Spoiler for Hiden:
also, not 100% sure the governor is dead. They did not show the actual headshot. She might have flinched at the end.

Spoiler for Hiden:
After being run clean through with a sword and left in a field of zombies, I think the only question is whether the Gov is going to be eaten or zombified, or if he was spared both of those fates. While it's true that we didn't see the coup de grace, I'll be very surprised if he comes back after that.

Speaking of not seeing the body, though, are we sure that Little Asskicker is dead? We saw a bloody carseat, but no actual baby bits (unless I missed that). It's possible that Weird Girl or some other child got the baby onto the bus.
Spoiler for Hiden:
I don't think the baby is dead, but that was a lot of blood..

In the Talking Dead after show, the governor was included in the "in memorium" segment which confirms he is dead.
Spoiler for Hiden:
I don't know if that really confirms it though. I am pretty sure the Talking Dead guys don't really have a lot of inside info, so they could be basing in memorium only on what they see on the show. That being said, I do admit it is a long shot for the Gov, but stranger things have happened on TV

1st one is an i7 other 2 are i5's.
There are more systems from best buy available for more money, but I kept the price down in case you needed to upgrade the video card separately...

Are there any good computer shops near you? or local tech support guys? If so, maybe they could build one for you. As mentioned, not too much has changed from building a system.. Biggest PITA is getting all the cables wired neatly...

Thanks Punisher, that's helpful.  We have a couple local shops (PC Laptops being the big one), but they've always seemed crazy overpriced.  I've actually been pretty happy with this Dell, but have been kicking around the idea of an upgrade.

Biggest challenge for those out of the hardware loop is figuring out what components in these new systems are significantly better than what I have, especially when it comes to graphics cards & processors.
Local shops CAN be hit or miss, but it doesn't hurt to get pricing from them for comparison. Also see how much they would charge to build a system if you provided the parts. Depending on the system, I would usually charge around $150 when I built them. This was labor only as I never charged extra for parts. the only thing with this way is warranty/tech support. If they don't provide parts you will have to go through the manufacturer for warranty.
As per your original symptoms, have you thought about just wiping and reloading the OS?

a 760GT OC is a great start, and gives you lots of room in your budget for an SSD, an Intel P5 (Haswell), 8GB of RAM and a decent PSU and case. Unless you care about BD on your PC, recycle the DVD drive and your old hard drive as a place to store slower access files.
he's looking for a pre-built system which generally means little recycling.. That's why I asked what stores he had near him, to see what kind of gaming options he has for pre-built.

I've got a 4.5 year old Dell Studio XPS 7100 that I threw a GF 250 card into.  It's been a good system, but is getting a little long in the tooth and has started having all sorts of small random issues that are driving me nuts (video playback problems, Quicktime won't work, MS Office has to reinstall every time I try to use it, newest Nvidia drivers won't install, etc., etc).  Been thinking about an upgrade anyways, figured now is as good a time as any.

Problem is, I'm completely out of the hardware loop these days so building one is out of the question.  I've got about $900-$1,000 I can spend on it, wondering what the recommendations would be in that price range.  I can probably still figure out how to install a better video card if needed, but that's about the extent of my hardware capabilities these days.  smile

I (obviously) don't need the ultra-awesome latest and greatest.  This current system actually still plays nearly everything I need at 1920 X 1080, but I'm looking for some sort of mid-range-ish system that'll get me through the next 4-5 years.  TIA.

What stores do you have near you?

Any reason for this?  Often in cartoons when  character is killed off it is because the voice actor died or something.

Well, the voice actor is MacFarlane himself (also the voice of Stewie and Peter), so I imagine the show would die with him if that happened.
Actually, I hear that the meds started kicking in and the Brian personality of his did die!

Whedon's team is in place.  And they are very connected to him, some by blood.  His level of direct involvement may be limited, but his DNA is all over it still.

Anyone else catch the Dollhouse reference in that recent episode?  "Did I fall asleep?"  "For a little while..."  Tongue

Side note: was checking out the end of Avengers, and watching just how incredibly kick-ass Scarlett is.  She bounces herself on to an alien flying motorcycle while kicking all sorts of alien ass.  Don't forget in theory she's just a human SHIELD agent, Hawkeye too.

