect to the TV in the bedroom for pre-recorded shows etc etc.

Thanks in advance,

AVI doesn't determine which codec; there are multiple file types that label as .AVI.

Try viewing them in Media Center on the Xbox and see how many you have. WMC allows certain files that "My Videos" does not.

I believe that you hit the nail on the head. It must be codecs that are the challenge.

Weird scenario.

I stream music and video to my TVs via the 360. I have 88 videos in my 'video' folder but when I browse from the xbox there are only 82 listed?
I assume that when I place a video in the directory that it takes on the permissions set by the folder?

I have stopped and restarted the sharing process many times and still nothing.

Thoughts?

First time with the Battlefield genre and I think I like it so far.
Server issues aside I did enjoy my brief hour or two last night and even got promoted to level 1 !
Things that will take getting used to: Snipers Snipers Snipers (ok- recon) but you get the drift. One map I was on has 2-3 of them at a time all hanging out behind us at all times – they would obviously chose to spawn back with their buddies.
I managed to kill them all more than once – however I did notice that they were – most of the time atleast – outside of the battle zone? I was constantly being told that I was outside the boundries once I got a kill? If I am outside the range than what the heck are they doing there? Add to that the fact that many of the maps are rife with foliage for them to hide in……. ninja

I also learned that I am rubbish without the heartbeat sensor. crybaby  I really hope that there is a perk for this –I did see one for vehicles that I was able to use so I am hopeful. nod

The guns seem pretty cool and the sounds are definitely nice through the Turtle Beach headphones that I use. I do find the ‘walking’ animation on my gun to be a little weird – it looks like I am one of those Olympic speed walkers wiggling my hips.

I also need to train myself to work as a team. I watched a video late last night after playing on Youtube that was posted here earlier that showed me how to ‘marl’ players/objectives with the BACK button. I will surely start to do this.

I did have a few movement issues where I misjudged some stairs etc. And also had some clipping issues when I was running beside little hills/cliffs.

Overall – I will continue to play and see where this title takes me.

Crazy . . . All I can think is that iw was trying to muscle treyarch out of the mix???
Proof that a license to print money doesn't solve everything.

I think it was more of IW being forced to continue to make CoD games and nothing else.  The rumors are that they said no and this is their reward.

I am more apt to think that they are being let go for the amount of glitching / lack of QA on the product over all. The customer base is upset - there have been many an outcry. Activision as part of their role to the shareholders is to make decisions in order to protect the share price - easy enough to understand.

based on the horrible QA and end product delivered - considering the pedigree of this title - I would think that they are more than justified to have let these 2 guys go. They proved that they were unable to take care of the product deliverable post release and have suffered tons of backlash.

As for the statement released to the SEC - that muddies the water a little more. Could this have nothing to do with the product being crap - sure. The 2 guys could have been trying to recruit from the IW team for another spin off business.

But again - I am more apt to think that they were let go based on the quality of the product released and the support post release.

Roman

Does Activison really care about quality though?  If they did would they run franchises to the ground on a yearly cycle?  Not entirely disagreeing with your assessment, just curious what their real purpose was.  MW is a money maker for their shareholders, shitty QA and slow fixes be damned.

perhaps enough was enough? Interesting to debate - I hope we actually find out what the real reasons were.

Teggy - this was on the news here this morning - especially on talk radio that I listen to during my drive into work.

Pretty lame in many people's minds up here in Canada. There is no story here - the journalist who supposedly took the pictures is from NJ and was hanging around the rink to get the US team's reaction to the game.
There was nothing insensitive about the woman's celebration as it was about an hour after the game and the arena was pretty much empty.

The Canadian IOC actually apologized for the team's behaviour. Seriously lame. The women were in no way rubbing it in.

In fact - the majority Canadian audience was chanting USA USA USA when the team was getting their silver medals.

Canada is too damn apologetic and bashful when it comes to boasting and celebrating. Heck even our Prime Minister told the Olympians to stop being so refined and let lose! . Sorry icon_lol

The only thing to be sorry for was that some of them chose to drink Girls Light (Coors) when they should have been drinking Molson Canadian. Also one of the players is only 18 and was drinking - the legal age in Canada is 19 (18 in Quebec).
Still lame.

Played for the first time in months last night.  Jumped into a game with Nonnahob, RomyBolognaPony, and Calvin.  I didn't bother to turn my mic on as rarely do I have much to say outside of cursing and I just wasn't up for much conversation following hours of chem homework and more home renovations.  I just needed a brief distraction/break for a bit and figured MW2 was as good an option as any.  I was surprised to hear Calvin ask who I was as I was sure we've played MP games in the past (Halo 3, maybe Gears of War).

I didn't really do anything noteworthy, playing a little below a 1:1 kill/death ratio, but I attribute that to not having played a videogame outside of 1 vs. 100 for the past few months.  The main issue I ran into was wondering what guns folks were using.  I was killed by either Nonnahob or Romy (can't remember which) when I was moved to the opposing team and each time I watched the killcam I saw what appeared to be no recoil on their weapon whatsoever.  I have yet to find a weapon that doesn't have recoil, and each time I watched the camera it looked like their red dot sight stayed pretty steady.  As my thumbstick aiming isn't always steady, I could really use a weapon with little to no recoil.  LMGs are out for me as I can't keep them steady, I'm not a sniper rifle fan, and SMGs still seem to have quite a bit of recoil.  Only the M4 and the M16 work out best for me.

I'm not sure what gun it was, but I certainly want one.

The only guy I used last night was the AUG (which I was using most of the night) and the ACR. It was one of the two. I don't use SMGs.

Pete - I was using the ACR last night. Love love love that gun and use it 99% of the time. I did use the SCAR too - but would bet dollars to donuts that it was the ACR that I was using. The ACR has like ZERO recoil - I think you get it at level 51?

Finished this one yesterday afternoon and am overall satisfied with the game. Did it blow me out of the water? No. Did I expect it to? No.
I think I clocked in at just under 8hrs - again I do not look for ROI on my gaming purchases - I just want to be entertained. And those 8 hrs were obviously spread over the past 13 calendar days. That is how I play all my games - I simply cannot sit there for hours on end like I could when I was younger.

Will I replay with all the new unlockables - no.
Was it a good tide me over until GOW3 - yes.

I liked the story, 'historic' elements, feeling of dread and doom as I got lower into hell itself. The last set of nine challenges were not as bad I the reviewers made them out to be - I actually quite liked the challenges and trying to get past them.

All in all - I am satisfied with this game and will buy the sequel. Just maybe not on day 1.

Thanks in advance,
Roman
