I have Dawn of War, boxed and complete. New.

I'd like Doom 3 and Far Cry for it.

Thats a little too steep.  I did consider it though.  I don't think I want to trade Farcry, Doom3 or VTM:B in combination with each other.

I can still 2-4-1 if you have another offer.  Thanks for the reply
449  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Looking for Warhammer:Dawn of War on: February 16, 2005, 06:30:53 AM
I have these to trade for it and would prefer a boxed copy(all complete):

Farcry
Doom3
VTM:Bloodlines
NWN Platinum
Rise of Nations
The Suffering
Gothic II

In trying to get into the Exchange while running a mission for Czerka Corp. and I'm supposed to secretly meet with some arms dealers in apt. B3 and come alone.  I switch to solo mode when approaching the apt. door but the message reads that I am still not alone.  Even if I leave my party members on the other side of the area, the message still reads that I must come alone and I cannot get in to finish the mission.  Since I can't leave my party members in another area(beyond a load screen) I don't see how this is going to work?  Is this a bug or am I missing something?

456  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / RTW:1.2 patch-any problems?-cause I do... on: February 08, 2005, 04:39:50 AM
I had to install the latest patch(1.2) to play RTW online.  Now I'm getting a crash to desktop during the rebel turn of the campaign game(could be any point, but irreversible).  It so far has ruined two of my games and erased about 30hrs of game time.  I seem to remember there being a fix for this in the earlier days but am not sure how to get it now or if it even applies anymore.

Anyone else having this problem with the 1.2 patch installed?  This game is going in the can if I can't fix this.

--This might also be the ol' corrupt save game bug too.  Its been a long time since the game has f'ed up like this so I don't really remember and it only started again after installing 1.2

I put this one down for a bit while playing some other titiles and now I can't remember what I'm susposed to be doing.  I just recently aquired the Tarot card using girl and am now in  the Rhondda(sp?) mines.  I've already got the lantern and I think maybe I have fought the crazy chick that summons creatures.  Actually, come to think of it I may have completed the Mines,  its just where I happened to save.  Where do I go now and what am I doing?  I wish there was a proper way to keep track of what you're supossed to be doing in this game but otherwise I'm really enjoying it.  Any help?

Bands that have broken before their time and you just weren't finished with them. (Be it because of death or otherwise)

Mine:

Alice in Chains-between Cantrells writing/guittar and Staleys unique voice I don't think I've ever encountered a band with such dark emotional impact.  Dirt was my favourite album, though I listen to Jar of Flies as I write this.

Headstones-Rock and Roll at its best.  A combo of Canadians and Yanks made some of the best R&R you could see for 15$ a pop.  I went to see them every time they came to Ottawa/Toronto.  I had just moved out west when I heard they had broken up and was quite dismayed to realize I'd never see them here in Victoria-or ever again.
(if your a fan of Three Days Grace, they once opened for Headstones under their old band name "Groundswell" at a place called The Pines in Bridgenorth, ON.

I also miss Soundgarden.  I'm not nearly as impressed with CC's new job with former RATM members.

What are yours?
473  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / name this game-C64 era on: December 19, 2004, 07:19:08 AM
I never owned the official version(everything was cracked in those days) but the jist of this game was that you piloted some kind of space craft.  Your mission was to contain very aggressive space viruses in order to acquire certain components to power some kind of system.  Basically, the game played as follows:

You start on a "mothership" and pilot your craft to a launch zone where you can pick approx. 16 or so areas to attempt containment of these space viruses.  The music was pretty cool too.    You basically had to outwit a different kind of virus to obtain a piece of the component to the mothership you were after.

I know I'm being vague about the plot of the game but I never really knew why you were trying to obtain these pieces.  There were a few viruses I could not get past so I never realized my true destiny.  Anyway, that was one of the first space type games I ever played  and rather enjoyed.  If anyone can remember this one I would really like to remember its name.

In game balance terms, Carthage gets a weak starting hand in the basic game.  You can win as them, but it's a pretty tough game.

In addition to what Turtle said I usually try to launch a small offensive in Spain if I can spare the troops.  Corboba is fortunately a good base of operations and can reinforce itself if I remember correctly.  At the very least do all you can to avoid losing Cordoba since it can bring you in some good trade money.  The Spanish have some decent troops, but the lay of the land down south makes your city very defensible and you should be able to hold it pretty easily.

If you keep having trouble, you might look into the Total Realism mod.  Besides balancing the starting factions a little better, balancing the long term game, and matching the AI routines up better with each nation, it also adds a lot of realism to the game (duh smile).

Here's a link to the list of features as well.

This would be a cool mod to try by the sound of it.  Unfortunatley, I'm not able to download it because the links seem to be broken.

After a person goes through the character creation one time can we PLZ be able to skip that on alternate characters? That was a gripe of MW. I loved making and trying so many new characters but geez did having to go through that over and over suck.

you didn't have to go through the lengthy question process every time in Morrowind.  if you know what kind of character you want, all the profiling questions can be skipped and you can enter custom specs in just a couple minutes time...

I think he means the whole walk through the boat tutorial.  That became a bit tiring the 5th or 6th time through.  It would have been nice to just have the option of going right into the census office.

There are a few mods out there that allow you to skip right over that part and right into character creation.

Just another thing, I liked to be able to get in a fight and then take a break and have a smoke.  Or even better, arriving in the Old Camp(G1) at night after a long fight-fest and sitting around the fire with the townspeople.  You light up a Northern Dark and pull out a lute and start strumming away.  It really rounds out the game to be able to do stuff like that and is one of the things about the series that really puts it in my top favourites as RPGs go. Someone said it earlier but G1 and G2 are also among the few RPGs I've played straight through within a few months.

Huzzah for the difficulty setting option.

I'm going through G2 at the moment and am getting killed on a regular basis, making it difficult to advance the plot.

This is an indicator that you should play slower. Make a level or two and spend it in Str and a sword skill.
How far in the game are you? Do you have 65 Str? You can get a good weapon early on with this requirement.

Agreed.  Focusing on strength+one of the swords skills you can really get a good weapon swing combo which really makes defending yourself easier.  I still got my ass handed to me for quite a while but it gives you a fighting chance early on-even with a weaker weapon.  IIRC, you can't fight as well from the start in G2 as you can in G1 either.

Perhaps I missed it but, how far along is Gothic 3?
