I've got some really nice gear on my PC characters - but that sword has eluded me thus far. The fire chain damage is killer.

Made it through the hotel sequence last night and I must admit that I was terrified but somehow fluked my way through it.

Just met Carl and his dad from Lost  ninja

Super happy I'm playing this.

Just left the high school portion. Intense!

I'm forgetting completely about using the bow. Anyone have luck with it? I know I should be using it more.

Thoughts?

It's funny: I thought I was going to be an atheist, but I don't feel that way. A lot of ex-JWs are atheists, though, just because of how they've been treated.

Come on over. The atheist waters great!  icon_wink

9  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Why all the hate toward Activision? on: August 13, 2014, 06:18:42 PM
IMHO some 'gamers' feel that DEV houses and their publishers owe us something based on all the cumulative dollars spent. And when we feel slighted - either from over saturation (as documented above), delayed game releases or what have you; we turn our anger to the only entity we feel that we could / should blame.

Irony is that it is the same gaming public that buys the very product over saturation and delayed games that cause all the 'hurt feelings' and perverted sense of entitlement.
Those companies have people running them that know how to make millions and they do it very well. If we as gamers were that smart as we think we are we wouldn't be gaming as much and instead help in running one of those companies....

Its a ridiculous merry-go-round. There are bigger fish to fry in my day to day life.

Just my 2 cents.
10  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on: August 12, 2014, 07:14:17 PM
Yup.

Its a young man's game now. I'm tired of succumbing to hit detection, lag etc etc. Sure I said the same thing last time but this time I mean it.
The honeymoon period wears off too fast and suddenly and then I find myself remorseful for thinking that it'd be any different this time around.

The most fun I had was when playing as a group - lots of laughs but the heartache ain't a big enough trade-off IMHO.

I'm too old for this shit!  I want Call of Duty Simple Warfare without all the techno gizmos everywhere.  I would love to see what a WW2, Korea or Vietnam era setting would look like on the new consoles.  Did like the incoming tide bit though.
Call of Duty: Original Warfare. Everyone gets a stick for melee and a rock for ranged.

just make sure that the stick for melee doesn't include the 'warp animation' in current COD titles.

Regardless I still won't buy.

I liked it a lot but can't say I loved it.  I think I prefer The Avengers and Ironman1 over GotG but I will look forward to GotG2 as it was enjoyable.  I guess I was hoping for a little more uniqueness compared to other Marvel films, it had some but I thought it would really break the mold of this type of flick.

I'm with Zinfan on this one. I liked it a lot too hut wasn't blown away by it.

I will say that i wished this was the film that Ice Pirates should have been!

Quote from: Dante Rising on August 08, 2014, 03:23:40 PM

I'm surprised that so many people, are picking house two, although it does fall under the old mantra of "location, location, location". my one added concern with house number ONE is that the appraisal was supposed to take 48-72 hours to get a response back. It has now been 12 days. Our mortgage broker said the appraiser is having a very difficult time coming up with a number.

I'm guessing that he is looking at the amount the builder put into the home (all the receipts), but can't properly marry that to the location, where it is about $80,000 above the other homes in the immediate area.

one other fact :

House 1 selling price: $200,000.
town's average home price (population 9800 people) $135,000

House 2 selling price: $205,000
Town's average home price (population 2300 people) $212,000

I think part of the problem is I'm emotionally invested in house one because I love the history behind it and the fact that one main rebuilt it as a labor of love

Two things.

1. Again - you can't ever change the neighbourhood and the train will also always be there and you will never get used to the 'white noise' people will tell you it ends up being. You will always love the home but hate, hate, hate the area where it is located plain and simple.

2. Another red flag for me is the capital already invested in it - My gut instinct is that he over-improved the home for the area and you will have a tough time ever getting the investment back out SHOULD you ever decide to sell in the future.

While the other home lacks the 'character' that you love in home #1 you will have a nice home with peace and quiet to enjoy an adult beverage while planning how to mould your new home into what you would like and not worry about a train every 3hrs or so. Your planning also has room for additional equity improvements given your figures.

hot dogs loaded or plain - makes no difference to me.
Same for the cooking method - boiled/steamed or grilled. I loves them all.
21  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Buying a House. Stuck on the Final Decision. Advice? on: August 08, 2014, 12:49:06 PM
You can't change your neighbourhood and thus should take the house with the better of the two. You can improve the interior as time comes.
Easy decision.

Case closed.

Honestly Ed - I didn't mean this to get political. Apologies - heck I'm Canadian so you can take that apology with %10000000000 honesty.

The 'nothing to see here' was meant purely as I am confident that our infrastructure could take care of this much more efficiently than where it is being fought now and that beating the drums of despair gets a little old now a day.
23  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Ebola outbreak on: July 31, 2014, 06:58:58 PM
I'm not saying that nothing will go wrong - but if a case(s) does show up here we have the infrastructure to better 'combat' the occurrence.

Look at the footage of the medical facilities there - beds right beside each other etc.
24  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Ebola outbreak on: July 31, 2014, 05:14:22 PM
wow! Talk about doomsday here guys.

The 'experts' are all saying that should it migrate to NA we have tried and true quarantine procedures that would serve to greatly lessen the impact.

I grabbed this title again as well as a PS4 last night. Thanks to EBgames offering it for $25 when I traded in the PS3 version. thumbsup

I only played up until
Spoiler for Hiden:
they meet Joel's brother/friend? the one with all the booby traps
on the PS3 and I'm looking forward to jumping back in after reading the last few posts.
There was something 'just not right' with me and the controller/shooting on the PS3. Granted I'm more used to the xbox controller but all this talk makes me more excited to pick this up and get back in.

#AmericansAreWeird icon_razz

But in all seriouness Lettuce - I eat it just like it is. Nothing fancy - just the fat free options. I've found that I do like Greek style yogurt - over the past year or so up here its all the rage on commercials. Greek style is thicker and creamier than 'normal' yogurt. I will say that Greek yogurt with fruit on the bottom is lame - the yogurt is so thick that it makes it hard to actually stir it up and distribute the fruit because your spoon is totally mired in it. #FirstWorldProblems  Roll Eyes

I wanted to like Demons Souls but just couldn't hack it - something with the setting/levels just didn't click with me.
When Dark Souls came out I jumped in with both feet and loved the game.
When I got stuck I headed to YouTube to look for tips and tricks etc. That alone made my 140+ hrs with the game highly enjoyable and rewarding.
