Don't worry... worms aren't that bad.

I dunno, Worms 3D wasn't all that spectacular.

That reminds me, my parent's neighbors kid knew I was into video games, and so he'd always ask me " Do you haff wermth?".I'd say stuff like "Not this week; I just got my prescription filled!"

He was 6; it confused the hell out of him.

And I love puppies, and their pictures. I don't think Dafones was laughing at the situation there sparhawk; he was commenting on the pic.

As to the worms, I wouldn't worry to much about it; let the vet take care of it.

I know what you mean about seeing jewels with your eyes closed.  That happened to me a ton when I was playing that.  Now I see little colored balls due to my Zuma obsession.

So you're pretty much a drooling vegetable when you see all those colored balls in the McDonalds Playland gyms? Or do you dive in and start whipping them at their own colors as quickly as possible screaming "STAY AWAY FROM MY HOLE OF DOOOM!!!"?

Call her up and tell her you want to take her out to lunch.  Pack a picnic, pick her up and drive to Multnomah Falls.  Eat lunch at the top and on the way back down stop at the bridge and ask to take a picture.  Then tell her how pretty she looks, and you are almost guaranteed a kiss.  It sounds super cheesy, but I promise it will work.

OMG I'd be all over that!

Or you could ditch your third date and pick stiffler up... he's easy enough; he just gave away what works on him!!

Tease her a bit on safe stuff (like if she's in excellent shape don't be afraid to tell her to stay away from the cheesecake, clearly it's getting to her)... take her out of her comfort zone, and this makes her attracted to you. Don't go for the cutesy hand-holding unless it's appropriate.

Do some wining and dining, take her out to a club and get her going. Don't go to one club and hang there; catch a few dances, and maybe go do something more intimate.

Stimulate her; if you stay static or seem unsure of yourself you'll fall into the "friend" role. It's the way it goes, it would seem.

Don't ask me why. It works. :: shrug ::

16174  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Is this a TV, DVD Player or DVD Problem? on: May 29, 2006, 03:40:56 PM
My first reaction was to think "Macrovision" on VHS. If that's not the case, I'd suggest running the outputs into a stereo and see if you have the same problem. If so it looks like it's either a DVD/config issue or a connection.

I am assuming you've tried several DVDs on this, right?

I can tell you this: the story is about the war between humans and goblins. There is an event that happens where the world is cast into ninty-nine nights, and whomever is victorious will reign supreme.

N3 was released in Japan in late april and it got a 9,9,8,9 (IIRC) from Famitsu magazine.

In canada it's not-so-long ... but I've got some Black & White 2, replaying Half-Life 2 and Age of Empires 3.

I am also looking into getting more achievements in Dynasty Warriors 5 : Empires, Amped 3 and Oblivion. If I have time... gotta 'till the garden, get some plumbing stuff done and wax philosophical with a buddy of mine on the new Dr. Who episodes.

Oh, and keep the girlfriend happy while writing a registered letter to my soon-to-be-ex as I look for a decent family law lawyer to file the divorce.

Yeah. go into the memory storage on the xbox dashboard and select the hard drive. from there, just delete everything (hit A with the game heading selected).

The other option is to call microsoft and complain about a faulty DVD drive.

For some reason, this constitutes them wiping the hard disk.

WinME was the last iteration of the Win9x line, and the functions they added to it didn't work right (system restore, for instance).

Also, it was incompatible with a percentage of win9x drivers and apps (not a large percent, but there were a few).

WinME should have been released when 98SE2 was release instead.

Here's the full list :

America Online (1989-2006)
RealNetworks RealPlayer (1999)
Syncronys SoftRAM (1995)
Microsoft Windows Millennium (2000)
Sony BMG Music CDs (2005)
Disney The Lion King CD-ROM (1994)
Microsoft Bob (1995)
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 (2001)
Pressplay and Musicnet (2002)
dBASE IV (1988)
Priceline Groceries and Gas (2000)
PointCast (1996)
IBM PCjr. (1984)
Gateway 2000 10th Anniversary PC (1995)
Iomega Zip Drive (1998)
Comet Cursor (1997)
Apple Macintosh Portable (1989)
IBM Deskstar 75GXP (2000)
OQO Model 1 (2004)
CueCat (2000)
Eyetop Wearable DVD Player (2004)
Apple Pippin @World (1996)
Free PCs (1999)
DigiScents iSmell (2001)
Sharp RD3D Notebook (2004)

They don't have the DIVX players that were going to compete with DVD players though... odd.

She wasn't bad looking either, but there's something wrong with the way she thinks. :: sigh :: My current interest only plays tetris, but she plays it better than anyone else I've ever seen. 16188  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Anyone taking Wii Pre-orders? on: May 25, 2006, 04:30:22 PM
EB games will not be doing pre-orders for systems. The "debacle" wasn't necessarily due to numbers availability, but to distribution.

MS , Nintendo and Sony refuse to guarantee alotment to the gamer stores; Wal-Marts get the lions share and thusly the other stores don't see their required percentages. (got this from my local EB Games mgr; he's going to be "taking care of me" when it comes to release time.

The MOBO/CPU have the biggest factor when looking at the hash that is created for WinXP activation.

They may not allow it due to the changes, just a heads up.

You can't directly compare the 360's PowerPC in-order CPU to a general purpose x86 out-of-order execution CPU that ships with most computers today. If you take C code written for a PC and simply recompile it on the 360 its going to run much slower. How well Oblivion performs on the 360 is as much dependant on how much time and reosurces they were able to devote for customizing the engine for the 360.

Except that Bethesda specifically claimed to have done at least something along those lines.

Oblivion on PC brings my PC to its knees when standing next to an oblivion gate ...

I have :

2GB RAM dual channel 3200
AMD Athy64 3800+ X2 (dual core)
7600GT CO
36GB SATA WD Raptor drive (10000RPM) OS & game install
250GB SATA Seagate 9th gen for storage.
24" Dell 16:9 LCD monitor (2405FPW)
Audigy 2 (for now; waiting for the XFI to come down in price)

I'm sure Kathode could explain it better, but as I understand it since the 360 final dev kits came out late, they worked their arses off to try to get them to use the hardware advantages present in the triple core: this doesn't mean it's using all the benefits, just that it's going to perform well.

Check out's Oblivion (PC) tests ... a 7600 GT on a FX60 does 17FPS avg beside a gate with bloom on... 17.

The HD widescreen res you may be running on (with the 360) is likely a factor on the performance; try running it in Low Def at 4:3 aspect and you should see a marked improvement in performance.
16195  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / XB360: Living up to it's spec's? on: May 23, 2006, 06:00:10 PM
OS stands for operating system. The Xbox had a bare OS that was a loader and interfaced with the hardware, but it wasn't uniform (ie you would be disconnected from live for each game you go to load).

The 360 DOES have an OS, and it's a NOS as well (the N is for network). I expect that there will be OS improvements passed down via patches, but ultimately I think it comes down to the fact that games right now aren't fully utilizing multi-core processing.

I would bet only a small percentage of households are on their second PS2.

Europe has not warmed to the Xbox or the 360 the way North America has. There is no guarantee that Microsoft will do well there no matter what the price of the 360 or the PS3.

If the 3rd party titles come out on both platforms and one is much more accessible than the other, you do the math.

As to the small percentage; I can think of 4 people who have had more than one ps2, and I know two others that are on their fourth.

Also, the platform has been out for almost 7 years. Seven. That's a long damned time for a console. That's a lot of time for them to break down. How many electronics devices with moving parts (such as dvd / cd players) do you have in your home that are older than 5 years?
