I kept waiting for the 1 vs 1 showdown on RI with Matt and the first person voted off but it didn't happen, now we have 3 people on RI and no jury members yet to observe the tribal councils.  I'm more curious as to what the show has up their sleeve in regards to the RI members, will we see a 3 way fight this week or will they continue to let the RI tribe grow to the point where they have one big showdown to get back into the game just before the final immunity challenge?

If you are worried about the blind spots and the sight lines out the rear of the Camaro you are driving it wrong.
3  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: iRacing on: March 11, 2011, 01:44:45 AM
You start with Legends '34 coupe on the oval side and an MX5 Cup/Roadster on the road side, Roadster is right hand drive and geared differently, most people find it fits the two starting tracks in the 4 week Nvidia Cup series better than the American version.  Once you get a safety rating of 3 you will have Street Stocks on the oval side and Spec Ford Racer and Solstice on the Road side to choose from also.

On the controller front I know a guy over at GWJ thought he could pull it off but after one night said it required just too much precision, I could see maybe testing the road cars with a gamepad but the two oval cars are run on such small tracks you really need a wheel, I've seen controller guys on track and they can't hold the steady line around those tiny ovals. The wheel base on that Legends is just too small to not have have pedals and a wheel.  This is a cool Sim/MMO but it really does have a high barrier to entry with the cost of equipment and content but for anyone who wanted series sim racing with some control on the quality of competition it's worth the investment.

4  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: iRacing on: March 10, 2011, 11:41:09 PM
OK so iRacing is running a buy one month for $12 get 2 free deal which finally got me to try it out.  OMG this thing is amazing, the way they structure a competition ladder with a safety ladder works great.  You start off with a safety rating of 2.5 a rookie license, in essence think of there being a safety ladder from 0 to 25 with the top 50 pro drivers in road and oval racing invited to compete in $10,500 grand prize series that pay back to 12 place, these are "televised" over at PSRTV.com.  Your safety rating keeps you from progressing to series and cars that are more powerful than you have demonstrated being able to handle.  The iRating is based on your finishing place in regards to the strength of field, these two ratings work together quite well at your rookie level.  I started off focusing on raising my SR because I wanted "D" rated content and your iRating is not visible until you get a D license.  If you quit out of races because you aren't winning your iRating will tank leaving you in a split with drivers who suck and cause a lot of incidents thus also tanking your SR.  You can gain SR by driving in individual time trials as well but you will not gain SR as fast doing this.  Your SR isn't based only on number of crashes but number of incidents per corner and goes back in general 10-15 races so if you race an 20 lap race on a track with 7 corners and get 2 incidents that's just 1 per every 70 corners, you keep that average up and you'll have an A license in no time.  Simply driving clean will usually get you a top 6 finish in rookie fields that are set to 10-12 drivers, almost all races have 40+ people sign up thus the splits based on iRating, top 12 guys in race 1 and so on down.

The tracks are laser scanned down to the millimeter, if there was a rock on the rumble strip that day it's there now.  In a recent blog post they commented how 2 years ago they had to beg people to be associated with them and now with NASCAR and other series actually sanctioning series they are fielding calls from tracks asking to be included in the Sim.  The physics model and tire model is better than we remember back in the Papyrus days with a new tire model due in the next update.  Cars are also built from blue prints and laser scans as well and the number of adjustments to a chassis at the higher levels is far greater than was available in any previous Sim I've seen but they work you up to that with the rookie series being fixed setups and then in D they gradually introduce more adjustments you can make.  The netcode has been rock solid, I've only seen a few drivers from Germany or Brazil blink once or twice but it monitors that and will drop them if it gets too low, rare IMO.  Oh that reminds me you have an international driver base of well over 20K active drivers 2-4 thousand on at most times.  I also actually track several professional drivers and I'm surprised at just how often I see some of them using the Sim, Scott Speed for instance is on a ton of the time.

There is a bunch of content provided at the flat monthly membership with additional cars running $12 I think and tracks $12-$15 each with volume discounts and the ability to earn credit by just participating in races each 12 week season.  They also add content on week 13's I gather and sometimes new cars or tracks are given away for free, I hear a new track is going to be included in the base membership in May.  The website itself is pretty cool providing members with all kinds of stats and tracking and the ability to spectate any race and even ghost drive in them if you wish.  There are plenty of learning tools and videos as well and the forums have been helpful to me.

