Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Bioware 2005-10-04

Hmm. Well, to be honest, there is really next to NO information about what this game is going to be yet. It's probably a little early to be calling it a "Halo/Pariah" me-too scifi shooter. For all we know, it's not a shooter at all....
I'm more than inclined to give BioWare the benefit of the doubt.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Good Co-op XBox game?

My wife and I like to play actiony-roleplaying games together on the Xbox. We've finished Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II and XMen: Legends, and have been uniformly frustrated by Hunter: The Reckoning (bad camera control when in Co-op). We're looking for a new game to play together in co-op. Requirements would be: It should be heavy on the action, with a decent story, and co-op is in single screen (i.e. I HATE HATE HATE playing co-op in split screen mode a la Halo 2).
I had thought about LOTR: Third Age, but co-op mode sounds a little weak in that. Any suggestions?

I'm not certain on this, but I think the French woman's name is spelled Rousseau--like the French philosopher. This makes more sense to me as, I think someone else has already pointed out, Rousseau was the French philosophical counterpart of British philosopher John LOCKE during the Enlightenment in Europe.
But that could be a coincidence.....

Rikers - that sounds like a good possibility. Can you buy it anywhere or do I have to go to some moisturizing product counter in a department store? I'm not sure I could handle the embarrassment if I had to do that.
I bought it at a local drug store chain in Western Canada called London Drugs, and yes, it was in the cosmetics section, and it required the help of counter staff to purchase. Luckily, I had my lovely wife with me, and she did most of the talking. But really, I would have had no problem going up to the counter and asking for help. I don't think it says anything negative about me that I'm not a fan of dry skin.

I just went through the same thing. This weekend I started using a BioTherm product that is formulated for men--Aqua-something (it's at home, obviously). Smells a little like Ralph Lauren Polo cologne. Seems to work well. YMMV.
FYI, it's pretty expensive, but you only use a little bit each day.

Just wondering if anyone was up for trying again to get a Tribes Vengeance game going with Console Golders. Been playing pickup games and improving my skills, but I'd like to play with folks around here.
Any interest?

Thanks for hosting, Ron. I popped on at various times through the evening, and there wasn't anyone else around. I did play with some folks who stopped by briefly, but I don't think that they were Console Golders. Anyway, I had fun.
Next time, should we maybe set this up through IM or email so that folks can jump on when we know that other folks are on?

Looking for a new desktop and I was wondering if anyone out there knows of some good wallpaper from UT2K4 or Ghost Recon. Preferrably in 1280 x 1024.
OR, any suggestions for wallpaper OTHER than Deviantart.com?

As this is purely and absolutely subjective, I don't know that we should put guidelines on "greatness". I think you'd have to define it for yourself--is it talent? is it the way that you feel while listening/watching them perform? The list is potentially endless. Go with your gut, I say.

Who do folks here think was/is the greatest, most entertaining lead singer of a rock band? For me, even in a field that has Robert Plant, Roger Daltrey, Mick Jagger, there can be only one:
Freddie Mercury

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Bioware Launches 'NWN Premium Content' Store

I really do not see this as some kind of nefarious cash grab. As I see it, what they are offering is professionally done modules with new voice overs and a high level of polish, and that they are essentially just covering the cost of having their employees work on it. I see it as continuing to contribute to the community of their fans AS THEY HAVE ALWAYS done.
You can argue that there is a lot of free content out there. Granted. I've played a lot of them. With the exception of 2 or 3 REALLY excellent mods, I've found the vast majority uninspired and amateurish. The field between the Adam Millers of the NWN community and the majority of mod producers out there is quite wide. So if I have to pay $8 for a well produced, polished, professional level mod, I'm all over that action.

Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Anybody playing Halo PC multiplayer?

I was just working my way through the SP game of Halo for PC (finally!), and I was curious if anyone around here is playing the multiplayer. If so, what's it like? I've read that Halo multiplayer is pretty cool over Xbox live, but really, what do they have to choose from for FPS multiplay?
Opinions? Anyone looking to play?

Thin_J, in your previous desktop (and I'm guessing your new one), it appears that your entire desktop has been revamped (i.e. your Start menu has a bunch of customizations). I'd kinda like to set mine up the same way. Is that all just plain ol' XP functionality that I'm not hip to, or are you using some kind of tool/app to set all that stuff up?

I've read at other sites that some folks are recommending people get both Ad Aware and Spy Bot for cleaning their systems. Do you really need both, or does Ad Aware do the job adequately?

Hey, I just downloaded Ad Aware to install on my machine, but I'm also running Norton Antivirus and Norton Firewall. Any one here running Ad Aware in conjunction with those programs? If so, any conflicts between them?

Hey, what did people here think of BG: DA2? I've rented the first one a couple of times and really had fun with it, but I've never finished it. So my question is, should I look around for a bargain bin version of the first one (which I haven't seen in a LOOONG time) or just jump into the second one (which one assumes has better graphics, etc.)?

I've very much liked what I see here, Knightshade, and having recently become a console owner (Xbox), I'm happy to come to a site that has active info about both PC and Console games.
I'm sticking around.
