121  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Wanderers invite you on: November 05, 2004, 09:49:32 PM
I won't rehash what Charlatan and Gollum are saying except to say that yeah, what happened to Gollum can happen, though I don't think anyone wants that to be the case.  It has happened to me in games.

Somtimes people join a chat channel or get an invite and are introduced to folks that are online at the time.  Others log on without the benefit of the introduction so they don't know the person asking the questions.  Now, that's not an excuse but maybe an explanation of why you may have felt like you got the cold shoulder.

I'm not in the group playing WoW (I'm doing EQ2) but I've been involved in the guild since late '02 and it's a great bunch of folks, 75% of which have roots at Gone Gold.  If you are planning on playing WoW you might give it another shot.

I would also encourage anyone planning to join us to register and post at the forums (actually this is required--you have to agree to the CoC).  Semi-frequent posting is a great way to get people to recognize you in game and hey, we can all use another message board to frequent eh?

Whatever your decision I hope you can find a good guild to play with.  That makes the games IMHO.

Sweet.  I'm looking forward to this one way more than TTT Extended Edition.
125  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Poll: EQ2 or WOW on: October 15, 2004, 09:52:41 PM
On a relatively unrelated note, I would say that arguably bards were the hardest class to play as they not only could run CC, they could pull, run clarity, buff group speed/dmg, slow, and DoT mobs depending on the individual situation.  Now IMNSHO THAT is a class created by thinking out of the box.

Of course I played a bard more than any other class so my view is a little biased slywink
126  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Poll: EQ2 or WOW on: October 14, 2004, 05:16:27 PM
This reminds me of five years ago when everyone was in the UO or EQ and to a lesser extent AC camps on which game was better.

Both of these games are going to be huge.  I guess since I plan on trying both (though admittedly I'm much more interested in EQ2),  I don't get the stark contrasts people are trying to paint between the two.

I seriously doubt that either game is going to suck.
127  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Blade Runner Revisited [spoilers!] on: October 14, 2004, 02:35:10 PM
What a great movie.  Every time I watch it I marvel at the setting and environment.  The music is perfect.  The world is gritty (and 20 years ago this 2017 looked like it could be credible).

I only have the director's cut and have but vague memories of the theatrical release.  What was the footage from The Shining that was recycled?

Send an email to Tom Chick if you are having log in problem.  If you've never logged onto the site before then you may still need to have your account acitvated.

The whole process was quick for me but as I understand it the wait can be awhile.

134  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / No Kohan II posts? on: October 11, 2004, 04:45:11 PM
Sorry I've been out of this thread since the weekend...I've been playing Rome....*cringe*

That said, I may be the only player around that hasn't been totally hooked by it.

I expect that I'll be back in the Kohan rooms tonight looking for games.

Morgul, that game the other night was closer than it would seem.  We were handling those two guys in the east and were almost to a point where we could go on the offensive but things were falling apart elsewhere and morpheus had to go to help.  Once he left it was only a matter of time before I got overwhelmed.

In any case, I'm definitely getting better at the game though I still have a long way to go before I'll be 'good' at it.

Been playing online every night.  Really enjoy it, though this Rome: TW box sure is staring a hole right through me.

Yep, as much as I'd hate to see it go, it's probably best it's dead.  it wasn't worth much any more anyway.  Rich probably fell over in his chair and knocked the server over smile.
