Ah right, i'm only as far as getting Lymle so defintely worth starting again, i'm not hardcore into difficulty etc, rather just enjoy the play through and game first time through.

Cheers
763  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Star Ocean : The Last Hope Impressions on: June 24, 2009, 11:54:37 AM
Well i picked this up, enjoying it but i'm finding it anything but easy. Playing on normal level and occasionally i'm getting my ass handed to me. Which is very frustrating when it seems the save points are either too close together or too far apart.

I must be missing something with battle system.
764  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Total war empire Patch 1.3 today on: June 23, 2009, 04:18:40 PM
Optional, you get 14 free units with the patch and an option to buy another 14 units for the prices quoted above.
765  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What are you buying this week? (6/22) on: June 22, 2009, 08:57:41 AM
Yeah ArmaII hit here this friday and a lower price point of 24.99 which is 5 lower than normal new releases. I was so tempted but i can see more patches and a price drop to 19.99 - 14.99 coming very quickly
766  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [360] Looking to boost your Gamerscore? on: June 22, 2009, 08:15:09 AM
I just can't understand why anyone would just play a game to boost their Gamerscore.

I mean come on, games are meant to be fun, as soon as it becomes a grind or unfun why play just for an increased Gamerscore.

Maybe if i was 15 i may understand it better.
767  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What are you buying this week? (6/22) on: June 22, 2009, 08:10:49 AM
Think i might pick up Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
768  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Empire Total War 50% Off on Steam on: June 21, 2009, 07:15:26 AM
Yep i'd agree with that, never ever visit that forum.
769  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Tales of Vesperia announced on: June 15, 2009, 05:59:53 PM
This is due on the 26th June in the Uk, along with Star Ocean this could keep me busy for the summer.
770  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Star Ocean : The Last Hope Impressions on: June 13, 2009, 06:39:26 PM
Yeah i loved Sacred 2 on the PC.

Personally i'd keep an eye out for the deal of the week jobby. I got Fable 2 at 20 months before it actually became that price.

I have toa dmit i am now actually playing Mass Effect for the first time and also bought a PSP and am stuck into FF7 and Crisis Core so it's not like i'm short on stuff to play but i do like to have stuff lined up to play even if it's months later. I worry more if i don't have a decent backlog.
771  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Why do I keep getting MMO's on: June 13, 2009, 06:24:21 PM
I love the housing in EQ2. Also like the money side of it. You only need to pay a weeks upkeep to get access back.

The large house i have has a church in the basement as well as a graveyard. This is on my Druid.

I also have a full wal of trophies from the heritage quests and master spells as well as a small library etc. I remember spending weeks getting that set up.

All i need is a theme for the top floor.
772  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Star Ocean : The Last Hope Impressions on: June 13, 2009, 06:20:44 PM
I see this has just got a release in the UK. Tempted to get it but the reviews seem pretty poor. Speaking to some of the workers in the game/gamestation it hasn't sold well at all.

Yet the feedback here has been pretty good. Anyone got any more to add. I will pick it up but atm its 40 but if it's not selling i'm sure it will be on deal of the week at 20 pretty soon.
773  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Aion, anyone heard of this MMO? on: June 08, 2009, 04:13:14 PM
I agree, i played for an hour and stopped. It's like a poor man's WoW with pretty much nothing new. The core of the game is just the same in every way.

This has dropped off my to play list for now.
774  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: When did Final Fantasy 7 come to the PSP? on: June 07, 2009, 06:47:55 PM
I got a PSP 3000 2nd hand middle of the week. Never been into handhelds but recently my job has meant lots fo train travel so thought why not.

I like all types of games except FPS's.

Anyways i picked up a few and pretty cheap they were. It's nice not having to spend more than 10 for them either.

I got

Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core
Final fantasy Tactics The War of the Lions
GTA Vice City Stories
HOt Shots Golf 2 (Everybodys Golf 2 in the UK)
Monster Hunter Freedom 2
Test Drive Unlimited.

Others I Fancy are Tekken, Jeanne D'arc,  God of War, Burnout Legends, Wipeout Pure, Disagea, Daxter and Football Manager 2009 which i am trying to stay away from as i know i will get tooa ddicted to it and end up taking it too work to play.

Thing is all i have played this weekend is FFVII from the PSN store. I played it once ont he PS1 when it first came out and got 75% through and i must admit it's playing great so far.

I think if you had a PSP long term the release schedule is/was weak but for a first time pick up there are loads of superb games out there and all at very cheap prices.
775  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Jumpgate Evolution on: June 07, 2009, 09:35:32 AM
I think many of us are starved of a top notch space sim game. Eve while set in space isn't it and many of us have been waiting for some more free space or independence war adn the releases are few and far between.

Ideally a single player game or 2 would be nice (i tried the X series but they never did work for me) but online will work nicely i hope. Now if they get PvP right it could be great fun. The thought of a few hundred ships in space going head to head in battle really works for me especially at close quarters rather than at 100+ km's.
776  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: PSP Downloads on: June 05, 2009, 09:09:51 PM
Thanks for the replies, managed to get FF7 to DL eventually.

i don't have a PS3.

Is it quicker doing it through the PC as well, not sure what the connection speed via wireless on the PSP is/
777  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Aion, anyone heard of this MMO? on: June 05, 2009, 05:50:33 PM
Still no luck for me, also no luck getting on the beta forums atm.

I am getting this error message if anyone has any more ideas?

