In case you were holding off this one till it was cheap.  That was for the cd version, not sure if the DVD is the same or not.

I just hope that the $9 price tag isn't because these copies of Prey come with no disc 2 and two disc 3's like mine did. retard

What an awful game.  The Ducks killed but the game was pretty boring.  The Sens looked tired and uncoordinated overall.  Not impressed am I.  Now we get to go back to Anaheim down 3-1.  Yay.

My wife and I were vacationing during the finale episode and forgetting to set the VCR was the token thing I forgot to do before leaving.

I know it hasn't been a great season but we gotta finish it!  I would love to get my hands on it if anyone has it.

Awesome.  The Sens looked good, though at times they seemed kind of non chalant about puck possession and gave it up easily.  Still, way to steal home ice away again!  Wooo!

I just watched the Buffalo/Ottawa brawl again on Youtube.  I think I might watch it before every game now. nod

That's our male to female ratio.

I see that one, Mr. Mike Dunn is 'Marketing Manager' for the site.  Where's his plan to address this gap?

So we're doing well in the core demographic, one can assume- perhaps too well.  But what about de weemen (how much for)?

They do make up 51% of the world or something...

I think Mike needs to put his fancy artist tools down and start crunching some numbers. GT could benefit from a feminine touch...(if a dirty joke popped into your head at reading 'feminine touch' that's just more support for the argument).

And don't think the man at the top, one Mr. Ronald "McDonald" Burke, is without blame.  How this has gone on for so long without being addressed is beyond me.

Are you kidding?  He brings women every sunday.

Thanks - I wanted the Devils bias in there for the first one because it adds the element that I actually care what's going on and not just going through the motions.

When the Devs get bounced, there won't be as much of a bias, but I, at least need a rooting interest...

It was a bit tough to kick off before the games actually start because I didn't want to get too stat heavy and deep into it without something real to compare it to.

It might take some time, but I appreciate the feedback as I work to get the whole thing down.

Reality is much harsher than the video game.  Lets see if the Sens can capitalize on that PP starting 3rd period. Tongue

Oh, and with the current versions once you go into the power plant from Pripyat apparently you cannot go back, so you want to make sure to have a savegame right before you enter just in case you decide you didn't stock up on the right items.  Of course, exiting Pripyat to go back to the Red Forest may be an adventure in itself.....

Make damn sure you have a save game before the Power Plant, as not only can't you get back, but you can get to choose between a bunch of endings if you still have that save handy.

 icon_eek

I read this thread 10 minutes too late.  I got a little trigger happy with the quick saves and am now stuck in the power plant wearing bums rags and no way to get back.  No health packs are my biggest problem right now.  Anyone have a save game?

194  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / [MUSIC CONCERTS)Who have you seen and who do you wish you could see? on: April 12, 2007, 01:38:00 AM
I'm coming to realize that I haven't been to enough music concerts.  I've never had a bad time a a concert, and wish I could get to more.

I've seen Radiohead(f*ing awsome in concert), The Tragically Hip(Good 'ol coked up Canadian boys) a few times, The Headstones, and System of a Down during the tour they did with the release of Toxicity.  I felt as if I had been drug into an alley and had the shit beaten out of me after that concert.  Awesome.

I've also seen about five songs of a Nickelback concert.  It was a gift from mother in law(god bless her for trying) to myself, wife, brother in law and bro in laws friend.  Bro in law grew a 'Nickelstache' for the concert as a joke.  We ended up drinking in Wok with Yans former condo until the concert was almost over and showed up during that 'pants around your feet' song(blech).  Yes, some (if not many) Canadians hate Nickelback.

I still want to see Nine Inch Nails.  I've always liked their stuff and am glad that Trent is still making it work.  Right now Survivalism is stuck in my head beside Wish.

I'd also like to see Beck.  I've always liked a few aspects of his music.  I just never seem to be in the right place at the right time.

I'd love to see Radiohead again too.

Any kind of concert will do.  I'm kind of hoping this will turn into a music thread where I can find out about other music out there.  I've come across a lot of music tastes here and have gotten into some stuff other people have talked about.

Oh yeah, and Ron, what is the name of that Rush song where the base guitar starts out do-do-do-do-doodle-dooodle-do-do-do-do-do-doodle-doodle-do?

