This shouldn't be considered a spoiler or anything since it is a trope of the genre but the fun just dies as soon as you start fighting other humans. Especially if you are a melee specialist.

I imagine I'll buy most of them during a steam sale someday. D: I will pick a couple of them up new but I'm not sure which. Saints Row 3, Batman AC, Jurassic Park, and Skyrim are the most likely early buys.

If you read that article, much of it was based on information gathered from other first hand sources. Like this: Mark Hamil said: "You can see a huge difference in the films that he does now and the films that he did when he was married. I know for a fact that Marcia Lucas was responsible for convincing him to keep that little 'kiss for luck' before Carrie [Fisher] and I swing across the chasm in the first film: 'Oh, I don't like it, people laugh in the previews,' and she said, 'George, they're laughing because it's so sweet and unexpected'-- and her influence was such that if she wanted to keep it, it was in. When the little mouse robot comes up when Harrison and I are delivering Chewbacca to the prison and he roars at it and it screams, sort of, and runs away, George wanted to cut that and Marcia insisted that he keep it." [lviii]
One interesting bit of trivia relating to her and Lucas' cinema is that Indiana, the Alaskan malamute that gave Indiana Jones his name and also gave Lucas the inspiration for Chewbacca, was in fact Marcia's dog, not George's. [lix] On the subject of Indiana Jones, Dale Pollock provides an anecdote which demonstrates how Marcia's presence in her husband's life influenced his films in subtle but significant ways--in this case, changing the ending for Raiders of the Lost Ark:
"[Marcia] was instrumental in changing the ending of Raiders, in which Indiana delivers the ark to Washington. Marion is nowhere to be seen, presumably stranded on an island with a submarine and a lot of melted Nazis. Marcia watched the rough cut in silence and then levelled the boom. She said there was no emotional resolution to the ending, because the girl disappears. 'Everyone was feeling really good until she said that,' Dunham recalls. 'It was one of those, "Oh no we lost sight of that." ' Spielberg reshot the scene in downtown San Francisco, having Marion wait for Indiana on the steps on the government building. Marcia, once again, had come to the rescue." [lx] The fact that she left him for another man may explain why he is so intent on destroying things that she also may have influenced. That is my theory. He hates Star Wars, he hates Star Wars fans, all because of his ex wife. We won't get a decent version until he dies.

Here is my prediction - and you may quote me on it when the game releases
"This game sucks"
/End prediction
Considering Rockstar has made or been involved in several of my all time favorite games, I'm in. I doubt it will suck. Disappointing, maybe.

I almost quit the game over the first boss. I walked in, no mater what I did I was dead within 10 seconds. I ended up going back a few saves and respecing.
I just don't get this. You don't need a single augmentation to win that fight, and it's not even hard! What were you trying to do, attack him head-on with your weapons? If you're not specced for that kind of approach, why did you do it anyway? Just look at what the game places in the vicinity. Toss cannisters at him. It's easy, and it can be done by ANY build. He doesn't even need to get line of sight to you for the entire battle if you don't want him to. Maybe the game played differently for me than you. Basically if I was any distance from him he would spam frag grenades. If I was close to him, even hiding behind a wall it would cut the the animation of him grabbing me and punching me. If I sprinted to a corner and grabbed a canister I would be dead before I could throw one. I ended up beating him by going back a few saves, investing in the typhoon aug, and hit him twice when he got near me. No battle with the first boss lasted more that 10 seconds.

and the defauly FemShep is: Two things: First, that image is perfect background for a Touchpad. The gray bump out on the top is the exact size of the search bubble. Second, any word if they will release the new default FemShep to be played on ME 1 and 2?

Anyone else felt odd playing the African american from New Orleans (the melee specialist) and spend the first 30 minutes of the game looting? Oh look, I just woke up from being drunk and no one is around. Guess I'll see what is in everyone's suitcase. because he's from new orleans? The whole character bio about his mom being on crack, not having a dad, living like a gangsta, etc. The character is like a page out of the inappropriate stereotype handbook. I picked him just because I want to club zombies.

Brad Shoemaker from Giantbomb said it was a lot like Fallout 3 with zombies. That was all I needed to hear to preorder it today.
After watching the string of recent Quick Looks in which Brad Shoemaker fumbles around blindly and is unable to answer even basic questions about the game he's supposed to be showing off, he might as well equate Dead Island to a can of asparagus wrapped in tort reform. It doesn't mean a thing. -Autistic Angel Brad isn't really good at playing and talking at the same time. I've followed Brad as a reviewer for a long time and he tends to like the same things in games that I do. He is one of the few reviews I'll buy a game based on his opinion even if it isn't well informed. YMMV of course.

I got about 10 cases in and stop. I think I will pick it up for the pc and start again. It felt more like a pc game.
I'm just hoping it's another system hog like GTA IV was on release. It uses a different engine so hopefully it will be a better experience. I hope Black & White mode looks better. I got the ps3 version and the textures look horrible in B&W. ps. welcome back Rob! Thanks!

I managed to snag two 32 gb models for my wife and myself. So far I love it. I like WebOS a lot more than iOS. Especially like the web browser much more than Safari. It is a real shame the platform is dead.

I loved the story and the setting but oh the combat was awful. Worst combat system ever. The only way they could of made it worse was for me to hit myself in the nuts to pull off every move.

We know that Double Fine is working on another game. We know thanks to the official Playstation magazine that its for the Playstation 3. Thanks to what we know via their hiring trends that Double Fine was looking for people with RTS and online experience. Which also goes hand and hand with people who have seen it say that its unlike anything he's done before yet makes sense if you know him and past interviews state he loves RTSs.
Any guesses.

What part of using the Unreal 3 engine to make the game lead you to believe it was going to be turn-based combat? I didn't think it was going to be turned based Jade Empire wasn't exactly real time either. It had broken time. You pushed buttons and whated. If you guess what buttons it wanted you to push at a specific time you were allowed too, then you one. If not you weren't given any feedback as to what the screw up was. Eventually you got a cheap move which you could execute over and over and you would almost always win but it was just so horribly boring. They should of stuck to either the combat engine of KOTOR or just made an actual fighting engine. What scares me since they said Mass Effect is going to have a Jade Empire combat engine, is it will be like a FPS except you with have to pull off timed combos and wait to see if you can sucessfully press fire or something stupid like that.

http://www.joystiq.com/2006/03/06/mass-effect-preview/"Mass Effect will combine the real-time fighting elements of Jade Empire with the interstellar conflict of KOTOR. Piloting your spaceship will also play a larger role than it did in KOTOR." So Bioware is taking the worse elements of its previous two games and making a game out of that. I was so looking forward to that game. Those two sentences just crushed all hope and desire I had to play that game. Well, maybe they will change their minds. The game isn't due out for a long time.

I need some help. I'm on the water boss Corallis. I'm told by the book that I need some explosion to get the creature to go into the water. However I can't figure out how to do it. There are some plant bombs sitting around. I tried sing the dragon to blow them up on land but that didn't do anything. I tried pushing them into the water but they just explode on contact and do nothing to the creature. Any Tips?