I said this over on the GWJ site but the closest thing I can equate to this in the video game world are Blizzards Starcraft Tournaments and ladder system from what I understand of it.  For any of you who ever drove with us back in the Papyrus days I know it hooked Don D in a weekend as well.  There is a thread over at the GWJ forum with I think 6-8 of us commenting on it there.

Oh I did leave out one thing private leagues and sessions cost extra $3 or $4 for a 4 hour block of time and I don't believe they count towards your ratings but I enjoy the public system so much I don't really have a lot of desire to run a private league.  I also forgot to mention the whole Club system, you will be assigned to a Club based on geographical location and each club is part of a division so you will have a personal standing in your club as well as each series you are racing in and your Club as a whole will have a standing in a division with some kind of tournament run later on.  Also there are no aliases in iRacing, it takes your name from your payment method so if you use a credit card that doesn't have your name you'll have to contact support to have them change it to the proper name.
5  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Making your own Beef Jerky? on: January 19, 2011, 04:18:01 PM
I used to work with an older guy who had to use 3 dehydrators to keep up with the demand for his jerky during winter months.  I know it was quite spicy and he almost always used a 3lb. rump roast as his meat and charged $20-$25 for the end result, he would always keep small bags aside that he would give to me and another guy he spent his breaks with.

Shortly before he retired he gave me a giant bottle of soy sauce from Sam's Club that he said was his marinade.  He would pour out the top third of the bottle and load in all the other ingredients which he wrote on a piece of duct tape and slapped on the side of the bottle, unfortunately I wasn't smart enough to copy this down and the ink became unreadable.  But I used bits of it several times and it seemed the real key was in learning the proper thickness to cut the meat and how long you dried it as it could turn out really really great or just pretty damn good.  But I know the main base was soy sauce and lots of red pepper.

I have the Directv HDDVR and it slows way down if the unit gets too hot. I have to make sure that it's not sitting on or under another heat producing device. Giving it plenty of room to breathe seems to help its speed.

I also find it speeds up after you empty out most of your recorded shows.  I've had mine down to less than 20% available and then cleaned out the junk and watched a bunch of stuff, afterward everything seemed more responsive.

Also, am I missing something or is there no longer a way to have multiple bands for the same profile?  In prior games I'd have a band for my own use and another one for playing with the wife, so she could see the story progression as well.

Damn this was just about the only reason I picked RB3 up now and not later, the hope that I could use practice mode or no fail mode for guitar and bass notation for my real ones.  That blows but it does sound like there is some more robust gaminess to the touring instead of me making up my own goals.
9  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Short notice Fantasy Football draft for Tues on: September 06, 2010, 02:34:18 PM
I wanted to play in another league so I set up an ESPN league with a draft at 10am on Tuesday the 7th if anyone is interested. Its a PPR league with 2RBs, 3WRs no flex and 6pt passing TD's everything else is pretty standard.

Go to http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/leaguedirectory and search for "This Can't Be Football" to find the league and join if you want to.

I'm not sure what happens if there aren't enough owners come draft time.

It's helpful if you put the # of teams in your league, where you drafted, and any other odd changes to your structure to help with context.

First League - Office Pool.  10 Teams, Standard Scoring, Start 3 different IDPs (one DL, one LB, one DB).  7th overall pick, Snake Draft.  Team Name: WIN FOREVER.

7   Frank Gore, SF RB
14   Aaron Rodgers, GB QB
27   Ryan Mathews, SD RB
34   Greg Jennings, GB WR
47   Anquan Boldin, Bal WR
54   C.J. Spiller, Buf RB
67   Santana Moss, Was WR
74   Arian Foster, Hou RB
87   Jay Cutler, Chi QB
94   Zach Miller, Oak TE
107   49ers D/ST, SF D/ST
114   Cadillac Williams, TB RB
127   Lee Evans, Buf WR
134   Kevin Walter, Hou WR
147   Darren Sproles, SD RB
154   Owen Daniels, Hou TE
167   Toby Gerhart, Min RB
174   London Fletcher, Was LB
187   Mathias Kiwanuka, NYG DE
194   Danieal Manning, Chi S
207   Joe Nedney, SF K

Extremely happy with that team.

Love this team for the most part.

Spiller was a reach to me, I think Jackson will be back and could take back the majority role with his better blocking and receiving skills. Foster makes up for any doubts about the Spiller pick IMO, with that combo to start the year as #2 RB's nothing to worry about. Fletcher is getting old but still produces every year, Daniels could be back to his old self the second half and a great pick.

Had my first draft out of my 4 leagues I belong to.

10 player team
First League - Office Pool.  10 Teams, Standard Scoring, .  7th overall pick, Snake Draft.

