I just don't understand the whole don't understand the game. it is pretty much as they said it was. The thing is people wanted more than that and just put their hopes on it even though it was unrealistic.

It's a exploration game with interest points, some simple crafting, some basic flight and moving around with some simple shooting. It is not a fps, flight sim or open world story game. Sure it has a few basic options in each of those but really it is an exploration and cataloging game and I am loving what little I have had time to play.

Nowhere did I ever read it would be like ED and a flight sim, or CoD with FPS game play or have a storyline like GTA V but pepole still assumed it would have those. Really people need to look at themselves and ask why they believed this.

This game has made a lot of people look like morons but lets blame the devs anyways then even though I might be a twat at least there can be a nice group of us.

Exactly. Starting Tuesday, because fuck you bullshit, I have to avoid most every gaming news site on the planet. The entire point of the game is 'discovery', and, well, that is going to be so easily spoiled.

I remember back when I was a kid games just released on a Tuesday and that was how things worked. Period.

Yeah don't be stupid, the release date outside the center of the universe was Friday on PC so I assume the rest of the world would just have to fuck off anyways then eh...

Just picked this up due to good word of mouth but it's a 52 gig download. Should take a while even on a 200mb line.
4  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Harvest Moon-like game No. 1 at Steam's top sellers list on: March 03, 2016, 07:51:38 AM
Nope not at all. The developer is really quick to quash issues as they arise but nothing that really breaks the game or affects performance.
5  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Harvest Moon-like game No. 1 at Steam's top sellers list on: March 02, 2016, 06:37:44 PM
Me what with this and factorio at the same time. This plays great, something relaxed, chilled and light to play. Nice progression and plenty to do and discover.
6  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC] Factorio on: March 02, 2016, 06:36:57 PM
Yeah I got this and it's excellent so far.

I am playing it and it's good. Nothing really like it on the PC. A slow leisurely game to play as when and it plays just like that.

Apparently 4 player coop is to follow as well.

Bought the deluxe and played a couple of hours tonight. What a blast! Mostly solo to get acquainted, then a few co-ops. Is it possible to have voice chat only in the headphones while game sounds stay in my speakers?

My Steam name is Deadline

Blackjack I sent you a friend req, hope to see you guys soon!

HI BrianE was looking to send you a friend request not sure which Deadline you are?

I got the deluxe but wonder if it is really worth it. NOt been yelled at yet but I do suck at it. It's harder than it looks at times. A few times people have joined my game and dug me out of a hole or 2.

I shelved RM Golf the reviews are awful and got The Golf Club while on offer and also bought the extreme edition for the season and extras. Not played a massive amount but it sure is great. Really enjoying it exce[tfor tehputting which I cant do yet but its more of a learning thing.

I am always looking that game and wanting to try it, but the reviews aren't very good. Has it gotten better, or were the reviews harsh?

The EA games never captured the Links feeling for me. Miss that game.

The reviews put me off for a while as well, but with Rory sucking there just isn't anything else nad a I wanted a golf game this seemed the best, as above it can be difficult but it certainly feels more like Links than EA golf games do.

Re RM Golf they have said they will be doing constant addons to it rather than a new version yearly. However there is hardly a career mode, no golf club stuff like 14, no take it in turns golf play like 4 balls, only 8 courses as well. Comapred to TW14 it'sa  travesty. Aslo performance is poor and graphics are not that great, a quarter the number of golfers, no legends, no females either. Seems madness.

Yeah PC version is a cluster fuck apprently, no Xbox one code or PC code available for pre release reviews on PS4.

Almost sounds like they know the PC port is a screw up.
28  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/XB1/Wii U/Ps4] Project CARS on: May 07, 2015, 12:08:13 PM

29  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Crew Demo on: May 02, 2015, 09:12:25 AM
Yeah 1.10 seconds is pathetic for anything to be given a try of course as an Arsenal I understand how that can happen   eek

Say your issues and maybe someone can help, there are a few easy setting changes for handling that really make it handle well.

37  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Eurogamer drops review scores on: February 12, 2015, 06:01:29 PM
The big issue with reviews is the 7/8 out of 10. It means nothing any more. Sure a 9/10 or 10/10 makes a game seem great and something to look at I find more and more that the triple AAA releases have enough sites give it a 9 or 10 regardless it is difficult to weed out the wheat from the chaff.

It seems the only way to get a decent grip on if a game is any good is to read all the words in the reviews(s) and form a decision based on that while really ignoring the score as really means very little even in a 9 or 10 rating. I find myself reading more and more reviews and forum comments to decide if it is for me. Evolve I spent ages reading about and in the end decided no.

Now the one thing I use Metatcritic for is finding games I may be interested in. Say I want an RPG to play. I go to it, filter to all rpgs or whatever I am looking for and then browse the titles looking at multiple reviews etc and that is really useful. But just using the scores from that site would no more guarantee me finding a good game than just picking one randomly. reading the words is key and I can't believe anyone just scrolls to the end of a couple of reviews and sees 8/10 and thinks yes that's worth 30 or $50 or whatever. To me it that is so hit and miss with the lack of score relevance anymore. I would have to read much more.

I admit I got taken in by the 10/10 on Sunless Sea on Eurogamer and bought it. I really dislike it, since reading further it's pretty obvious I wouldn't have liked it much but a shiny 10/10 convinced me and I should have known better.

I know people disagree that Metacritic is the issue but seeing so many people in the business saying it is an issue it really must be.

I have restarted after the update, looking good so far. Only played 30 minutes so far but liking it alot. I played loads of Terraria and while similar I like the futuristic style.

Beat Act V on Friday, and started running rift and bounties yesterday.  Found my first Vault Goblin, which was nuts.  Up to that point (barely finished Act V, Paragon level 10), I had amassed about 3 million gold and only around 50 blood shards.  After 20 minutes in the Vault, I came away with over 12 million gold, 600 blood shards, 18 new Imperial gems, and 5 new legendary items.

Not that I'm complaining, but quadrupling my gold in a single short dungeon felt a little OP.  How common are those Vault Goblins?

At the upper level you will spend that gold easily trying to get the top tier gems and getting the slots you want on the best items, it seems a lot but you can soon spend it. I have had 2 of them, make the most of it
40  Gaming / Portable Gaming & Apps / Re: Puzzles and Dragons, what gives? on: December 03, 2014, 11:07:23 AM
Well I play it a fair bit, it is my main game on my iPad. I amRank 210 on the U.S. version and 167 on the UK one.

I really struggle now to play match 3 where you can only move 1 orb one place once, it's like going back to using pen and paper rather than email. Playing Marvel Puzzle quest and Gems of War and both feel to slow and limiting now.

PaD is like Pokemon in that there are over 1000 to get, there is lots of content aimed at all levels, collabarations with special characters including DC, Batman etc etc.

Also they run events every week or so last 2 weeks where they give out free stone of which 5 get you a role of the rare creatures means it really is free to play.

At present I am 550 days logged in one game and 450 on the other. Normally play for 30 minutes to an hour, spend your stamina in the morning and then again in the evening. One big change they made recently was stamina is now every 5 minutes instead of 10 meaning more chance to run the bigger harder dungeons. I have 121 stamina so that is a fair amount of gameplay if you want.

There is a big thread here http://www.quartertothree.com/game-talk/showthread.php?72029-Puzzle-amp-Dragons