Genghis.CommandLineParser+UsageException: TargetApplication: Required argument not found

   at NC.BootStrap.CommandLine.ParseArgs(String anArgString)

Ok fixed it, seems it needed verdana regular to install it and i didn't have it installed.
778  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / PSP Downloads on: June 05, 2009, 01:23:36 PM
I have just got a psp and am tryign to download some stuff from the PSN store. Due to the release of FFVII it seems the connection is not reliable. Anyways is it possible to resume the download from the store when it fails or do i have to start again?

I got 82% of the way through and i failed last time and now i have to start again unless i am missing something?

Anyone got any ideas?
779  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Aion, anyone heard of this MMO? on: June 04, 2009, 06:42:20 PM
Thanks for the link, the fix didn't work for me though.

Hopefully be able to download the client direct at the weekend from somewhere

Pah, can't get the downloader to work, it starts but nothing downloads, cant seem to register on the beta boards or find anything out about this issue.

Anyone have any ideas?

But, the thing is - IS there any developement?? Other than people getting older? Do they do anything fun? Will someone become a monster and marry everyone in the neighborhood? Will someone try and kill everyone? Will someone just pack up and leave head for the road?

Or will there be a character who plays as many mmo's as Raz for just 1 month  eek
782  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Aion, anyone heard of this MMO? on: June 03, 2009, 04:56:49 PM
I got a closed beta key for this weekend which also gives me entry to all other Aion betas as well.
783  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Champions Online (Cryptic's new MMO) on: May 24, 2009, 05:29:49 PM
Yeah i can't believe ONE person could screw the game up.

As for the levelling reward, for most people you need it. Even if it's every one or two levels it needs to be gear or skills. Heck in AoC i hated the way you went for a few levels with no rewards or spells.

I don't mind the mechanic behind levelling or gear but it would be nice to have different settings rather than fantasy.
784  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Jumpgate Evolution on: May 23, 2009, 12:07:33 PM
I am 100% getting this on release day.
785  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Why do I keep getting MMO's on: May 23, 2009, 12:06:31 PM
I agree with Hilt, i revisit many mmo's an dplay for a moth or so then let it lapse and replay. All i can say is normally in the 1st month i get more than my money's worth in play time and for the cost of a 1 month resub the same again.

For some reason people think with mmo's they need to play it for 100's of hours to get value when really 20 or 30 hours is more than 90% of the games out is good value.
786  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Fallout 3: Broken Steel today! on: May 05, 2009, 08:34:54 PM
Also it seems that the 1.5 version screws up a lot of the mods as well.

Yeah  i have a  full set of +3 implants which still equates to 100mill + i can't afford to lose yet i would like to do low sec. I am up to 7.0 on standing though so not too far to go for a jump clone.

All ships that aren't amarr ones are butt ugly, think, fat, ginger, bird after a hangover, no really i chose amarr because i love the look of their ships.

As to drones, they are a godsend, especially as you get bigger ships, i  mean i can't take out 10 fast moving frigs in my BS, so send out my tech II drones and forget about them. Well worth it.
790  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Eve Online - GT+OO Corporation (Naming?) on: April 20, 2009, 04:30:47 PM
I didn't use a salvage ship until i hit battlecruiser and set my omen up as a salvager. 3 salvagers, 2 tractor beams, 2 cap recharge II and an ABII.   Expanded cargohold in the low slots makes for 1000 m3 in space and works very nicely.

In my BS i use my BC as salvager (Harbi) it has 4 salvagers/4 tractor beams, 3 cap recharger II and 1 100mm ABII with cargo expanders in the low slots. This setup seems to be perfect and very quick.
791  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Worldwide Soccer Manager 2009 on: April 17, 2009, 06:36:01 PM
This by far the best recent version, it has a new 3d match engine and plenty of new features. Big improvement on 2008 and definitely worth the money. it has recently had it's 2nd patch which has fixed just about everything.

My pc is in the living room and I never play with sound. I can talk to the wife and keep half an eye on TV while I'm playing.

Yeah same here, gives me some leeway to play a bit more at times as we chat as i play and she watches TV. I'm sure if i was in another room i wouldn't get to play half as much.
793  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Eve Online - GT+OO Corporation (Naming?) on: April 16, 2009, 12:53:36 PM
Yes here in the UK playing games with sound on while having Tea and Scones is a real no no anyways.

Sure blame blizzard, i mean it is their fault, still doesn't actually change the fact that the odds are massive this would happen and you know this. Sometimes being realistic prevents disappointment and wasted time. Think before you play on patch day  icon_twisted

796  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Eve Online - GT+OO Corporation (Naming?) on: April 13, 2009, 07:34:19 PM
Well full insurance for my Abaddon was 54 mill, but thats cover of 180 mill, ship cost 140 mil, so add fittings etc and i'm well covered except for the rigs which probably cost 50 mill alone.

In my opinion insurance on the expensive ships is a must. i know they say don't fly what you can't afford to lose, well i can't afford to lose it without insurance.

I love reading but you have the same issue in books, take the fantasy genre, 99% all the same, same types of creatures, same basic story line, hence i don't read them often.

Yep most early skills are easy to get to lvl 4 within a day or so and up to Battlecruisers is more than adequate.

Well I'm an amarr and am happy jumping back and forth. I'm doing Level 3 missions at the moment but will look to moving closer to our main base.

As to our direction I'm happy to go anywhere as long as we are clear on where we are going.

People need to know if we are going for a mining as core followed by a/b/c so it indicates what sort of game they will be involved in.

Most people are pretty self sufficient and corp money can be spent on whatever is need by the corp, eg haulers/hulks etc.

I think if we are going to do pvp stuff then maybe supplying money for insurance costs or fitting destroyed ships is always an option.

We need to decide if we are staying small and recruiting from within forums or go for outsiders and go bigger.

Finally we can always decide and if we don't like it change it again, there is plenty of scope for different things.