Here is how it went
Team Name - Raider Haters
1st Round (Keeper) Peyton Manning QB
2nd Round DeAngelo Williams RB
3rd Round Chad Ochocinco WR
4th Round Jamaal Charles RB
5th Round Michael Crabtree WR
6th Round Ronnie Brown RB
7th Round Jason Witten TE
8th Round Jeremy Maclin WR
9th Round 49ers Def
10th Round Eli Manning QB
11th Round Braylon Edwards WR
12th Round Garret Hartley K
13th Round Darren Sproles RB
14th Round Alex Smith QB (Joke pick)
15th Round Jabar Gafney WR

How'd you do?

Not a huge fan of your starting WR's or your depth there but I have never played in a non PPR league so I value WR's more than others.  Think you'll be solid at RB, steady with some big weeks from Charles.  I think, if Stewart gets hurt in Carolina you could have one of the best RB's in football in Williams with a full load)
12  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Fantasy Football Team Draft Results on: September 04, 2010, 10:19:30 PM
12 team PPR snake draft, 6pt. per passing TD, kickers get bonus for long kicks, I picked 11th.

Draft was early August when there had only been about 4 total pre-season games played.

1 - Reggie Wayne (as 2nd WR off board, picked here based on what I thought 12th guy would do)
2 - Miles Austin (who I really wanted as my first WR but knew he would fall)
3 - C. Benson (not a PPR guy but best on the board at the 35th pick.)
4 - P. Thomas (didn't expect R. Bush to get so much work running the ball in pre-season, we'll see)
5 - R. Brown (with other 2 guys thought I was set pretty well at RB, no stars but solid)
6 - B. Celek (had him last year in auction league and his best weeks were with Kolb at helm)
7 - K. Kolb (crazy that I had to get him here but we were down to the 9th/10th QB's and it was scary after him)
8 - M. Floyd (might have waited too long for #3WR in a PPR league that starts 3 WR's)
9 - Fred Jackson (hadn't been hurt yet and Spiller hadn't shown anything yet)
10 - N. Burleson (gut feeling after owning both him and C. Johnson last year)
11 - Jacoby Jones (A. Johnson gets hurt and this guy turns into A. Johnson lite)
12 - Big Ben (Kolb has late bye week and now I'm worried after watching pre-season)
13 - C. Schilens (reach and I've already dropped him for Gaffney)
14 - R. Bironas (more long kicking chances than any kicker left on the board)
15 - next to last pick all good D's gone so I resorted to who played worst team week one and went with Arizona, should have picked a D in round 13 when only 4-5 had gone.

Second league 12 team PPR Auction, 2 IDP same rules as first league.

QB - Flacco (was last guy to buy one so I got him real cheap and spent the money in mid rounds on other players)
QB - Roethliserger ($1 late best insurance guy but one of the first I might drop)
RB - J. Charles (see Mathews)
RB - R. Mathews (love the schedule on both these guys)
RB - A. Bradshaw (starting now but still a time share)
RB - J. Stewart (depth for bye weeks)
WR - Wes Welker (PPR machine)
WR - Miles Austin (was high on him before awful preseason for Cowboys)
WR - M. Floyd (again)
WR - C. Chambers (could happen)
WR - Sidney Rice (was set at WR until the surgery, he now occupies my IR spot)
WR - Gaffney (took Rice's spot on team)
TE - Zach Miller (here's where I wish I'd spent my money I was left with at end on a better TE)
DP - Jon Beason (I've had Willis the last 2 years and nobody was going to let me have him this year so I settled for 2nd best even with the move to outside LB)
DP - Barrett Rudd (another top 5-10 LB, like my DP picks)
K - Longwell

13  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Fantasy Football Team Draft Results on: September 04, 2010, 09:59:36 PM
Will post my teams later on but everyone tell some draft day stories of crazy shit that happened in your draft.

I do an all day in person draft for two 12 team leagues, one snake and one auction worth about $3k in prize money between the 2 of them. So, stress can kind of be high for me.

First round of PPR snake draft went nuts with 4 QB's being drafted in the middle of RD. one and Manning went first ahead of Brees/Rodgers which is kind of insane when you consider schedule and the odds that Manning could be sitting on the bench on championship weekend. S. Jackson fell to the 12th spot, I passed on him with the 11th pick because every mock draft I did when drafting 11th and took a RB my WR's sucked and in my leagues I believe high scoring WR's are not as deep as RB's.