I will probably buy it and watch it again buy only once I've watched Firefly.  Was there only one season or is it more like a miniseries?  I suppose I could actually use the internet myself to find out.

Hetz, what kind of system are you running QTP3 with?  I was under the impression that it was PC suicide without having a videocard with 512megs of VidMemory.

You pretty much had to have it, as the texture requirement in places became a couple hundred megs, at least. The big issue is that it drastically increased loading times around the world. It wasn't too bad, but if you factored in the loading time every time you went into and out of a house...

It sure looked great though. Amazing, really.

I'm using an AMD Dual 4400, 2 gig ram, and a 7800GTX 256mb card and have it installed.  I'm getting anywhere from 10-35fps in towns(Chorrol hits hard-all that cobblestone) and 20+ in wilderness.  Load times are usually longer when fast traveling.  Battles with multiple monsters sometimes stutter but thats usually with 4+ attacking you at once. It looks awsome though, and the performance hit wasn't PC killing by any means.  For me anyway.
197  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: No wife tonight-my movie pick. Rented Serenity. on: March 25, 2007, 08:12:05 AM
Well, I quite enjoyed that.  I can see that watching Firefly would have fleshed out the characters more as well as better explaining a lot of things but on its own is still good. I will be picking up Firefly.

Wasted your money, bro.

Dude, first Blade Runner, now Serenity?! What alien species are you? icon_wink

well, Blade Runner was pretty meh.  As for Serenity?  That's just crazy talk.

I....please tell me you are just young and haven't seen the original theatrical cut of Blade Runner.  Please tell me you are referring to the Director's Cut which committed the horrible sin of trying to fix something which wasn't broken.  Please....!

Between the two, I actually prefer the Director's Cut because it drops the horrible narration but it doesn't make the movie a whole lot better. As for Serenity, I think it did a disservice to the fans and to the show on a number of levels not the least of which being a generic action film. Oddly enough, I think that Serenity and Mission Impossible 3 confirmed something for me - Joss Whedon should stick to TV and JJ Abrahms should stick with movies because both suck in the opposite format. Whedon knows how to string out a story and make it compelling because he wants to do so much whereas Abrahms doesn't have the fortitude to keep his stories going long-term.

Firefly was a solid show with a lot of promise of great things in the future, and Serenity crapped all over that by being the same film we've seen since forever. "Oh, but Whedon had to condense an entire season down into just two hours! Cut him some slack!" Sorry, kids, that's the nature of the beast. If he only had two hours to continue the show then he should have continued the show instead of ending it on the spot by trying to condense two or three seasons worth of material down into two hours. Had the relevant characters died over time then that would be one thing, but since they were killed off so quickly one need only look at their respective character types to peg it as rote cliche. It would have been the same cliche if spread out over time, but it would have been far more bearable if one had died in one film and the other died in the next one. This again is a massive disservice to the fandom that kept the dream alive for as long as they did.

Firefly is over and Serenity was strong for the first third and awful for the remaining 2/3. Let it go, people, and move on to something else.

/rant over

I had a similar thought.  When Wash bought it I thought "Did they just kill off a longtime character?"
It seemed silly to me.

Still, entertaining, funny in spots, Mal is cool.  Glad I picked it up.

The only time I can really watch any good Sci-Fi is when shes on a nightshift. Going to watch it after a bit of gaming tonight.

I never followed Firefly but was intrigued by the discussion about Serenity when it was released(a few years ago now?).  I'm hoping the movie stands on its own and I don't miss much having not watched the TV series. That said,  would the TV series be worth a buy?  I just finished watching the BSG series up to season three and am looking for more space sci fi.

I've got a bug in Oblivon where the game dosen't teleport me out of Oblivion when I grab the Sigil stone.  The beam in the Sigil tower also remains although the stone appears in my inventory. I'm using these mods:

Francescos mod(withh all the bundled extras)
Natural environments, weather, habitats, water
Rens beauty pack
Cosmetic compilation(for the eyes)
Open Cities

It might have something to do with one of the leveled items in Francescos pack as I think they change Sigil Stones as well but I not sure.  My character is a level 26 and this is the second gate I've tried to close(Kvatch worked properly).  Obviously I'm going to lose a lot of game time if I can't fix this.  Its a long shot but if anyone has encountered this PLEEEASE HELP!
