By a 2-1 margin, voters think Mr. Obama will best rival Mitt Romney in the three presidential debates that begin in Denver Wednesday, according to a poll by Quinnipiac University. A national survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press comes to a similar conclusion; it found 51% of voters think Mr. Obama will win the first debate and 29% think Mr. Romney will.

The polls are close, with Obama's lead being within the margin of error in most polls. Even CNN's poll is within the margin of error.
You're talking about national polls (which are within the margin of error) while everyone else is referring to the state-by-state polls. National polls mean nothing with the electoral college. And the states that are most important (Ohio, Florida, Virginia), Obama is ahead by more than the margin of error. Romney could win the national vote by 3% and still lose the election.
I wonder if anyone has looked at the correlation between a game's Gamestop's pre-order #s and GameInformer's review score (or perhaps more informative, the ratio of a game's GameInformer's review : overall Metacritic score).

Time to get out the old paper bag, I guess. I didn't have high hopes for this year with Sean Payton out, but I didn't think they'd be 0-4. I guess on a high note, this game against the Packers was the best looking performance from them.
12-4, 11 -5 & 10-6 is still good enough for a play off spot in the NFC I think. Don't give up hope yet
I'm not sure 10 - 6 will cut it this year. Unless something crazy happens, the Falcons will win the NFC South. That means that NO has to pick up a wild card spot. The teams they will likely be competing for a wild card spot will possibly be, in no particular order, 1)Arizona (I'm assuming San Fran still wins the division), 2)Seattle, 3)Minnesota, 4) Chicago, 5)two of NYG, Eagles, and Cowboys. Could they have a better record at 10 -6 than a few of those team? Sure. Will they have a better record than four of those teams at 10 - 6? Doubtful.

Did I run into a bug last night or am I missing something. I had the pizza delivery request and when I got there:
Spoiler for Hiden:
I fought a few of the "ninja turtles" and then they all disappeared. They were still yelling at me and my character would still occasionally say something like "Here comes a badass", but no more enemies appeared. Worse, there was no place to go and I was stuck in that little circular room. I had to kill myself to warp out.
Any ideas?
Spoiler for Hiden:
They should attack you one at a time, when one has a certain amount of health depleted he fucks off to be replaced by the next 'Turtle',then when you have gone through all 4 they all attack you as a group with their health still as they were when they left you individually
that is what should happen anyway
Spoiler for Hiden:
NOTE: There is a 5th as well
Thanks - I went back there today and it worked like it was supposed to. Those guys couldn't stand up to my Turret Power.

I would be down for some co-op on the 360 (RalphWiggumOO's the name). I'm not sure if I have a headset, though, so don't get mad at me if I ain't talking.
"I know a lot of my friends who are just drinking a jug of milk for their lunch. And they are not getting a proper meal," middle school student Samantha Gortmaker told Keloland.com.
Samantha then added, "On a completely unrelated note, after lunch I've seen kids puking all over school".

Potentially dumb question... If I have two weapons with roughly equal stats, but one is an fire and one is just plain, is there any reason to prefer the plain over the fire? I'm thinking the fire is a bonus, so otherwise it's comparing apples to apples. Is this true?
Generally, the fire one will do more damage (have to look at the elemental bonus and not just the base damage). However, in my limited playing time it seems as if most elemental weapons use twice as much ammo as the regular ones. And ammo definitely seems to be at a premium in this game.

"I don't think it's a frivolous objection," Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach told the Topeka Capital-Journal. "I do think the factual record could be supplemented."

As mentioned above, the battery life on my Touch is shit. I'm not actually convinced it's the battery and not a memory problem, though, since sometimes it will work for at least 30 minutes unplugged with apps running and other times it turns off as soon as I remove it from the power charger. The left side of my touch screen is also not sensitive any more. And just recently my Touch has decided that it won't adjust the screen direction when the Touch is tilted. So all in all it's fair to say that my 3G Touch is on its last legs. Perhaps the newer versions are made of hardier stuff, though. In my Touch's defense, however, I have dropped it on hard surfaces multiple time and even though it was in a case, I don't think the case offered much protection. Plus, I live in Florida so my Touch gets damp simply from sitting around.
edit: Oh and sound only comes out of one ear when wearing headphones (this happens with even brand new headphones).
Whoo hoo for new iPod Touch! Especially with all those new features. Makes me feel justified for waiting for so long (my current Touch has been near death/partially broken for a few months). Too bad I'll have to wait until October to get one.
But I'm definitely going to spring for an extended warranty this time. Based on my experience and from talking with a few other people with iPod Touches, they seem to have about a 2 year half life. Luckily, Amazon has some pretty cheap extended warranties available (unlike Best Buy where they cost 1/3 the price of the device).

So far unimpressed.. Wanted a larger screen..
It has a larger screen.

Please, please, please let them announce a new iPod Touch. I don't think my old one can take much more abuse (and already shuts down by itself practically every time I try to use it when it's not plugged in).

I'm not sure I get the hate for Face/Off, either.
To be clear, Face/Off wasn't the only movie I was commenting on (I actually enjoyed Face/Off for what it was - an action movie that makes no sense if you think about it for more than thirty seconds).

Also Face/Off and We Were Soldiers. The latter being the best war movie ever. The former, being what I remember as just a great film top to bottom. Wonder if it holds up.
Michelle's speech was hit out of the park. I'm looking forward to Clinton's speech tomorrow, but unfortunately it coincides with the first NFL game of the season...
I think Walt was shocked. I don't think he envisioned himself killing Mike and the fact that he did it out of anger and frustration was shocking to himself. This is the first time that Walt can't use safety or his family as a justification for killing someone.

Spoiler for Hiden:
my wife and I really thought mike shot himself...others/ many seem that Walt DID shoot him. Wtf?!?
Spoiler for Hiden:
Walt shot Mike. Here's a video with the cast and crew talking about the scene.

Anyone else think what i thought??? And my wife???
In a word, no.
Spoiler for Hiden:
Did you guys both happen to miss the part where Walt walks up to Mike's car with a gun and shoots him? You even see the car window break from the outside in when the shot is fired.
The show has always been bad, but at least the first few seasons were bad in a fun way. This last season was just terrible. Too many side plots, terrible writing, ridiculous action (seriously, that slow flying stake throwing scene from last night was like something from a low budget 70s movie), character decisions that are seemingly arbitrary, etc., etc. The vampire authority that everyone feared and talked about in hush tones in the previous seasons just turned out to be a bunch of squabbling douchebags sitting around a table in some ridiculous underground bunker. It doesn't help that I always watch True Blood after seeing the week's Breaking Bad - the difference in quality is striking.
Ever wanted to do the whole "Wizard of Oz/Dark Side of the Moon" viewing but thought it would be a pain in the ass to set up? Well, all the work has been done for you.
The Diane Rehm show talked about guns the other day. I may be getting this wrong but I think they said that in the 70s, 1/2 people owned guns. Now it's 1/3. However, the people that own guns own more guns now than they used to. Stockpiling is in.
I just did some Googling and it looks like it was around Myrtle Beach, SC. That's a bit surprising because I don't remember seeing grass flats like that the last time I was in Myrtle Beach, but it's been awhile.
