Perfect timing. By the end of October, they'll be a bunch of games I'll want to buy (Grand Theft Auto, Mortal Kombat, Fable, etc). The deal applies to all games right?

I just wanted to chime in to say that I also miss the R&P forum and would love to have it here. As mentioned above, GG was the one-stop-shopping place because I could read about everything under the sun; having to find a new forum just for politics would suck. And frankly, I think some of the best threads GG produced came from political and/or religious discussions (at least, the most intelligent and thought provoking threads).
Plus, it seems that some political discussions would be unavoidable. If the current bad on R&P remained, would all threads on Nov. 3 mentioning the election be locked? What about if someone starts a thread about something interesting that happened to them that day that involved religion? Would that be locked, too? What if Bill Clinton has a heart attack and dies? Can we not have any threads about that? At the very least, I think that some discussion of current political events should be allowed even if a seperate forum specifically for those discussions is not created.

You'll need to get your gaming in before 9:00, Captain Caveman; The television is hereby reserved so that I can watch the debate. I know, I know, I'm a spoilsport, but look on the bright side - now you other guys won't have to wait 45 seconds after each race for CC for finish up! :p

Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / [FFL/NFL] Brett Favre and FFL Trade Question

The trade might not be a bad idea if you are pretty sure your season is over. While I'd rather have Johnson and Farve right now than Lewis and Delhomme (mainly since Lewis is out for the next three weeks), Lewis is probably a better keeper than Johnson.
If you still have hope for this year, however, I think the trade would pretty much doom you to not making the playoffs.

Unfortunately, the injury bug has started to hit the Lions pretty hard. It looks like Williams might have a high ankle sprain (an MRI is scheduled for today), while Rogers, Jones, and Bly are already out. Though I'm not a Lion's fan, it's nice to see them win some games. The Panthers, on the other hand, aren't doing so hot. Unlike last year, we keep making stupid plays at the end of the game that cost us. That unsportsman like penalty that put us out of FG range with a couple of minutes left possibly cost us the game. Plus, injuries to Smith, Davis, and now Foster have taken a pretty heavy toll. Unless we have a major tournaround, tt doesn't look like we're going to make it back to the playoffs.

Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Anyone else having problems with Gone Gold?

Wow, that would really suck if GG was, well, gone. Like Ertic, it was really the only site I posted regularly on. What is there now to distract me from work? Where will I be able to see the Republican viewpoint? Where else can I read interesting and educational posts and at the same time see references to goatse and tub girl? Tis a sad day if GG is no more.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Mortal Kombat Deception

Don't forget the other side game - Puzzle Kombat - a Super Puzzle Fighter-esque game with MK characters. I'm actually more interested in these two side games than the regular game. Me too. I think that Puzzle Kombat is Live enabled also. Can't wait to use my Super Puzzle Fighter skillz (that's right, I used a "z" baby! ) to pwn some Gone Golders online.....

Yeah, but another part of me doesn't want to be paying for another X-Box Live subscription. We don't need two in one house. If there's anything the PS2 online stuff did better, it was only more than one user to be reigstered on the same account. Oh well. Maybe it's best if I'm not in the league. I'll just have to live vicariously through my brother....

I don't know if I'll be able to play. I'd like to but my brother (Captain Caveman) and I share one X-Box Live connection. As far as I know, there's no way for me to have a seperate user-name and I don't know if one user can sign up for two teams (otherwise, I would just play under my brother's name). Does anyone know of a way to fix that? I suppose I could try to find a free two month subscription to Live....

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / ESPN 2K5 League [Serious Players Only] - Team request

Well, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to play in the league. Apparently, X-Box Live only allows one username per account. Since I live with my brother (Captain Caveman) and signed up for Live, I don't know how I would be able to get my own username. I suppose, of course, that I might be able to play under his name (i.e. he plays the Panthers' games and I play the Ravens' games, though both would be played under his username), but I'm not sure if ESPN will allow one username to control more than one team in a league.
I guess another option is to set up another Live account under my name (with a free two month code if I can find one), though I'm not sure if that would work either. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.

Is it possible for two members of the league to live in the same house? If need be, we can just play our head-to-head games offline and then have the loser forfeit. If so, I'll be in also. My bastard brother already took the Panters, so I guess I'll take the Vikings. If someone else wants them though (as in, they've always been your favorite team), I don't mind taking some other team (preferably the Ravens or the Falcons).

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / My undying love for Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo

SPFT2 is one of my favorite games of all time. I bought it when it first came out for the PS1, but two years ago I made the grave mistake of selling it on EBAY for $75. The moment it was gone I regretted selling it. I searched for the last two years in every used game store for it without success. But just two weeks ago, I found it used at a Blockbuster for only 7 bucks! The game does have some luck to it (like all puzzle games), but a skilled player can always overcome luck (at least in a two person game). Playing against the computer, though, misses out on half the fun; to really enjoy the game, it has to be played with friends. Now if only they would make an update of the game with an online mode.....