This really threw off the rest of the draft with other teams scrambling and reaching for a QB or the other four of us saying screw it we'll stock up on RB/WR and get a QB late, I ended up with the Kolb/Rothlesburger combo and have 2 #1 WR's and 3-4 borderline #1/#2 RB's and several #3 WR's with no real sleepers this year that I wanted.

The Auction draft saw a lot more guys pull out netbooks with custom software on them to help them draft, I screwed this team up and held onto money when I shouldn't have and took my last bench player for $8 instead of the $1 he was worth.

If you decide to go back to FG2, I can hunt up the video's I used to teach me how to use it from the GM's side, they weren't that long but there were other problems that we overcame with importing the rulesets and 4e books.  I saved all my folders and stuff from our game last year so I have most of that stuff even though I don't remember how we added in content that was missing, parsing tools and stuff like that were involved.  The 4e ruleset itself was also something that had to be tracked down and installed since FG couldn't legally host it themselves or create one of their own.  I think all the info was found at fouruglymonsters.

Combining FG2 with an expensive program like Campaign Cartographer and using Gimp as well worked really well for someone with the time and desire to build the adventure by those means.  We could have got by without the CC3 maps I built for the lvl 1 adventure stuff we did complete but preparing all that stuff was kind of fun, just wish I had set up a video recorder behind me to show my future self what the hell I did.

Not trying to belittle your thread but Amazon had this on sale for $35 just about a month ago which might account for limited interest.

It's gone back up now but Amazon regularly sells blurays for 60% or more off just a couple months after release which I think really hurts the resale market on these forums.

I went back and looked and saw that I pre-orderd this in '08 for $37.49, BoB is one of those sets that almost everyone who would be interested already owns at least one copy of if not more than one. It also seems to go on sale several times a year.  I'm sure you can get rid of it eventually but not so sure it will be at a price your happy with, just saying.

Ditto.

10.5 years with DTV, I'm with these 2.

I've noticed after deleting all the crap on my DVR's in the past and then rebooting them the slow response time goes away.  In my mind I think of it as defragging the HD.  I'm also very happy with my customer service I get from DirecTV.  I once emailed them with just a question as to why they weren't going to have dual live buffers on the new DVR's, it wasn't a threat I just was adding my voice to the list of customers that used that feature a lot, I got a call from them where they offered to just give me all new equipment for free.  The dual live buffers were eventually added back in as well.

Well it looks like I'm in the 6 months early camp, my previous renewal date was the end of September, I guess the renewal is 18 months into the contract?  My main reason to renew is to try to jailbreak the new phone so I can use it as my hotspot for my iPad, my current iPhone was a refurb and the wifi part of it broke about 4 months into ownership.  If the jailbreak and hotspot thing doesn't pan out I'll be giving up my unlimited on my phone and going down to the $15 a month fee, since getting the iPad I rarely use my phone except for texting, phone calls and as an iPod.

Whenever I order a bare drive from Newegg, mine comes wrapped in bubble pack in a box with styrofoam in it. Never had a DoA drive from them yet.

Mine arrive always wrapped in big bubble wrap taped up nice and tight and surrounded by peanuts in a box, no worries at all about ordering a bare drive from Newegg.

It was my understanding from the presentation back in January that the iPad was never intended to be locked down to AT&T, the only thing keeping other companies from offering a data plan for it was them providing the right size sim card.  I'm not suggesting that Apple and AT&T were going to make it easier to sign up with a competitor than with AT&T just that the possibility was going to be there if other carriers wanted to support it.

I'm loving my iPad, it does exactly what I needed it to do.  I work on an assembly line so I only have around 5-10 seconds or so each minute to read and having the iPad with it's larger screen has allowed me to spend the 2 hours a day I spent reading the internet at home doing something else since I can now read it at work.  The USA today app and comiczeal4 eat up the rest of the evening at work after I run through my websites.  I already had an iPhone but this is so much better when you have to turn around and find your place on the screen to read 2 sentences before working again.  People asked who needs this, well guys like me who don't have PC access for 10 hours a day need it.

I wish a few more applications would update to be full size on the iPad the 2x button sucks.

I thought Zod wasn't written very well for most of the season and when it got picked up for a 10th season I was really hoping they would continue the Checkmate story into next season.  The last two seasons of introducing the new bad guy and disposing of them at the end of the season hasn't been near as engaging as seeing Lex slowly turn into the Lex we all knew he would be.  Tess in my opinion just never seemed "bad" she always seemed misguided in her actions, she was more like Lionel was in his last few seasons than she was like Lex.

