You know the expression wow, and you no doubt have heard of the horrible concept of war.

Well, I think there's a good chance I might prefer the concept over the expression at this stage.

well, the first book would be cool actually on film...that I'm pretty sure of. and if they could round it off nicely, without it being too much of a cliffhanger, that should work with the great unwashed masses as well...

Yeah, the game is freakishly hard at times...especially, since, there is only a definite amount of enemies to "level-up-on" on each map, making it really hard, if you dont survive and gain levels...

Does anyone know what the art style is called? I'm actually looking for some new paintings and would love the same style, but I just cant put my bony finger on what the art style could be called...

sooo...

I've noticed lately, that a lot of people crosspost, and even make us aware of it.

Why do you do so? It kinda seems funny to me, since its the same posts that are here, and on OO, and the same people, and lots of times, the same responses...

should we just go ahead and make a function that posts on both forums at the same time?

btw..this is crossposted over at OO

lets face it - no-matter what they do, it will NOT be the old cast...

so, die-hard trekkies will moan and groan, but those of us just wishing for a great sci-fi adventure set in the Star Trek universe, should at least go into it with an open mind

And personally, I have two dates: Right before the next Star Trek movie launches (May of 2009 if I remember right)

I don't think they could safely rush it out that quickly;  that'd be a 16 month development cycle for a MMO.

sure,. but, 4 years doesnt exactly either make a great MMO everytime... I dont think its a matter of production time, but more production values...

it's ridicously good and cool looking, so yeah, day one purchase for me as well...the gameplay can be hellish if it wants to, as long as I get to drool over the amazing artwork, oozing atmosphere...

its really strange, because, I cant put a finger on the style...its not normal fantasy, nor gothic, its...well, disciples!

Hell, the servers here in europe still crashed 2 years ago, whenever you gathered for some World Pvp.

I remember having organized an RP event, where alliance 6 guilds would start in Stranglethorn together, and the word quickly spread to horde, making a few horde guilds appear as well...or rather, appear, then everything turned to a fotosession, and finally ,the server crashed...

Aaanyways, I've had my share of lootlag, and server crashes, but, all in all, it was a pretty good launch in europe, as I see it.

The thing is...it just seems kinda..empty to me..there's no story, as I can tell? Of course, the fact that I dont really like platformers are a huge impact on my wishes for this title...

If it was a world builder, instead of just a platformgame builder, as I actually thought it was, I'd be interested...

I dont understand what this game's appeal is...

as I see it, there's no story, no game other than a platform thing, and yes, you can make all kinds of stuff, but...really, who really does these things? With all the games available to us today, do we want to make our own game now?

I dont - lost all interest in this now....

edit: oh, and I take bets on how long before someone makes a sexlevel... my guess - 24 hours...

huh? they were a sanctioned order of the church - thats what gave them so much power - they were an integrated part of christian society, which meant a huge vacuum, when the pope declared them heretics. And remember, the only reason they did so, was because of King Philip the 4th owing them such a huge amount of money, thus making it easier to brand them as heretics than pay up...

I'm refering to the folks presently referring to themselves as Knights Templar, instead of the local SCA chapter that they really are.

huh? Why do you think they are so? People cant be heirs to the Knight Templars now? I dont think anyone is claiming to actually BE a knight templar right now...

Interestingly enough, according to wiki, the roman catholic churcs current position is that the persecution was injust, and the templars wrongfully accused. Furtheremore, there's a document, called the Chinon Parchment that says that in 1308 the Pope Clement V secretly absolved the knights templars as well...so, they ARE absolved??

7756  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Knight-Templars heirs sue the pope on: August 06, 2008, 06:58:49 AM
So, in what I think is pretty interesting news, descendants of the Knights Templar order is now suing the pope, for having seized the KT's treasures after the wrongfull accusation of heresy and witchcraft in 1307.

Interestingly enough, although the amount is around 1 billion dollars in regulated money, they dont want money, but just want the name of the order and their forefathers cleared.

I can only link to the danish article , unfortunately

http://jp.dk/udland/europa/article1403821.ece

One thing I thought about when reading this, is, how can you be a descendant of an order?? I mean yes, the man, but the order? no!

I'm assuming those who are suing are nobles though, since they are probably pretty much the only ones with a proven and well enough documented heritage to go back 700 years... I mean,  I barely know who my grandparent where...

I do wonder how the catholic church responds to this, seeing as they have to admit that the killing of a lot of men was wrongfull, and only done to appease King Philip the 4th. (and NOT because of the whole grail thing, conspiracy nuts!)

edit: found an english article describing this:

The way I look at it is that half of the movies he's put out are based on games.. games that otherwise would have never seen the light of day for a movie. So what has anyone lost? Nobody else was going to do an Alone in the dark movie (which was also pretty good) or a Bloodrayne movie.. but Uwe stepped in and did what nobody else would.

I am an Uwe basher, and proud of it. and, Alone in the Dark a decent movie?? It was a piece of garbage, boring, pretentious and with so many plotholes, missing stuff and idiocy it was a pain to watch. And hey, dont just take my word for it, check out its IMDB score...

while he does make movies, that alone doesnt make me "respect" him in any way, since the movies are horrible in my opinion. All it seems that he's doing, is using the tax shelter money, to ruin game franchised movies - is that worthy of respect?

I just finished the MGS IV last night - cool game - now, I've never played any of the other games, but wonder if if would be worth it, now that I know how MGS IV ends...

The first games, are they worth playing, graphichal wise? while I'm no graphicswhore, I still feel that the graphics ARE an important part of a game, especially one such as the metalgear series.

I found a MGS 3 box, some sort of updated game, cant remember the name of it, with "enhanced camera controls", and some sort of online play - anyone know if that game is worth getting?
