Yeah, yeah, but your game designers were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should.

TBH. Just Cause 2 had DLC, which could be considered micro-transactions.

I expected the same here - but I don't really care - I want to Bionic Commando all over the place all over again!!!

That really urks me.  Come on SE, stop fucking around with this consumer-hating garbage.  First you drop TR2 from a mult-plat to exclusive for money, now you add f2p transactions to an open world game?  If they go this route, then I'll have no trouble skipping your games.

SE, are you trying to top EA for the most hated gaming company?

Consumer hating garbage?

Dude, you really need to look at SE's history with where Final Fantasy has landed - they've never EVER had a problem with swinging on one console or another.

Technically not "allowed" to buy games from now until Dec. 25th due to birthday/Christmas, but I pretty much know that I'll be getting AC: Unity and Master Chief Collection this week. I'll also be getting either Lords of the Fallen or Alien Isolation through the Target B2G1 free promotion.

I'm really going to be stocked up on AAA games by the end of the year. I'm desperately trying to finish up Sunset Overdrive to prepare for the coming flood.

Not loving Sunset Overdrive, TBH.

Also, that MCC collection $10 card applies to digital version too - have it preloaded on XB1. (This was new to me - I looked all over and before they didn't specify digital)

Limit one (1) $10 gift card per qualifying Xbox One or Xbox 360 game purchased for up to three (3) game titles. Expiration dates may apply to redeem your gift code to your Microsoft Account, and then to spend your gift code funds. Gift code funds can only be used for purchases at select Microsoft and Xbox online stores. Must be 13+. Subject to full terms at www.microsoft.com/en-ca/giftcard. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders.

EB called to tell me AssCreed preorder is in. I think I'm going to wave this one off though. I simply have too much to pay a premium for a game I'm unlikely to play right now.

I am a positive person - I am grateful for my life, both for successes and challenges.
I am open to the world, and push positive energy out which reflects and comes back to me. I have faith that these good things will happen (without evidence to prove they will).

God, the universe, the life force, whatever you call it, it reacts to the frequency of your life - the higher the frequency, the better it is.

My faith requires no history lessons, or the indoctrination of my children. Just as both plants and animals which are loved and fed as they grow, feeling and living and loving, the moment we live in is the solely the present.  since we have no tardis to examine the events or motivations of those who've crafted the faiths we hold so dear, I've release myself of the baggage and bondage to the words and ideas of the past.

I have faith that this is the right thing to do.

It doesn`t take too long to level up to 20, but I agree with Roman. There simply is way more compelling gameplay out there. Destiny will eventually be worth playing (assuming their 10yr plan works).

Play this then. Hell, I`d hesitated less to get the Halo MCC than I did with Destiny - I own it only because I had a digital preorder I had forgotten about.

As I said, I want one. I did not specify what markets it`s in. The announcement of it being launched exclusively in five European markets (only ) was released at the beginning of August.

It`s just that it`s an awesome add-on to the console, and I`m hoping to hear it will be coming to North America.

I may even import it, but the problem is the programming on One Guide would be pointless.

I WANT ONE NOW!!!

This is by and far the best thing ever for anyone considering dropping cable. The fact that it can stream to other devices WHILE PLAYING GAMES, and adds buffering for PVR-lite experiences for TV is phenomenal - and you can change quality settings too if that's your thing.

I get two channels right now, and I hate watching them as I have commercials. Now the only thing I'd like to see them expand is allowing a full PVR where I can get the XBONE to record shows I want to watch, so I'm not ruled by broadcast times on free-to-air channels.

As an owner of a 6" phone (Nokia 1520) the only thing I need to remember is pull it out of my pocket before sitting down (with certain pants).

Depending on the pants, sitting can create stress on the phone, though since it isn't aluminum I think the structure fights it better.

Not in this way, and the very, very few times when it has happened (Dark Souls, for example), there was uproar about it, as there should be.

I'm not saying PS4 owners don't have a right to bitch - look at the PS3/360 launch where the NFS game was abysmal on PS3 due to poor dev kits.

I think MS putting the resources around helping developers isn't a bad thing though. I consider that a lesson learned.

It's been a while, but I've returned to form.

I've got a few pics to post, but since (at Christmas last year) being stressed at the death of my relationship and being wildly unhealthy, I went back to the way I ate to lose weight (all carbs coming in form of high fibre and low sugar intake - staying as close to ketosis as I can, and avoiding large glycemic reactions except when desired (aka at the end of a workout).

This is me at E3.
http://gamingtrend.com/2014/06/26/single-player-coming-e3-interview-rainbow-six-siege-dev/

I had plateau'd at 240(ish), for several months over the summer, but lately have been making losses (based on eating only when hungry, and cutting down on cheat events).

I am now thinner than I have been in my adult life (248 at 18). I am now 230, and am still losing more.

I've spoken with a surgeon WRT excess skin- he doesn't want me below 225. Problem is the money, not my concern for scars. I already carry those around daily, and I'd rather be free of all of it.
74  Non-Gaming / Political / Religious Nonsense / Re: Crisis of faith or is it over? on: October 07, 2014, 03:29:50 PM
I'm down to 230, and have gotten much stronger. My one-push max on bench is 4 plates (405lbs) or about 4-5 reps of 365 (my starting bodyweight in 2002). I'm about 7 lbs lighter than I am in that pic (given it was taken more than a month ago).

But that isn't faith. It is revealed and therefore faith is not necessary. Tongue

My faith is that there is a cosmic energy source, of some sort, that responds to positivity. I have faith that good things will happen, and the more I am positive, grateful and optimistic, the more frequently it manifests. I have faith that this is true, and truly forgive others (using compassion) to accept their mistakes, so I don't carry about me their problems.

Windows 8, from a design perspective, was a complete hit. It bravely took us away from shit like rolodexs and 3.5" floppy icons (both devices are irrelevant as anything other than old references to modern function).

Look it up - massive accolades from a visual design perspective - regardless of whether the function was ideally suited to 90+% of their business at the time (non-touch enabled devices).

Sofar I'm enjoying 10. 8.1 was a step in the right direction, and if they manage to get their store to sell desktop apps as well as native windows apps, it could be a tipping point.

I sure hope they have a newer take on the tiles though (keep in mind the 10 is a tech preview, where function is being tested over the visual updates they may bring about).
80  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Windows 10 announced on: October 03, 2014, 07:42:49 PM
Windows 10, in contrast, assumes apps should not be full-screen, which as an owner of a touch-enabled device is a little annoying.

Was using Video yesterday to watch We Are The Millers, and I had to go to the ellipses at the top left and change the setting.

Continuum isn't available yet, but it basically detects your Table PC mode - if you have a keyboard in use (IE connected and usable) it will default to desktop, but if it is disconnected or folded back, it will then use the full start menu.