So speculation on the new villain for next season? I didn't get the significance of the old lady outside Tess' room, Granny Goodness? and who or what was coming after Oliver?

Oh and how do you do a spoiler tag?
28  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [TV] Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains on: May 14, 2010, 05:23:54 PM
One of them I think it was Sandra said it plain as day that everyone wants to keep Russel because they all think they can beat him for the million so even though Sandra would like him gone he isn't going anywhere.

I think both Parvati and Russel will stick together to get rid of Sandra after Colby is gone, they can't wait to vote off Colby on the off chance that he could win an immunity, Colby is next to go.  I have to say it's been incredible to see him stick only because nobody thinks he is a threat to win an immunity, they voted off the girls before him because he's been so useless.

At this point I can't imagine any other final three other than Russel, Parvati and Jerri, all three of them have to think the other 2 are their best option for winning the million.

Oh and I liked Sandra telling Russel point blank she was against him just like he told Boston Rob right in front of her that she should be voted off earlier.

I just don't think Parvati or Russel will allow Sandra into the final 3 no matter how much they don't want each other in there, they have to know she would have more jury votes than either of them while Jerri to them poses no threat.  The one and only reason I can think of for Russel to vote out Parvati and Jerri is that he thinks they would vote for him in the final over Colby and Sandra.

Agreed that only Russel, Parv or Sandra deserve to win.  Russel and Parv for obvious reasons but Sandra because she was no the wrong villains alliance and has tried to flip after the merge and has still managed to be able to walk up to anyone on that beach and talk to them like she is part of their alliance and they just accept it.  Parv is going to make an alliance with Sandra and Jerri this week she has no choice but to me that shows that Sandra actually played better unlike Jerri who seems clueless out there and has this dazed look on her face whenever anyone comes up to talk to her about what is going on.

Russel deserved to win last year hands down and shame on the jury for not giving it to him but this season I really think he has made too many mistakes from getting caught looking for the idol to trying to pit the strong willed women against each other, he has never been in control like he was last year.

it just occurred to me that I don't remember the scene they had in the comemrcials where Pepper kisses the helmet before handing it to Tony on a plane.  did I blink at the wrong moment?

I have a feeling that was filmed for Tony's entrance to the Expo but they felt Pepper would make a better entrance into the film later on so an alternate scene was used and the one with Pepper was used for the trailers.  I've seen it happen in movies for years, I'd rather they do that then show all the good parts in the trailers.

My wife and I took my Mom to see this today and everyone loved it!!  Great movie!  I loved the action and the dialogue stuff didn't bother me.  I even liked all the Avengers references.  Make sure you stay after the credits for a bonus scene.

 I'm glad I did:

Spoiler for Hiden:
I was trying to figure out wht Carlson was being re-assigned to New Mexico.  I was leaning towards a Hulk reference but that was definitely interesting.

oh, and I think I was the only person in the theater who laughed at the use of the shield in the lab.  I don't know if it was that people didn't get the reference (I heard others asking what was up with the hammer) or if they just weren't familiar with the relationship between IM and CA.

I enjoyed the shield gag as well.  I bet most don't know what it is.

The Shield was in Iron Man 1 in his shop as well but it wasn't all busted up then, it was laying on a table in one scene like a piece of scrap.  I guess it was part of his art collection at one point, something he had to have.

I was expecting the Hammer to be in Oklahoma like it showed up at the start of Civil War but then they wouldn't have been able to use the New Mexico license plate motto of "Land of Enchantment" as a gag.

The only bad thing about the Sharks game tonight was not getting to listen to regular announcing team of Hahn and Remenda.

Also despite what they said at the end of the game when interviewing Marleau this isn't the Sharks first time in the Conference Finals, they lost to Calgary in 6 games back in 2004.

Where were you, I had Hahn and Remenda on here in the Bay?

I live in KC and watch NHL Center Ice, but game 5 was broadcast by VS. and the CSN feed was blacked out so I didn't have the normal broadcast team.

I have a cheap usb pod style from Zonet that has a tiny antenna on the pod.  I haven't had any problems in games yet and it gives me the benefit of being able to steal a neighbors wifi connection to download my steam games overnight  icon_twisted

I've been happy for years with my wireless Microsoft KB and Logitech G7 mouse.  I recently added in a wireless headset from creative, no more wheeling over the 10' cord and breaking another expensive headset.

The G7 has a rechargeable battery that takes all of 5 seconds to swap out and the KB batteries last forever, the new headset can be plugged in via usb to charge even while using it.  I only have issues with the mouse when my PS3 is updating via wireless for some reason otherwise nothing else has interfered with it.

