You know, with a high-powered sniper rifle, I believe you can actually go THROUGH LD's head to kill the Tango.

16403  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / [360] GRAW Control tips for Multiplayer on: March 10, 2006, 07:27:32 PM
I just wanted to drop people a note (since some of us were looking for this earlier)...

1) To use the camera on the OICW rifle (or any camera rifle) use the LB in conjunction with the left joystick.

2) If you DON'T have a camera-gun equipped, this lets you lean. That's right... you can STILL LEAN in MP GRAW.

3) the directional pad works for controlling the drone. Use it. Help yourself out. You can either use it with the UP/DOWN commands, or hit back (when the drone is on the top-left camera view) and then when you hit UP it will travel to your cursor. Keep in mind, it CAN be shot down.... don't go dropping it into the middle of a fray.

4) RTFM. biggrin (Manuel? isn't that a book about a spanish kid? )

To points 1 and 2: Woot, I Say. Woot indead.

I don't break controllers; I break people.

Fucking Ryu's cheap little low short kicks and then a jump-punch followed by either a hadoken or shoryuken.

Hadoken THIS, BITCH.
16406  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / I don't like bosses. on: March 10, 2006, 02:56:58 PM
The bosses in RE:4 were well-planned out.

The bosses in Ninja Gaiden were (for the most part) challenging.

I still hate mother brain though. Fucking Bitch.
16407  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Burnout Revenge 360 on: March 09, 2006, 06:22:42 PM
I've passed on my copy. I'll pick this one up used (as I played ~40% of the game on the Xbox1).
16408  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Amped 3? on: March 09, 2006, 06:21:45 PM
The underlying game is fantastic. Amped 3 = Amped 2 + easier arcade control. The game is fundementally the same, except you spend less time pissed off because you do the slapstick - stand up, whack head on tree, fall down, stand up, whack head on ... you get the picture.

The major drawbacks to this game is that it is the single most non-Live friendly game. That's really too bad as Amped 2 was one of the most Live friendly games on the Xbox (session host could drop and there would be no inerruption in the game, etc).

The animation is campy and frankly a more than a little overwrought, but other than that it's a blast. I love the fact that you can modify the terrain, you can switch to snowmobile and drive where you need to get to (if you're just below the intended challenge this can be a BIG plus). There is a ton of adrenaline to be had.

Lower Baldy on the second mountain is a freakin' blast. You don't need to butter or carve at ALL to get a 350,000+ combo.

I got one invite, got booted, sent a message to someone saying I got booted and to invite me again, and no one ever did. I was a little miffed to be honest! I played a ton of random multiplayer however, and I can say without a doubt that it has been my favorite live experience so far, eclipsing Halo 1/2.

I'm pretty sure you were getting kicked *on purpose*. biggrin

I got to play 10 minutes of single player.

I've got one thing to say :

Spoiler for Hiden:

Hooray! They included the ability to fucking LEAN!!!

I like the left trigger aiming ... it goes all virtua cop on you as you can now fire at multiple targets without "moving" per se. Also the hide feature is well implemented.

Didnt FF V have a LONG ass sequence for one of the sumons required in the end boss fight?>  The Knights or something like that?

I dont like non skippable movies, nor do I like the idea of FAR between save points.  I have the time to search for something like that, but I dont want my game to be a task just so that I can put it down.

FFVII had Knights of the Round (the rare summon you needed a golden Chocobo to get). It ran a total of about 90sec per cast.

When fighting Emerald Weapon (underwater one that splits in half) I had to cast it a total of about 15 times, among other summons and whatnot.

Didn't download the PGR3 demo yet.
Downloaded the BF2 video; looks keen. I can see myself getting it. Also, it lists a March, 2006 release time. I can't imagine it getting pushed back when they release a video in March 2006 with a March 2006 release date.

as to the "More" bit, I think they released a 720p video of Lost Planet and some new stuff for Gun and a few others. (Burnout Revenge theme and gamerpics)

We'll see. I just wish they'd release 99 Nights on Live as a Demo.

Since we're talking about structure and queries... it would be nice if you guys had the ability to thread the news articles, kinda like gmail. (so we could get an archive of all things oblivion, based on a link in the DB ... but something easy to view and collapse ).

I really like the weighted news idea.

Man, those books had me in stitches back when I was a kid. Bunnicula, The Celery Stalks at Midnight, and the third one (forget the title). That obsessive cat having the dog hold the rabbit down, and beating the chest of the bunny with a sirloin (trying to "stake" the vampire's heart).

After reading that, I'm wondering a couple of things :

1) is one of the conflicts in game where you are a candidate for the president of the united states of america, just lost, and need to find a way to still sieze power? (two-pronged "Call Daddy" & "Question the Florida Vote" is the "Easy" setting on that level)

2) Do they also have the level where you incite riots by using caracatures of a prophet (not even "god" per se) and then making available some of the most obscure european flags for the flag-burning population, and setting up newscasts to show the most heated situations?

I'm actually interested in this game. The more I think about it, the more curious I get. Here's 198 non-violent actions one can take.. #22 & #44 NEED to be done in UNISON! biggrin