So. I have an unopened Day One edition (Black Box) that I am planning on returning. It was pre-ordered a while ago, but my financial situation has changed, so it has to go. This will be returned probably early Wednesday afternoon, but I figured I'd see if someone here might want it first.
"Rules"
1) Only available to established members with a good history (determined by me. not referring to arguments or anything, but I will check with the trading forum to see if there are any past issues)
2) Price +shipping +PayPal fees (I believe you can send as a gift and you pay fees directly)
3) If nothing happens by 4PM EST Tuesday 11/26/2013, I am canceling this and returning it.
4) Reply to this post with your interest and price
5) Need payment by Wednesday 11/27/2013 @ 12Noon EST
6) Shipping will be via UPS for tracking purposes. You tell me how fast you want it and I'll get a price.

I paid $535 including tax, so that is the price I am asking (plus #2 above). If someone wants to offer more so be it. Not an auction or anything, but basically, when I check back in here the next time (probably a few hours or so), best offer takes it.
First time doing this here, so if I am doing something wrong please let me know.
In the event that there is a problem with accepting multiple offers, then the first person with an offer of asking price or higher to post gets it.

To be honest, I hesitated even posting this as it would be much easier to just return this at the store 4 blocks away, but I figured, someone here might really want one still.

While I was out walking her one afternoon I ran into a family that was hanging out in their drive-way with their daughter. As I was passing them from across the street the little girl started to cry and shouted "That's a badass doggy!" The parents encouraged her fear by saying, "Yes that is a badass doggy." *sigh*

I haven't run into any major issues yet.
The article is correct about then pics look and dialog..
I too miss autopilot, but mostly because I used for drink and bathroom breaks.
There are definately bugs, but again, nothing major for me.. I also expected bugs, just like every other game in the series ( and most large and complex games). Only about 2 hours in so far and still in tutorial mode, but I do like it.

Yeah, even with the improved tutorial, there is a steep learning curve... Definately need to read the manual.. and again, the tutorial is only decent.. As I mentioned, there are issues with it.. The manual does seem to have more details, but haven't given it a detailed look yet..
191  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC] X-Rebirth on: November 15, 2013, 05:52:00 PM
Quick impressions..
Graphics look great for the most part. I'm having some shadow issues where some of them are SUPER jaggy. Have all graphics settings maxed out and runs good for the most part, some lag here and there.
No jump drive here. using the new highway system... I think it is kind of cool, but I do like jump drives better.. mostly because the highway system itself is kind of a mini game, so you have to pay attention... Seems like the highways go one way each. While on the highway, there are times where it just ends where you need to be, but also times, you have to pay attention and take the "exit", so, just like a real one, you can miss you exit it looks like (haven't actually done so yet). there is an on screen prompt showing distance to exit though. There is also a way to speed up in the highway by slipstreaming other ships. it's not required, so you can skip that part, it will just take longer to get where you are going. (be careful, you can move too far while trying to slipstream and exit the highway accidentally. Not a huge deal since you just have to turn around and get back on, just adds time.
This version has improved in the tutorial parts, but still leaves something to be desired as the prompts sometimes leave too quickly and at times are also either confusing or missing info. (like targeting)
My joystick isn't working as expected, but it is probably a configuration issue. (it defaults to up,down, left, and right strafing, instead of the usual pitch/yaw)
I've got just about an hour into the campaign only, but so far so good.

This could be a couple of things..
1) They really didn't know.. In many cases in retail, only a few people actually know details about what is going on..
2) They have extras, but don't know if they will actually be extra after the employees get dibs.
3) they could actually be getting their truck tonight or early AM. Or the truck is in the back but not unloaded yet.

Anyone know how to transfer data if you swap HDD at a later date?

I would like to know this, too.  I've watched a few of these HDD swaps, but no one mentions transferring the info.
I would assume it's the same or similar to the PS3.
You use a usb flash drive with the built in Playstation backup software, pop the new drive in, then restore from said flash drive. It was easy to do, but time consuming..IE: hours...

This should surprise... nobody....

But it is good news.. IIRC there have been a few articles stating that any technology backed by the porn industry becomes pretty advanced and dominant.. so, OR should be good to go..
and I've actually wanted one of the force feedback controllers..(not the attachment, just this: http://www.novint.com/index.php/novintfalcon)
just not worth the price for what will turn out to be a novelty item..

The Culver's mint shake may just be the best shake I have ever tasted. I am not exaggerating.

Don't have one near me to try, but I love mint shakes!
I really like the F'Real mint shakes you can find at Wawa and Quickcheck (probably other places as well..) I will usually get 2 at a time and finish one before I get to the register...