That would be great but I still have a bunch of other specialized controllers and peripherals plugged in via cords, not to mention the receiving units for the KB & Mouse.

I've been playing for about a week now and have really enjoyed but I've stuck to the public servers and conquest mode, think I'm ready to play with some people I at least kind of know.

I'm an origin kind of guy so sequels never seem as good to me as the first ones do.  I prefer the start of Spider-Man 1 up until he leaves high school to the rest of the Spider-Man movies.  I like Batman Begins a ton more than Dark Knight this also has some to do with them using Sandman and Ra's as the villains instead of them trotting out the more well known villains again.  Hellboy 2 might be the only sequel I preferred over the first one in the superhero genre.  With all that said I really enjoyed Iron Man 2 but my viewing was colored.

I hadn't been to a theater since the second Pirates of the Caribbean movie, I feel like if I spent as much money on my home theater as I have that I should save those big event movies for it.  Well yesterday was my birthday and I thought I would treat myself to an IMAX viewing of IM2.  I re-watched the first IM on Sunday night (2nd viewing of it) as a primer and while it had the enjoyable origin part in it once he really became Iron Man the movie was over quickly.  After seeing IM2 I actually might like it more than the first but that could just be the novelty of seeing a movie at that level of presentation. I enjoyed RDJ as Tony something I didn't like that much about Tobey Maguire or Bale when they weren't in costume.  The Stark character despite how he tried to change in the first IM is still Tony Stark in the 2nd one although a lot more like the Ultimate Tony IMO than the 616 Tony.  I felt like we got a lot more Iron Man as well but I will agree that they kind of wasted Rourke in the end.  I'm a big Daredevil comic fan so Black Widow ranks a little higher on my list of favorite characters and her big scene was great but her role in the movie was all setup, going in I wasn't sure how they were going to use her since she has been both villain and hero in IM comics.  Whiplash and Hammer weren't used that much differently than the 2 villains in the first movie so I don't really get the complaints of them cramming too many characters into the 2nd movie.  All in all I think they did a better job of developing the existing characters in the 2nd film and gave more insight into the motivations of the new characters that replaced the ones from the 1st movie.  It took me a year and a half to re-watch the 1st one, I'd go back and watch the 2nd one today if someone asked me to.

Last summer I saw how much the original was going for on eBay and called my sister up to see if she still had mine, back when I first moved out in '89 most of my childhood toys and stuff somehow got stored in her basement.  She told me that they had recently thrown it away in the last couple of years because it looked like the batteries had been left in it and it corroded the thing.  That was the second of two valuable games I thought I had in good working condition stored elsewhere that turned out to be ruined now.

Seems like the first season of immunity idols they hid them too well, then they started the "we'll put them right in the damn camp since these people won't do anything but sit in their fort all day".  I miss the exile island bit as well, not for the hardship of being alone but I seem to remember at first that the person sent couldn't be voted out maybe I'm mistaken.  The food aspect never seems to play a part anymore, season 1 they were eating rats, season 2 they had to trade all their items they had won for a bag of rice because they were freaking starving to death and couldn't move in the challenges.  Too damn many fish/bananas/coconuts around them every year now.  I'm also not crazy about the challenges that involve getting so physical with each other, we're getting more and more injuries and warnings from Jeff about it getting out of hand.

I still want a single immunity/merged tribe from day one type of season to eliminate the whole tribe vs tribe aspect and make everyone form alliances from day one with everyone else to choose from and only 1 or 2 being safe from going home every 3 days.

I did a lot of 30 second skips ahead while watching this week but I kind of got a vibe early on that Candice didn't trust that Sandra was really going to flip to their side so she figured better to flip to the villains and be the last Hero standing than get voted out earlier.  Even though Russel said he wasn't sure how far he would want to take Candice with him he can't bring her to the final 3, she'll win on the simple fact of last Hero left in the game like Danny did several seasons ago.  Candice would get the hard feelings votes and the "wow you managed to outlast all those villains votes."  Russel has to take Parv and Danielle to have a chance in the final.  Jerri needs to wise up and switch to Colby, Rupert and Sandra, granted she would still be 4th but she would have a better chance of beating one of them in a final endurance immunity challenge than if she sticks with Russel, Danielle and Parv.

Even with all the scenes for next week the two girls will have to wait to kick out Russel, if they did it now they could find themselves alone, I'd bet Candice would flip back if Russel was gone.
